Escapade 2001

What started as a great night ended up one of my worst nights here in Texas. We had great drinks and bartenders were great but towards the end of the night it went downhill very fast. I had bought a drink after 2 am as it was the last call for alcohol and bartender sold it to me. I walked with my drink in my hand towards the club inside called Avalon and stood outside of it by the dance floor. Then an older man (busboy) came up to my friends and I and ordered us to finish our drinks right then and there because he was picking up the glasses. Mind you he still had plenty of other glasses he still had to pick up. Most of my friends did finish their drinks right then and there but I couldn't finish it fast enough as it was cold and it was giving me brain freeze. He kept rushing me and I told him once I was done I would take it up to the nearest bar. He became super snarky and said I couldn't do that. I kept trying to drink my drink as fast as I could and he decided to snatch my drink (that I had bought) out of my hand. I have never in my life been so humiliated and upset in my life. I bet he wouldn't have done that to a make counterpart. I was so upset I began to cry because I've never been put in a situation like that especially since it was a male and he was so aggressive. I went up to the head bouncer and my friend explained the situation, all that was said was that he would be spoken to. Honestly I don't plan to step foot in a place like that where there is aggressive males especially workers. Deeply disappointed especially since I'm visiting from California and it was my first time ever stepping foot in this establishment.

This place is awesome. Great dance hall and plenty of bars for drinks at any point! One of the few white boys in there, but felt entirely welcomed!

Shittiest club I've ever been to, me and my girlfriend kept getting pushed all the time, there was a lot of shit on the dance floor, and she almost got hit with a beer bottle as we were exiting the dance floor, a lot of rude people that seemed to only be looking for a fight and not a friendly environment at all, plus we almost got ran over by 2 drunk drivers in the parking lot, recommend -100/10Gimme back my $40

I've called this place twice and they hung up on me. They suck. They do not answer their phones and do not help you if you ask any questions. Best not go there. Sketchy as hell. Only play Spanish music which I'm fine with but there's no variety

$15 coverage fee. Great music and great environment. You just need to be with the right people.

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. I love the music that they play and that you can go from 01 to 09 without having to pay twice. This is the club that I go to the most and I usually have a good time. Friday is ladies night, and on Saturdays if you go in before 10 there are usually passes there so you can get in for free if you're over 21 or $5 if your under 21. If you're over 21 you also get this coupon for a free drink at the bar. The down side is that its really empty until around 11:30. After that it gets really packed, to the point where you can't dance with out bumping into someone especially when they play huapangos and norteñas. If you get tired of mexican music they do also have this little club inside called avalon where they play hiphop, reggeton, merengue, salsa, bachata, cumbias etc. They did remodel the front part of the womens restroom, but the actual bathroom stalls are still crappy. I don't usually buy drinks ,but when I do I pay 5-$9 depending on the drink. I do recommend coming here if you want to dance to mexican music, and if you don't like it being packed I recommend coming on a friday.

If you are WHITE you pay waaaay more than anyone else. My Hispanic friends were charged $6 for a Dos Equis and when I ordered the same drinks they were $10 each....also for 5 shots of fireball and 1 titos vodka and sprite it was $47.... apparently the vodka sprite was $7 and the SHOTS were $8.. my Hispanic friends ordered the same 5 shots after I brought it up to them and were charged $25.. I was there for a friends birthday and really was excited to go but the amount of racism the bartenders showed was outrageous and made the night awful for me. I will never spend another dime at this place. There are plenty of places in Dallas I would much rather spend my money. Also to specify this was at 2001. I love the atmosphere and the dancing but unfortunately the racism blanketed the whole experience.

Personally i love going here , it's always a good time and great vibes. They always play the best music and the drinks are amazing. It can get very crowded but this place has the best looking men and woman, it's more of a spanish cultured atmosphere, and most of the people who go here are mexican including myself. They iD you but even if you don't get the drinking bracelet you can still drink if you have someone buy the drinks for you and no one will say anything to you. I would recommend if you love being surrounded by that mexican lifestyle.

The rudest fucken place ever! My friend got kicked out for drinking when she had already turned 21. He said "show me your fucken hands" and to "get the fuck out" and grabbed her by her arm and kicked her out, I had to step in to protect her from the fat security guard. I did not get his name but he was being extra violent with her. I am 21 and he told me to leave with her. Will never go back again!

Great music, multiple rooms with different music. Drinks are expensive, but its a fun place to go. There was also a $15 cover charge when we went.
