I'll always come here! They've been open for a really long time. I'm gonna sound like I can't appreciate mexican food but they have some bomb chicken nuggets and bbq sauce. I also love their burrito de fajitas so much! The tortilla is so crispy and soft at the same time. Add green sauce and it's fire!!! Torta de jamón also smacks!

The Gordita and fillings are so good! They have variety and you really can't go wrong with any of the choices... some of the best Gorditas in DFW. What I really want to comment about are the breakfast tacos... THE BEST BREAKFAST TACO MONEY CAN BUY! I have had the Tacos a Juan in a Million in Austin, Tacos in San Antonio, The Rio Grande Valley and El Paso... Nothing compares to this place. The one Breakfast Taco I can compare it to is a Taco we used to get in Saltillo when I was a kid. We would drive by once a year and always stop at the same Taqueria to get their breakfast tacos. Well, these tacos/burritos are better. We had the Egg, Potatoe and Bean Burrito/Taco... and the Egg, Ham and Beans... heaven.

Your new favorite gordita shack. Handmade gorditas filled with tender barbacoa, over easy eggs w/ ham & cheese, nopalitos con puerco, and anything else you can think of to jam into those tasty corn pockets of love. You will rarely see a gringo at this gem on the little mountain. It has a fantastic view of downtown and is across the street from a nice park. We take our dog and walk off our gorditas, flautas, and Strawberry Jarritos in the park after brunch. It appears to be known for excellent Menudo by the regulars, but I can't convince my olfactory system that that is a good idea.

Stumbled upon this place by chance...the sign does not resemble an inviting restaurant sign but is rather a discreet sign saying "metate". I had to google what this place was before venturing in. I ordered the lunch place that included: 2 gorditas and a side order of rice and beans. I had a fajita gordita and a nopales with red sauce gordita. The fajitas were cooked guisado style. They were soft and just the right amount of seasoning. The Nopales gordita was YUMMY. The red sauce gave it just the right amount of kick that I wanted. The gorditas are filled heartily to the point the fillings were falling out. The green salsa that was served was too mild for my taste. I thought the rice and beans lacked A LOT of flavor. Next time, I will just be ordering the gorditas a la carte rather than the lunch plate. Definitely will be a repeat customer!

I've been going to lunch at this place for a few years now and i have to say this is one of my favorite places for authentic Mexican in Fort Worth. The interior isn't much to look at but it's not that kind of place. You are there for one reason, the food. They have some of the best gorditas around. I prefer the chicken but all the ones I've tried have been great. They also have some of the best barbacoa as well. This would be the authentic kind made if cheek meat. They serve it everyday (not just weekends), so that is a plus. I was able to make it out there on a recent Sunday to try the menudo. While its not the best I have ever had, it is still very good. All in all I would highly recommend this place. The food is great, the place is clean and the staff is always friendly.

Visited here today for the first time. The Gorditas here are as good as it gets. Can't think of a better one I've ever had. As a matter of fact, I'm usually not that big a fan of Gorditas because I've had a lot of badly made dough. Either too thick or too mushy. The Gordita dough here is the right thickness (thin but not too thin) and made with just the right amount of toastiness. Try the "Picadillo". Preferred that over the beef fajita that was ok. A new favorite.

Best Mexican food ever!! If you want an authentic Mexican style food whole in the wall and not tex-mex this is your place. The tortillas de harina are hand made Gordita's freshly made. Barbacoa is not greasy, menudo is fresh ( only served on the weekend). You can't go wrong with the caldo and it comes with a plate with rice a salad and a side of guisado and corn tortillas. A must try is a burrito de desebrada with lettuce and tomato and mayo. Or a Gordita de fajitas not fried with yellow cheese cebolla and cilantro and mayo. The Gordita's come with lettuce and tomato inside them. If you want something out of the ordinary try a big man burrito. Also you cannot forget the green hot sauce. Chicken nuggets and cheese burgers and the bomb. Com.
