This past Sunday we found ourselves in Christina's, again. I was surprised that my last visit was around June 2012!A lot has changed since 2012. Most notably, it is no longer a retail shop, just a restaurant, with a small bar.Well this was a draft, and now the BIG news is that Christina's is moving into the building know as The Nutt House (Hotel). The new location should be open near the end of November 2024.

Anniversary dinner!! We had a reservation, so we were seated immediately. Our server was super nice. The new location is pretty...maybe not the rustic, antique look of the other location, which I absolutely LOVED...the wood floors, the gorgeous bar area...but I'm certain the new kitchen is so much better able to handle the crowds. And speaking of the crowds...oh my...the noise level...just deafening. So while the food is A M A Z I N G, we had prime rib with braised greens and substituted grits for the potatoes and a salad and a cup of French onion soup, the noise is almost more than we can handle. You just cannot enjoy each other and have a conversation. It was a constant back and forth of "Charlie Brown's teacher" and "huh???" So, food and service were exceptionally great!!!' Ambiance, just too loud for us to enjoy.

So this is my first review of Christina's American Table 2.0, so before I start let's do a little back story, we moved here 9 years ago after retiring from the Marine Corps, and we soon ran into Gary and Katie, who at the time were running a Boutique and a small little sandwich place with six garden patio tables and a fountain in the back, Gary was a food wholesaler with a creative eye and imagination for food, we shared our first Christmas with the Folger family and were intrigued with what Christina's was going to become, we would laugh about how fast people were going to pick up on their new ideas on their food, and boy did they knock it out of the park, the dishes that came out of their small little kitchen were incredible, and little did most know that he cooked most of the dishes on Camping equipment and toaster ovens, little propane burner stoves and toaster ovens, then Covid hit and it didn't stop them, they changed their menu to suit the need of pickup and curbside service, fast forward to 2024, they just opened CAT 2.0, and it's just jaw dropping, in terms of decor and how efficient the staff are, and even the food is different, even more refined, even more delicious, so happy and proud to see their journey to this point, this is a must stop for anyone traveling to Granbury, thank you Folger Family for the years of excellent hospitality and delicious food, looking forward to what is next.

Christina's recently moved to the whole bottom floor of the Nutt House hotel on the corner of the beautiful Granbury Square. I was so excited to stop by and see this new space. We were able to get a table in the window and enjoy the Christmas parade outside while drinking wine and having a delicious dinner inside. We ordered the charcuterie board as an appetizer, and I have to say it was fairly disappointing because it only came with a few small pieces of bread which was not near enough to enjoy the cheese, honey and chutney that was provided. Wish they had just tossed a few crackers on it. I'm sure this will get better as it goes along. As far as main meal, the highlight for me was the crab cakes. I don't think I've ever had crab cakes as delicious as these were! The salad and Brussel sprouts were also spot on. My aunt had the Tenderloin pasta and loved it. I had to stop into the restroom while we were there because if you've been to the old Christina's, you know that it was such a small space that you had to literally walk through their kitchen to get to the bathroom! So it seems like such a small thing here but it's a big deal to this restaurant and it's BEAUTIFUL. Whoever designed that restroom was spot on. We wrapped up our dinner with vanilla bean crème brûlée and left stuffed. I can't wait to come back and I am so happy for this sweet family to have such an awesome new space.

We celebrated my husband's birthday at Christina's on Wednesday night. It was packed but we had a reservation and were seated within minutes. The service was excellent. The food was good but my seared scallops were gritty and way too salty. Everything else was really good. We will definitely go back.

We had blueberry moito, pineapple cider and two duets. Duets included Turkey Chutney and Leta Club sandwiches with pickled pasta salad. Delightful staff and quick seating at lunch time on Friday. We sat outside and enjoyed the summer day and our server made serve trips to refill water. My moito was huge, refreshing, tasty. Tart and not too sweet. Sweet chutney and salty bacon on my my "healthy" turkey sandwich are a winning combination. But the highlight was the pickled pasta salad. Alone worth the trip and I cannot recommend it enough. It was the special, not a staple item and I cannot imagine why. Adding mystery to the ambiance?
