5/5 Food5/5 ServiceSooo delicious and well-timed Omakase special for valentine's day! Every dish was well made. I have zero complaints about the food and friendly service.Make sure to book in advance for omakase. Prices are a little high, but the food quality was worth it.

I would think that having a Japanese restaurant with a Japanese staff trained in Japan would be hard to find in Dallas, TX. But En is just that rare example. I find that the flavours here faithfully replicate the old country although a bit of Texas & Italy filters in. Nice long Sushi bar as well as standard tables more suited for group dining. I was recommended by Tomoko owner of Kappō Irifunè, another excellent Japanese restaurant in Los Angeles, to dine at En when I went to see the mesmerizing total solar eclipse. 1) Zensai/Appetizer a) Shakè/salmon Carpaccio in garlic, olive oil, Su/Japanese rice vinegar, puréed piquant, Serrano chiles, onion, tomato. b) Èbi no Kara Agè: Lightly fried whole shrimp with crispy head gives sweet meaty & crispy contrasting textures. c) Kamo no Tèion Yaki: Duck Tenderloin that is cooked medium in low heat for moist, nice duck gaminess, pleasantly chewy. Touch of Yuzu Koshō, a purée of aromatic Yuzu/Japanese citrus and piquant green chiles. d) Buta no Kakuni: Stewed Pork Belly that is long braised in a sweet soy sauce infused with a good jolt of refreshing, medicinal ginger. Meaty, stringy pork remInds me of pulled pork. The residual fat is buttery. 2) Bafun Hokkaidō Uni & Hiramè Tèmaki: Hand Roll of Nori/dark seaweed paper wrapping around Sushi rice, sweet velvety Uni/sea urchin from Hokkaidō with sea minerality paired with thick plush, sweet ocean Halibut. Great chef's suggestion. Superior quality Wasabi/Japanese horse radish with fine bits of fresh Wasabi root in the paste. 3) Tai no Saka Mushi: Head of a snapper braised in Sakè (sah keh). Sakè tenderizes the delicate fish meat so it is firm yet yieldingly moist and luscious. It's a search & eat mission sInce the meat is hidden inside the bony head. This dish is for sophisticated connaisseurs. 1-3a) Suigei Tokubetsu Junmai Sakè (sah keh): Dry, astringent, tangerine peel, grapefruit, white peach. Slight bitterness to cleanse the palate. Ideal with raw & cooked food. Rather like a Rosé, it can cover a wide field of foods. There are many other varieties of Sakè here to pair with the Japanese foods. En has a wide ranging menu that will appeal to a broad spectrum of eaters. Unfortunately, the menu doesn't always consistently and accurately explain the menu items in English. If in doubt, ask the staff for details. The authenticity of the Japanese cuisine at En rates 5 stars. It does not pretend to be Kaisèki level haute cuisine. It's closer to a Kappō style which is more generalized Japanese cooking. Very competent, very well versed with touches of home style cooking. Home Page has an expression by the Chef.En has many meanings in Japanese:1) Happy happenstance meeting of people2) Banquet3) Sheen, shiny, Luster which is the name of the chef's mother which connotes her bright personality4) Unit of Japanese currency/money which is spelled Yen in English.

Chef and his small but mighty crew are still running strong and putting out really impressive and high quality sushi without going away from tradition. I know there's several fancy sushi places in town now and in Dallas but this continues to be a stellar and consistent option for authentic sushi in town. Long may their reign continue! Thank you Chef !

I have to say this place is good, very good... Awesome selection of fresh fish and some are unique. The chef absolutely knows his craft and is great'. The place is small and that makes it even better (like 25 seats). However is it 5 stars...no. It's a solid 3.5 but not a 5 star sushi place. I only say that because Nobu and Uchi are tru 5 star sushi restaurants in Dallas. Not to say this place is bad, it's far better than most! I have been to all the best sushi restaurants in Dallas so take this review with a grain of salt. Most people would say this this is a 4-5 star place as the reviews reflect. When I say 3 stars I am not talk talking like Kura comparing, 3 vs 5 comparing to Uchi and Nobu.

A truly authentic Japanese experience tucked in a quiet corner of a strip mall. Let me just start off first by saying - if you are craving California rolls and tuna towers, this is not your spot. They don't serve "Texas" sized portions either, because that's not what they do. The owner explained to me that pre-covid their main clientele was traveling Japanese businessmen, which would explain why half of their menu is written in Japanese - which gave me confirmation that this would be a true Japanese experience. This place takes great pride in keeping their flavors OG to replicate what you would experience in Japan. The freshness of the sushi was impeccable and the texture of the sushi rice was comparable to "$$$$" rated omakase experiences I've had elsewhere. It really goes to show that they want to keep the flavors genuine - they don't even serve "local" Santa Barbara Uni, they basically told me it's Hokkaido Uni, or nothing. The most memorable bite to me was their special in house marinated ikura, it was like no other that I've had before. Toro, sweet shrimp, and scallop were also out of this world. If you want to experience a true multi-course Japanese experience right here in Frisco, I suggest calling ahead and reserving one of their Omakase experiences, because I know that's what I'm going to try next!

Decent sushi place for this area. We've been to many sushi places all over the states, surprisingly found this one in Frisco is actually serving traditional Japanese style. If you are looking for portion size, this is not the place. But what we experienced are as expected, so be kind. This is not a Americanized Sushi place. We appreciate its spirit.

I would recommend this restaurant for showing customers around. The leave it to us omakase course is ideal for that occasion. You don't have to think about what to order, and they serve the dishes in the order you want them served while you are talking with your guests. Moreover, the food looks beautiful and tastes good. It is a great restaurant.
