Express Wok

I got combination mei fun and it was really good. Huge portion. The meats were ok. The beef was a little tough to chew. Chicken and shrimp were alright. My bf got schezuan chicken and it was good, but it wasn't sichuan crispy fried chicken. The chicken was alright, but it wasn't really spicy. Lunch prices are cheap.

New ownership. The food was very bland. I ordered vegetable fried rice and it had no seasonings. Too bad. It used to be pretty good.

I come get Chinese about once or twice a month here cuz it's close to my work. The first time I got the shrimp lomein it was awesome. Today it was awful! The noodles were big and round - nothing like the lo mein noodles I'm used to- they are flat and thin- and the shrimp was medium. If you're looking for mediocre Chinese food- this is the place.

I ordered pickup today for the 1st time. Hot & Sour soup, sweet & sour chicken with fried rice and extra egg rolls. There's nothing great about the interior. It's dingy and could really use a fresh coat of paint and a deep cleaning. I think that would make a huge difference.The food was piping hot so that's a big plus. I had ordered egg rolls over the phone but found out when I got there they only have spring rolls that are veggies only. I was disappointed that they call them egg rolls on the paper menu but they're not and they didn't clarify over the phone. They were perfectly golden and crunchy with good flavor though.The hot & sour soup was good but not as spicy as I was hoping. Disclaimer- I have a cold so that could've been why it didn't taste very spicy.The sweet & sour chicken was crispy (until the steam of the box did that in). The fried rice had tons of onions that were barely cooked so they were very crunchy and unappealing. I've never had onions in fried rice before so I was surprised... next time I'll either ask for the onions to be well done or left out. The sweet & sour sauce was a little too thin so it was hard to get a good coating on the chicken. It also lacked on flavor but that could have also been a result of my cold disclaimer above. Overall I wasn't unhappy with the meal and I'll order from them again to try other dishes, but I haven't found "the" place to replace my favorite one that closed a few months ago.

Wow! I was really impressed by this little Chinese take out place. Placing an order was incredibly fast and easy and the guy who took it was dare I say nice AND polite? Yup, true story.I ordered the mixed vegetables (white sauce) with chicken and although the portion was a bit smaller than most other take out joints, everything about the dish was perfect and I will always prefer quality to quantity. The white sauce at a lot of places usually have too much corn starch (too thick) or is too watery, but this one was juuuust right. Accompany veggies were all still fresh and crisp, not cooked to death and the chicken? Let me tell you about this chicken...So juicy, perfect size and it tasted fresh. I can't wait to return and try something else. By the way, I spoke with one of the owners and they said they've been around for about 10 years. The family seemed really nice and proud of their establishment and that's always a plus!

So we just moved to Carrollton and noticed Express Wok is less than a mile from our new house. Convenient is an understatement! Anyways, I grabbed several lunch combos to test our their menu and here's what I've deduced:Sweet and Sour Chicken4.5/5Extremely crispy on the breading, which is awesome and oh-so-appealing in my book. The chicken is juicy and tasteful, while the traditional dipping sauce is actually a bit "tasteless" if you ask me. It could do with a bit more of that traditional sweet flavoring...more sour as it stands. General Tso' Chicken4/5Sweet, spicy and juicy. Everything you'd want from the most popular Chinese poultry item in the U.S. I could do with a bit more crispiness on the breading, but this'll do...Shrimp Lo Mein3/5Eh, this was disappointing. I love this dish at Royal Wok in little Koreatown, but here at Express Wok - not the best. The shrimps are REALLY small and the noodles lack the basic soy/mirin/maggi seasoning blend. Hunan Beef5/5This is the best of the dishes I tried today! The beef is tender and bursting with flavor. The baby corn, peppers and onions just add that nice bit of 'crunch' to the dish. Oh, and the sauce is slightly sweet but very spicy - love it! Overall, Express Wok is a good Chinese joint. I'll come back for sure, but if it's a Friday or Saturday evening, you'll find me at Royal Wok, not Express.

Under new management and has gotten way better since. Super fast delivery and you can order from their website and avoid delivery fees.

Placed an order through the yelp app per usual. About thirty minutes after receiving my confirmation email, I received a text saying that my order had been cancelled and the restaurant was closing. I would have understood if it wasn't 2 hours before the advertised closing time. I usually love to order from this location, but after waiting 30 minutes and expecting my order to arrive any minute only to be disappointed, I probably won't be back. I would have at least driven up there and picked up my order if they were out of drivers. As a fellow restaurant manager, I would have appreciated some form of communication/resolve. Two stars because this is my first bad experience.

Called to see if they deliver to me. the lady got annoyed by me asking and hung up on me. called again and when she realized it was me she hung up again. when I called a third time and she realized it was me she cussed and said they won't come to me. I want to clarify that I was in NO way rude or condescending. I do my best to be courteous to people in the food industry and not sure where this came from.
