I was attracted to this new BBQ joint just outside of Rockwall by a facebook post on by a friend. Something about the new place always brings me in. But this is not a new guy, this is Eddie Deen, the well known DFW master of catering, events, and BBQ. This barn turned BBQ joint is off of 205 just south McClendon Chisholm. It was out of the way, but we were exploring and hungry. Not much to look at from the outside, but it looks like it belongs there for sure. This no frills place is open 11-9pm daily according to their hand written sign. Inside a chalk board menu greets you with your simple options. The pricing is on the higher end for BBQ, but my wife and I found a great deal for 2, $20 for 4 meats + 4 sides. I think that is a fantastic deal. Let me break down how each of the things tasted so you can get an idea of where we are at here. 5 stars max. SAUSAGE - 5/5 BRISKET - 4.5/5RIBS - 2/5CHICKEN - 2.5/5BREAD - 5/5CHIPS - BAGGEDBEANS - 5/5SLAW - 3/5POTATO SALAD - 4/5BBQ SAUCE - 5/5The music kept cutting out, the decor was bland, and the place was over all no frills and ran by 17-20 year olds. Ol' Eddie himself was there when we walked in, but he was too busy to notice that we knew who he was. The guy actually catered our wedding, heh. Anyways this place was great, and we will be back. The ribs were a dissapointment, but only because they were obviously not fresh. If they had baked potatoes, music that did not skip, and a fresh ribs this would easily be a 5 star joint. I will be back and revise my review if needed. Check them out!

Serving size for the two meet plate was smallish -- there for expensive for the meal ($25 for the two of us).Hope they do well and we'll be back.

Yuck. Worst. Barbecue. Ever. The hype is all they got to sell. I don't care how many puff pieces about all inaugurations they have served is on the news, this was awful barbecue. Even the sides couldn't redeem this. If you love barbecue, go anywhere else; even chain "McBarbecue" stores are light years ahead of the food here.

Top bbq place on my list; not a big fan of the sides though. Brisket so tender and full of flavor along with the ribs falling off the bone. This place never disappoints.

I used to work for eddie as a caterer and the conditions were deplorable to say the least, we constantly were using old food and pretending like it was freshly cooked, they made us work long grueling hours at one time with out 30 min breaks.. all around just bad people
