I had driven by this place several times before I finally stopped for dinner with my family. I wish I had done so sooner! The food is simple, but almost flawlessly executed. The menu leans heavily toward comfort food classics like meatloaf, lasagna, and shepherds pie, but lighter options like a chicken ceasar salad were also available. The desserts were definitely the highlight of our meal. Like the other menu items, the dessert portions are HUGE. My daughter and I split a piece of coconut cream pie, and we still didn't finish it.An amazing view, rustic atmosphere, and wonderful service rounded out the experience. If you're passing through the area, don't miss this place! I can't figure out why it wasn't packed to the gills.

We really like trying new places. Sometimes it doesn't always work out for us. This was one of those times. Be prepared for sticker shock. We got the meatloaf, king ranch chicken, two teas and one desert and it cost us $54. And for that price we got served on flimsy paper plates with plastic forks. The food was less than average. We didn't finish our food and declined a to go plate. The cheddar biscuits had no flavor and were not warm. For desert ,we got the apple "crisp" which was not crisp at all. It was very mushy. Thank goodness we got ice cream with it. I am posting a picture of the Apple crisp. There is certainly a lot going on there. We stopped on The Junk Store (as they call it) and the sign was correct. We were not impressed and will not be back.To answer your response, the words "delicious" and "great" never left our lips. And no motive other than to provide an accurate review of your restaurant and food.

Wow!! We have passed by this place on our way from Austin to the Fort Worth area several times. I'm upset myself for not stopping sooner!! The chicken pot pie has a amazing flaky crust and is savory inside. We could have stopped the show there and totally gone on our way satisfied. But then we saw the dessert menu! We tried 3 and all were truly a gift from Heaven!! This is our ranking3. Cookie Dough Cheesecake (this is a no joke chocolate rush) 2. Coconut Cream Pie(Fluffy and perfectly toasted coconut on top)1. Banana Cream Pie (mic drop)The service was sweet and the country family atmosphere is spot on. We will be back next trip!!

Excellent food! All handmade with local, or organic ingredients if possible. So healthy and comforting. Best chicken pot pie we've ever tasted. There are 6 layer chocolate cakes, carrot cakes and coconut cream pies. Plus more. Fancy Italian espresso machine to finish the meal. The porch is screened in and with the fans and mister it's comfortable. I'll definitely get frozen meals to take home, too!

Be prepared for sticker shock. I am in town Monday-Friday and pass Dianne's daily. I called ahead and placed an order for Shepard's Pie 'for me'. You would like the Shepard's Pie Plate? Yes I would and a piece of chocolate cake. The piece of cake was larger than the serving of Shepard's Pie. The Shepard's Pie was tasty but not the best I had ever had. The 'plate' serving was good for one that is hungry. I don't feel it would feed and satisfy two. The Chocolate Cake. Obviously kept refrigerated sliding my provided plastic fork through the outer frosting actually broke the fork. This was symptomatic of the entire serving. A few seconds in the microwave may have resolved this but after a few minutes I gave up. The price tag for a 'plate' of Shepard's Pie and a 'slice' of chocolate cake: $22.00+WoW. I don't do many reviews and your response is precisely why. Take it as constructive and not personal. For your information I had asked around and got mixed reactions prior to my first visit, my review was actually my second visit and I was actually giving you a second go. There won't be a third visit and since you made it personal I'll probably share your tantrum response to all social media outlets.

Dianne's ranch diner blew us away! The whole experience: the drive up to the house which was mowed and neat as a pin, the welcoming screened in deck, the fast service, most of all the wonderful healthy food. I got the chicken pot pie which was huge and full of meat and veggies and flavored with a master hand. I peeked at the desserts and saw a towering foot high chocolate cake, several pies and knew I was lost. The coffee was first class. Dianne ( who we got to meet) is a conscientious chef whose reputation is built on years of organic gardening and cooking in Oregon. Thankfully she moved to halletsville! ( on stephenville's doorstep)

We discovered that Route 281 was a less stressful alternative to visit our son's family in Weatherford from Central Texas than I-35. Along that route was a wonderful "why is this here?" discovery, Dianne's Ranch Diner. You can read the back story yourself and I find it quite remarkable. But I'm here to write about the food. Right now on this rare snowy day we have some of Dianne's Cowboy Stew simmering in the crock pot. It promises to be delicious! I can't wait for another back road journey to see the grandkids and load up on more of their extensive menu.

Found this place through Yelp when we were looking for some place to stop on our way through Stephenville. The reviews were good so we decided to try it. I'm glad we did. The food was wonderful and staff was friendly, The seating is outside but it's covered, screened in, and they had some huge fans going. I'm one of those that sweats a ton and doesn't handle the Texas heat too well but It wasn't as uncomfortable as I would have thought considering it was probably 95 degrees. The side salad I got had chopped up bell peppers which I wasn't expecting. I don't like them and give me indigestion. I honestly don't remember if they were listed on the menu description so I might be my fault for over looked that. I definitely will make a point to stop again the next time I pass through. Also they had so many Sheep, llamas, lambs, my son loved watching them when we finished our meal.
