Empress of China

Had take out. Food was severely overcooked...Very surprised someone in kitchen allowed to leave restaurant.

This is my very first time coming to Empress of China, and I must say the food is SOOOOO delicious and fresh!! I ordered chicken king poa with steamed rice & egg drop soup, it all came out hot and fresh and absolutely yummy!! The service is very fast and the environment is very quiet. I will be returning!!

I ordered take out, and it wasn't good. I ordered the orange peel chicken with fried rice. The chicken was tough and chewy. There was also liquid pooling at the bottom of the container, like maybe the sauce wasn't sticking to the chicken. The rice was also bad, worse than the kind you can buy in the freezer aisle at the grocery. Some of it was crunchy/undercooked. I've also never seen fried rice that's still white. Disappointed is an understatement. I couldn't finish it, so I'm $16 poorer and still hungry.

I usually get the shrimp/ chicken fried rice or the spicy chicken Lo mein. Much better than panda for only 2-3 dollars more.

Everything I ordered was served cold. I had to send my wonton soup back to be heated. The Canton egg roll was cold as was the Four Seasons. I didn't bother sending either back. I simply asked for the check, paid, and left.The service was less than friendly. I'll never understand how places like this stay in business. I was ignored by the two people at the front when I entered. After seeing me stand there for about five minutes, they finally addressed me. Two minutes later, I was finally seated.Ambiance was nice but the only reason for the one star. I'll never go back.

A local classic for me. Empress has fast service (including delivery) with a large variety of tasty options. The food is always fresh as well. My favorite dish is the moo shu chicken and the fried rice, yum! I would recommend this restaurant.

We've been coming to Empress of China (EOC) for many years and have always had a good experience. We also used to of to their "sister" restaurant in Southlake (Howard Wang's), which closed shortly after COVID.EOC is pretty standard Chinese American fare, but it is done very well and is reasonably priced. Portions are on the large size - large enough that we can take home the rest and have another couple of meals from the one serving.I've gotten several items, including the Kung Pao Chicken, Mongolian Stir Fry, Mandarin Pecan Chicken, Lemon Chicken, and others. All were excellent. The egg roll appetizers are a great way to start, especially with the hot mustard sauce.Staff is always friendly and attentive. The music tends to be on the "Chinese hotel muzak" channel, but it's not a distraction. Interior design is sort of basic 1980's style (wavy track lights, glass block) and could do with a refresh, but again, it is not a big deal.Dinner for two (with ice teas) is reasonably priced at around $40. I highly recommend EOC.

Pretty good overall. They didn't have Chow Mein....weird. Service was good, I'd go back.

The food seem OK however spareribs was overcooked and I felt that the portion size was not up to par. The ambience was not pleasant and it was pretty dark and the drinks tasted like it came out of the toilet plus the food had too much MSG and it was not prepared correctly. Therefore I'm glad that I only visit this place once and I was out of town at the time when I visit this place when I go back there again absolutely not and this is a place. I will not recommend people to visit and eat

Excellent! Large portions. Next time we'll split the small. Food is very fresh. Their Hot & Sour Soup was the best I ever had period. A bowl of soup is $6. Wine by the glass was $6 a glass. And generous pours. It's our favorite place now.
