If you like rice porridge/congee/juk, look no further. This is the only place in DFW that specializes in Korean rice porridge. It's a big chain from Korea too. The restaurant itself is very small and intimate, and there was only one employee running the whole place when my friends and I came. We ordered seafood mix, spicy octopus, and non-spicy octopus juk and beef bulgogi hot pot. The juk had a nice texture of porridge and the little side dishes that come with them complimented it very well. The spicy octopus wasn't as spicy as I was hoping it to be, but it was still pleasant. The seafood mix juk had significantly more seafood flavor than the three of the juks we ordered, so I highly recommend that one if you are not used to eating mild food like juk. The hotpot beef bulgogi which was basically a hot stone bibimbap was surprisingly pleasant for a restaurant that does not specialize in it. It had ample amount of meat and vegetables along with side of gochujang and specially seasoned soy sauce which actually paired very well with juk as well. Overall juk is juk and is a dish not known to be bursting with flavor, but rather mild and easy for your stomach, making it a perfect meal for breakfast or when you're sick. Don't expect to be served heavily seasoned food and you will enjoy it.

One of my favorite eats when in town. Such a small, authentic Korean porridge shop. Their menu consists of majority of the common types of Korean juk. My favorites are abalone juk and the tendon juk. Service is always friendly, they take a little longer to bring your food out. But it's understandable since porridge takes a little more time to prepare. The quality is always consistent.

I was excited to try Charm Juk because I never had Korean congee, and Charm Juk did not disappoint. I grew up on Chinese congee, so it's one of my favorite comfort food. We tried the spicy octopus and beef juk. Each came at a large bowl with small side dishes on a try. Good flavors and making this a great option for a cold day to have a large warm bowl of congee. Minor preference thing, my spicy octopus juk, while tasted really good, was overloaded with bean sprouts. Some may prefer it, but I felt like every bite is filled with sprouts and sometimes, I just want a nice mouth full of flavored rice.

Excellent service and the kimchi oyster juk was amazing. Place is small, and it was pretty quiet but did not have to wait for seating.

One of my favorite comfort food offerings in the DFW area! Every time a gluten-free/celiac friend of mine is in the area we try to hit up Charm Juk because they offer delicious and generously portioned rice porridges that she can actually eat. My go-to is the abalone juk, which is has a delightful seafood flavor and comes with sides of marinated mushrooms, bean sprouts, and some finely chopped gochujang pickles. I've also enjoyed the oyster juk, the fresh fish juk, and the mixed seafood juk. My friend always gets the chicken juk and loves it. Most recently, my husband and I also tried their beef patty, and it was pretty delightful.Piping hot porridge is perfect cold weather or getting-over-an-illness food. It also manages to retain heat amazingly well. I once ordered the juk to-go, did some shopping at the H-Mart next door, and got home about an hour and a half after picking up the food to find that the porridge was still a great temperature to eat, no reheating necessary. Can't wait for the next time I come back!

We recently visited this porridge place for the first time and I have to say, it was an incredible experience from start to finish. It feels cozy and homier even we know it's a restaurant. The menu was equally impressive. There were so many delicious-sounding porridge and bulgogi plate that we had a hard time deciding what to order. In the end, we went with the chicken porridge and beef bulgogi, and we have to say, it was one of the best meals we've had in a long time. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was neat. The service was also top-notch. Our server was attentive and friendly without being overbearing, and our drinks were always refilled promptly. If you're looking for a warm comfy food experience with exceptional food and service, this is the place to go. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
