Went to the Arboretum for the Christmas Village during December! So beautiful!! We went to the night time entry, they had 6 and 7 pm, but there are also day time entry tickets. The tickets are $37 for adults and $17 for members. It's pretty pricy, but it was really worth it and the tickets support the garden. The daytime tickets were less expensive. They had a theme of 12 days of Christmas with a display for each day, plus a Christmas village to walk around which was really adorable. They had put lights on almost all of the trees in the garden and it was really magical. Great date or place to go with children. There was a surface parking lot at the garden entry and then a garage that is a good little walk, of maybe two blocks. Great experience at the garden! Would highly recommend the Christmas event.

Went for the Christmas Village experience with my family. Be warned, parking is a nightmare! But it is free to park in the garage. I was expecting this very magical, wonderland. All we got was some trees with lights, a couple Christmas trees. A bunch of vendors selling things in the village, and a Santa that didn't even ask my 9 year old what she wanted for Christmas. I guess he was over it.It's a lot of walking, crowded, cute, but a lot could be improved. All in all a good memory to make ONCE with your family. For the price, I feel there are better Christmas activities to do in DFW.

So very disappointed with the arboretum now... As a member, I've typically enjoyed their October pumpkin and December Christmas specials, but today it was clear they're going down hill and just trying to do a money grab. Their management policies around rain days are ridiculous. We got tickets for the holiday at the arboretum at night a couple weeks back, but weather forecast clearly stated it was going to rain all day as of the last couple days. We called the day before and even after 3:30pm the day of to check if they'd allow reschedules due to rain since the forecast was clearly stating it would be raining. For the first call, they said check back the day of after 3pm as management would make a decision then. When we called at 3:30pm the day of, apparently they said the rain would stop beforehand so management would not allow reschedules. Then apparently at 5:30p (30 minutes before we were scheduled to arrive) they had made the decision to allow reschedules after it was still raining. Unfortunately, there was no notice and we found out as soon as we had parked and shlepped over to the gate in the rain to check in, and just to find out that it could've been rescheduled after all. We drove over 1 hour to be there ... Were miserable in the rain... Some of the automated figures weren't moving and some of the Christmas stores in the village weren't even open either ... It was cold, rainy and horrible and we definitely weren't the only ones that thought that. Very disappointed and likely won't be members again in the future.Note to the arboretum management: think of your patrons and attendees rather than just trying to make a buck

We live the Dallas Ardoretum. This time we had 6 family members and found out that a year membership costs just a bit more and we can come back as much as we all want. Parking is included in the membership.

I spent a day here with a friend and had the best time! The grounds are super clean, plants thriving, there are really long paths through the arboretum and gardens so you can stay walking the entire time or stop somewhere for a quick picnic lunch. This is kid and group friendly as well so you can go alone, on a date, with a group or as a family. We really enjoyed our time there and I'll definitely be back.

Ok, it's April 2024. You know the rest. Total Eclipse of the Sun.We were visiting friends in Dallas. They made reservations (as of course everything was booked everywhere) at the Arboretum. Given there was a limit, we went with the spouse of my long term friend (who went to the roof of their house with the kids) and her brother. The meal at the Arboretum was fabulous and though crowded, the service was excellent. But let's move on to the Arboretum itself.Absolutely beautiful! Walking from area to area (the eclipse was soon to come, and we were very worried - clouds, clouds, everywhere) the presentation of gardens and such was magnificent. Most everyone was gathering at specified areas the Arboretum said would be "good viewing". Our friend said - "we know better". We went to a, not deserted, but small area with benches. Her brother set up a special lens camera.Still it was cloudy, and even the partial eclipse in progress sun gave only peeks and teases. Maybe we should have gone to all the exhibits instead? We continued to appreciate the beauty there, in our secluded spot with maybe 14-25 people. We engaged in conversation, while also admiring the statues. The clouds got darker. TWO MINUTES before total (as the peeking of the sun did show more and more of the shadow moon) the clouds separated, evaporated, and the total eclipse was magnificent. The awesome beauty of the universe. As we slowly departed (almost an hour after total), we did appreciate some of the elegant presentations (NASA, etc.) and also had an ice drink while again admiring the gardens. So, 7 stars. Well, if the clouds had remained, 5 stars. Even if rained out, the Arbortetum probably always would deserve 5 stars.

We have enjoyed coming to the Arboretum during all seasons over the past 25 years. From tulips in the Spring, heat tolerant plants and flowers in the summer, pumpkins and mums in the Fall to the 12 Days of Christmas displays. We especially loved the Chihuly art installation in 2012 - so magical! We have purchased and enjoyed Family memberships some years. So happy to support a local treasure. We really enjoy the exhibits and beautiful flowers. We've even attended several weddings here over the years. I recommend anyone that enjoys seeing nature and flowers to go to the Arboretum. You will not be disappointed!

Their 12 Days of Christmas displays are so beautiful! I highly recommend checking them out if you are around this area during christmas. They sell hot chocolate right when you walk in but it's more like lukewarm chocolate lol. If you walk a little further in there are alcoholic and coffee options. I wish we had seen that before we purchased our lukewarm chocolate but that's what we get for being impatient. Each vignette representing one of the 12 Days of Christmas is so well done and full of detail. This is a real treat!

The Dallas arboretum was such a special place. I am so glad we could make it before our trip is over. Parking was very easy and it was underground and protected from the sun and non-visitors. There is a tunnel leading from the parking garage to the park so that you didn't have to cross traffic, which was amazing considering we had a one year old with us. The staff were extremely friendly and were happy to do their job. We continue to wander all over the park and we're awe struck by the plants and flowers and landscaping. During this time of year, they also started decorating for Halloween and having their Halloween area set up. It was such a treat to see a holiday set up! The only complaint I have was at the map was very confusing to use!I would love to come back many more times in the future!
