El Ranchito Carniceria

Here's the low down on this spot...being from another state we got used to getting what we consider was authentic Mexican food with more traditional flavors...that being said, sadly we hadn't found a place in the area that offered anything close UNTIL my wife was referred to El Ranchito by our landscaping guy...and let me tell you...awesome food, authentic, traditional flavors and the service was down right good...Lalo and Christina own this place, are fantastic people who are there to serve, smile and inform! Great little hidden gem for us locals. Offers that neighborly carneceria ambiance as well as top notch Mexican facts food...here's the kicker...weekly carnitas available by the oz or pound...and home made tamales!! Holy cow!! This place is amazing...stop in and see them...gotta try the home made hot sauces too!!! Flavorful rich, the right amount of HEATyou won't regret stopping in!

Hello fellow Newarkians, I have exciting news! We have a new Carniceria opening in town. Target date to open is the 19th of May. The owner shared that the butcher case will feature your traditional Mexican favorites like Fajitas, etc. they will also have items like Tomahawk steaks. Along with a butcher shop they will carry fresh vegetables, grocery items and have a small taqueria (Mexican restaurant). I met the owner and his wife and they are both very nice. Come on in and support our local businesses. We have needed a small grocery and butcher so let's make them a success. Fellow Yelpers spread the word.

I found this spot by some done in my neighborhood shared their flyer. First things first they need to proof read their flyers. They completely got the date wrong. I don't know what is with the address but numerous people in the neighborhood said the same thing, it took them to a backwoods neighborhood. Luckily I googled it and found it. They advertised free tacos and margaritas! SCORE! This mama doesn't have to cook dinner! Woooo! Tacos are life. I couldn't pass it up. I tried to be smart and got there at 3:30. Before people eat dinner. Well... there were no tacos, or margaritas. Bummer. The Carniceria is small and cute. Not very much parking. I got 3 pounds of fajita marinated. Took it home and threw it on the grill. I like to think of myself as a taco connoisseur. It's my go to. We served them at our wedding. I tried 23 taco places for our wedding. Tacos are love. The prices are great. $9/pound for marinated. $8.50 for regular. Back home it's $16-18/pound. The meat smelled so good when cooking. Flavor - 4/10Texture - 4/10Smell - 7/10We figure it's great if you're having a bbq and a bunch of people over because it's reasonably priced.

Has a great meat and poultry selection Very clean Great customer service and they are very helpful The fajita meat was very well seasoned and tasted fantastic at a good price toThe pan dulce was very good Loved the chocoflan

We checked them out on Sunday and found that they are very nice people and conduct their business in a very nice environment. They are new so the store shelves are still being stocked, but the meat counter is full and everything looks great. We bought the fajitas marinara, and tablita marinada and cooked them on the grill tonight, and they were both excellent. Freshly made salsa was also very good. We will be back.

This place is legit!! I've lived in the area for 8 months and this point I'm a regular. The fajita marinated carne asada is 10/10. The beef fajita with onions and peppers is 10/10. The fresh salsa is 12/10. And now they serve food!!! Just incredible. Also being local the owners remember me every time I come in. I'll be a customer for life

Awesome food... great meats, fish, fresh produce, bakery. Friendly service. I highly recommend the fresh chorizo!

Just visited on grand opening day, and I am so excited for this new local business in the neighborhood! All of the staff was super kind, friendly, and excited to be open! All of the meat was reasonably priced and looked great. We watched someone begin to marinate a new batch of beef fajita behind the counter so now we know the meat is marinated in house. Overall we are super excited to watch this place grow!
