Their mothership is in Watauga at the Chef Point Cafe in a Conoco station. It's gourmet food and you can get your car filled up and a fountain drink, butterfinger, and a pack of smokes all in the same place. This is their food truck and it is the same quality. You can find them only a couple days of the week in the near the Gordon Boswell florist next to Harris Hospital. They've got a huge following because they've been on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives on the Food Network and you can follow them on Facebook at:https://www.facebook.com/chefpointfans

I just want to start out by saying I heart Chef Point in Watauga. Unfortunately, they just don't seem to have the food truck thing down quite yet. I arrived around 1pm for their lunch shift in the Gordon Boswell parking lot (which is from 11am-2pm). So while I didn't get there right at the beginning, they still had an hour of service left. When I arrived, they announced they were out of burgers. Then they announced they were out of fries. By the time I got to order, they were out of bread. I ordered a chicken sandwich that they said they would put on a salad for me. My friend got the sexy friend chicken. We had to wait about 25-30 minutes total, with the standing in line and then to get our order, all in the blazing hot sun in an asphalt parking lot with no shade and no where to sit. And then the food really just wasn't THAT great. I mean, Chef Point is so awesome -- SO delicious -- but this food truck food was just average southern cooking. The fried chicken tasted like it could have been good if it had been consumed straight out of the frier, but since there is nowhere to sit, we had to wait to get back to our office. My chicken sandwich was relatively plan and the cheese on top was pretty rubbery and fake tasting. It simply wasn't worth the wait, especially in this heat. I would rather head on over to the food parks to chill in the shade, or drive up to Watauga for the real deal.

After hearing my parents extol Chef Point Cafe in Watauga multiple times, I didn't think twice in my decision to drive down to Fort Worth, where my mother works, and join her for lunch from Chef Point Cafe on Wheels at 1220 Pennsylvania Ave in the Gordon Boswell Parking lot across from Harris Hospital. Only serving up food on Wednesdays at this location (for now), Chef Point Cafe on Wheels functions as a mobile restaurant truck serving up food for the surrounding hungry doctors and workers at Harris Hospital. Notwithstanding its not being the physical restaurant in Watauga, this satellite location did not disappoint. I had the "better-than-sex" chicken which, while not better than sex, (I mean, c'mon let's not get ahead of ourselves), was absolutely delicious nonetheless. The mashed potatoes and gravy that were served with it were creamy and savory. I can now understand why people wait in the heat outside for these delicious dishes. If you treat yourself to this establishment, be smart and call ahead your order. It saves you a lot of time standing in the heat waiting for your food. Well done, Chef Point. Can't wait to return to try some other tasty choices.

Very sad night. Went to Chef point cafe after reading great reviews. First item I ordered which was pot roast and was not available. A dozen items on the list and they have trouble managing that properly. In general, food was average at best. Waitress was great or I wouldn't have given any stars

I was expecting much better. The food was bland, the waitress was very good but the management was constantly berating the employees.I have to believe this trickles down form ownership. The portions are small and overpriced for what you get. We will scratch this place off our list.

Very disappointing meal at Chef's Point. We have eaten there several times before and had wonderful meals. Tonight, not at all good. We ordered the ribeye which comes with a plop of garlic butter or blackened. My husband and I both ordered the ribeye with the plop of garlic butter, both medium rare. When the steaks arrived at our table, they were blackened and very well done. The blackened steaks were so well done, neither of us could cut or eat them. The manager came to the table to check on us and I asked him if that was what they called medium rare steak. He said no that they were overcooked and well done. I told him they were also blackened, which was not what we ordered. He took them back to the kitchen and told them to cook us two medium rare steaks. After waiting another 15 minutes to finally eat, 2 more steaks arrived with the plop of garlic butter, not blackened. We cut into the steaks, which were considerably less cooked but still not medium rare. Very tough steaks cooked medium. We ate half, because we were quite hungry, by this point, but very disappointed in the steaks. We had ordered another drink while waiting for our (second) steak to be cooked. The waiter forgot about us and the bartender brought a drink over to me and not my husband. My drink was the only one he ordered, the bartender said. We are very saddened by this meal tonight and the manager did nothing to compensate us for their obvious misstep with our meal. The very least he could have done was buy the drink we ordered while we waited for them to correct their error. We will never order the steak there again and may not return ever again. Too many great places to spend $125 for a descent meal to be that disappointed again!
