Dovini Italian Bar & Grill

Food is outstanding. Warm family atmosphere and in a great part of town. I've eaten here several times and I've yet to be let down. The drinks, the food and the service are all outstanding for a small Texas town. The owners I believe from the rumor mill are NYC refugees and this has the New York Italian food feel nailed.

I was visiting the area last weekend and had the opportunity to dine at Dovini on Friday night. The place was PACKED with people waiting to get in (I see this as a very good thing!) It's not a large space, but it has a great ambience. We were attended to by Drita who was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. We got our drinks quickly and they were delicious. My dining companions ordered the Valentine's Day special (steak, lobster, etc.!), shrimp alla vodka and I had the Godfather pizza. I can tell you that we were all extremely pleased. The bread they serve before the meal is insanely good! The sauce on the pizza was SO fresh. We had the chance to talk with Drita's husband who is one of the owners and he was so welcoming. When I'm in Bridgeport again, I'll be coming back to Dovini!

Great pizza crust. I had a great waiter, who took good care of us. Still 2 stars.I ordered the Dovini trio. The lasagna was literally the size of the head of my fork (see pics). The chicken parm was burnt. The cheese on the alfredo was cold. I asked them to remake it, and they obliged. It took them over 30 minutes to remake, and by the time they brought it to me, my wife and child had finished their meals and we were left to stare at other people's plates. The manager did try to bring it out, but the waiter told him to take it back and make it to go. Again, tiny slice of lasagna, chicken I could not cut through, and the same alfredo they had already served me... it all went straight into the garbage. They had tiny slices of foccia bread, nothing like the other YELP review. There was oil and balsamic on the table, and a nice selection of beers. My wife ordered a white pizza, and when they said they didn't have one, she asked if they could make one with alfredo sauce. The waiter again, was excellent, and make it happen. However, while the crust was nice, the sauce was chunky and flavorless.2 STARS are both for the excellent job our waiter did. I hope he stays here. It's just too bad the manager never bothered to make it to our table.

Such an adorable little spot in downtown Bridgeport. Great Italian food. Our server, Mesha was such a sweetheart, took our order perfectly and gave us excellent service. Highly recommend, can't wait to come back!

The first time we came here about 4 months ago, the food was really amazing. The bruschetta was delicious and the fish was very good. So, we decided to come back for dinner again. What a disappointment! The bruschetta was not done the same way and it had way too many red onions. The chicken Marsala had such a bland sauce I had to douse it in salt for it to bd edible. The short rib ravioli was swimming in sauce. On a high point, the cannolis were very good.

This is a family owned business with wonderful customer service. They really try hard to deliver wonderful food. This is not their only restaurant but the amount of time and work they put into both shows! Side note even though this restaurant has a bar I would still approve it as a safe family restaurant even for smaller kids.

We made reservations based on advice from friends. Seated immediately and had a great server that took our drink orders while we waited for the rest of the party.to arrive. The place looks very nice but the great decor is ruined by about 20 TVs around the room. Waiter offered specials and took the order. The ambience was great for conversation as the noise level was not loud at all. I had a great Bacardi and coke which I supper while enjoying the hot rolls with butter and waiting for my trio; lasagna, fettuccini Alfredo and chicken Parmesan. The food was hot and appeared fresh. I loved the fettuccini and lasagna but while the chicken Parm tasted great, the chicken was way overcooked. Everyone loved their dinner's so we had dessert. The tiramisu was conventional and outstanding. I will come back for sure. My Wife had the spaghetti Bolognese and did it was the best spaghetti dish she ever had. Bathrooms were spotless .

Wow, a great discovery while here in Bridgeport - Dovini's is doing it right! The lighting and music set the proper ambiance, along the first rate service levels and retro fun décor. We started with the fresh calamari served along side a cup of marinara sauce - nice "zing" to it - San Marzanos, perhaps? An ice cold dirty martini, paired so well with the chicken Piccata. Next, we tried the Veal Marsala, ​and the wine sauce was excellent. In-house made Tiramisu for dessert was a strong finish. Well done, Louis - and Thank You!

First time to Dovini Italian. I was pleasantly surprised. The lasagne was excellent. There was a full house. The staff were very friendly and professional. Bartender did a great job. I recommend giving them a try.

I love love love vodka sauce, and my shrimp and pasta had some of the best I've ever had. Rich & creamy with plump shrimp. So glad I could bring home leftovers!
