Farena

I have been on the hunt for great "authentic" Italian cuisine. TBH, I know nothing of the matter other than what my taste buds and limited research has taught me. Farena has their own pasta station where their pastas are made fresh in house. Sounds pretty authentic to me.. Their sauces did not disappoint either. We had the spicy Vodka sauce and the linguine was also a hit. We decided to make a go at it "family style" and had the Calamari Fritti for an appetizer. The dish came out hot , crispy and fresh! Extra points for the fried lemon chunks also that went well with random calamari bites. Next up we had 2 pasta dishes to share for 3 people. The pastas were cooked perfectly. The texture and noodle size was just perfect. Last, we had the meat dish. The Veal Milanese was tender and crispy. Topped with sliced Chard and Pecorino on top. Each bite was better than the last as the sauces get soaked up into the pasta. The service was top notch. It was the day after Christmas and we were the only ones there. Despite that, the staff treated us with great service and attitude. With drinks, great food, dessert the bill came in at a bargain for the overall experience.

Was in the mood for Italian food and had no idea we would stumble on gem. Talk about feeling underdressed for a fancy dinner at the Loews hotel lol.... Luckily it was Sunday evening and no one was in restaurant but us.... A win! I knew when the server brought out the BAGNA CAUDA we were in for a good night. I asked for garlic bread and this was sooooo much better. The taste of garlic and anchovies or whatever else was in that little saucer was amazing!!!We then order two pastas.... The LUMACHE RIGATE add shrimp 10/10 and the PAPPADELLE 10/10. Everything was so good that I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. I'm actually looking forward to trying the pizza!

We staid in the hotel and were looking for something close. What could be closer. My eggs Benedict were good but not stand out. My friend ordered the french toast and said it was way too sweet. We'd go again and maybe order other things.

A nice little spot in the Loews Hotel lobby. We did a late night meal after a Rangers game and enjoyed it. Awesome that they were open until 11 PM!The place has a great vibe and look, and we were seated near the back of the place, away from the bustling bar scene that greeted us as we entered. I do think they serve the menu (or at least a shorter version of it) in the bar area.Service was good, although not extremely polished or even. I did overhear a server tell someone at another table that had gotten two items and asked if he should eat from the service bowls or should he get a plate. The waitress replied, "I don't care what you do, but I can get you a plate if you want one." I know she didn't mean to sound harsh, but it really felt like she could have said it better, OR even better, she should have just given him a plate before the food arrived or when it was dropped at the table. Anyway...We didn't drink that night, but the cocktail menu looked fun and they have some nice wines, too.Food we had was very good. I had an outstanding chicken dish that I would go back weekly to enjoy, it was so delicious. My wife got the Meatballs and they were really tasty, but they had a side of flatbread that accompanied that had kind of a funky element that I wasn't that impressed by. It might be a beer, or something like that, but I would worry that the pizza dough contained it and that would make me leery. Still, I probably wouldn't deviate from the chicken when I return.

I came to Dallas to attend the Woman Evolve conference and my friend and I made reservations for lunch at this restaurant. I went in blindly only knowing it was Italian, but honestly you can't go wrong with Italian. We were seated right away and our waitress Sarah was AMAZING!! She was very accommodating and knew the menu very well. I asked for her opinion on what to order and the way she listed the food and knew exactly what I needed to hear was perfect. Wow! We started off with sparkling water and lemons and then we ordered the meatballs, Bruschetta and the LUMACHE RIGATE. She mentioned that the pasta would be spicy, but it was perfect for me. Everything is made fresh and the food was perfectly timed as well. I didn't really care too much for the Bruschetta so I probably wouldn't order that again. I throughly enjoyed the pasta. This is located inside the Loews Arlington Hotel. We had a little trouble finding the location. The bathroom was clean and we had a beautiful view overlooking the pool. It was a gorgeous day and a great afternoon for lunch! Sarah was terrific and I hope she continues to excel.

Stopped by for dinner with some friends and ordered tagliatelle pasta and spezaita pizza! Both were delicious!

We had lunch there and the hotel is lovely, the service was impeccable but the food just was meh. The pasta had very little meat at all in it. Maybe dinner is better but at these prices, just don't understand the hype.

Lovely restaurant but the whole authentic Italian menu was not a hit with anyone in the party. Service was great and attentive but there's nothing to recommend about this place.

I discovered this hidden gem in an article by that name in Arlington Today magazine! Huge wood fired ovens for authentic pizza, house made pastas, delicious entrees. Located in the newly opened Loewes hotel (not Texas Live!, the one across the street), with free valet parking! It's spendy but a good value and lovely for a special occasion. The server was so kind and worked with the chef to customize a dish for my dietary restrictions too!
