I have been coming here for years, I am surprised that I have not reviewed this place. It's a quick meal place or a take out place. The location is not but but the food is always consistent. I usually get a traditional pork momo's and potato on the stick. Both are tasty and I am always satisfied.

I've never had Nepali food before, but tried this place on a whim. I was pleasantly surprised!!! Knowing the geographical location of Nepal, I can definitely see the mix of Indian and Chinese culture in their cuisine. I tried a handful of their dumplings, this stir fried noodles, and a curry. All tasty and prices were very affordable. I love that it stays open late because so people were coming in at 1030pm on a weeknight. Great place to have a small group for a chat/casual dine.

Irving is known for this type of cuisine and I don't go there too often, so I wanted to give a place a try. I decided on Cafemandu because I've never been to a Nepalese place in Dallas before. This place specializes in momo, which is basically a dumpling. It is a very loud atmosphere as the TVs are playing Bollywood/nepalese? Music very loud I got the 10 piece seared kothey, Kathmandu jhol, and chili momos, all pork, as well as a couple mango lassis. My favorite was the chili momo, followed by the seared momo, then the jhol (soupy) momo. The chili momo is spicy and has onions and bell peppers that provide some crunch. The seared tofu is crispy yet has some juice inside of it. They provide some jhol sauce to dip it in. The sauce is nothing too special but it does improve the flavor of the momo. One thing I didn't like is that the wrapping sometimes broke apart easily. The jhol momo is basically a regular steamed momo doused in a bowl of jhol sauce. I felt like the jhol didn't really add anything to the momo. If anything it made it not as good, especially since the momo is drenched in sauce so it broke apart very easily. The mango lassi however was really good, it helped with the chili momo.

Went here after a concert because of its proximity to the Toyota stadium and wow. The cafe is so clean and cozy and it's such a great hangout spot. The lady that helped us was so nice and patient because we asked multiple questions before deciding. I got a mango lassi drink and the fried rice with chicken spicy. The drink was basically mango with yogurt and it was so creamy and delicious. It was very complimentary to the rice dish which was spicy and very yummy. I'll definitely come back and dine in!

This place was notable for being open late and close to the airport, making it the perfect solution to the problem of a delayed flight that left me in Dallas when many options were starting to close. It's a little place with counter service and more of a fast food vibe than most Nepali restaurants, but as fast food goes, dumplings are a good option. They have many preparations of the classic momo, and I ordered the spiciest one, which delivered a vicious initial kick before calming down. The filling was heavy on cabbage, so I was glad that I ordered a pair of tofu skewers, which came with a classic mustard sauce. The soda I got was apparently created by adding spices to unflavored soda water, with the option of using a typical Sprite or Coke as the base instead, which confused me as I'd never been offered that option before. Ordered plain, it was a bit of an odd flavor, and getting a salted soda to wash down a salty meal seemed not the best decision. The food was a bit heavy on oil as well, but for a place open late (perhaps for cab drivers at the airport), this was good fast food.

We stumbled upon Cafemandu and decided to give it a try because none of us have had Nepalese food. It's always exciting to try not only a new place, but also a new cuisine. So we learned that "mo mo" are dumplings). We ordered a couple of different kinds of mo mo with pork. One with a spicy / tangy sauce and one 'plain' with a cup of sauce on the side and several skewers. Given this is the first time trying these dishes, I can't say how it compares with other dishes of the same type. I think the dumpling skin is thicker than I expected (especially when we are thinking soup dumplings, I am used to much thinner skin). The skewers some a mix of some bites were bland and others were spiced up nicely. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Looking for some vegan food after leaving the spa. Google found this place & they had a lot of vegan options! My 1st time trying food from Nepal & it made me want to visit Nepal... Sweet cashier, very patient as she explained the food. Alot like food from India. Very spicy! Our favorites were the mushroom sticks & the tofu sticks. Can't go wrong there, unless U don't like deep fried & they were greasy, but tasty. Cute space w/ what looked like native people dining there & that's a good sign. Took off one star for the grease & the average Salad. Overall not bad...

This review is for the momos only! I got the pork chili momos and the chicken seared momosThe pork chili was packed with lots of flavor (red onions, and jalapeños were included) and the inside was juicy. The seared ones were a bit dryer on the inside and the tomato sauce was not as flavorful as other places I've gotten momos from. If the sauce and the meat was not dry, I'd have given this place a 5/5. Inside had booths and tables. You order at the register. They also serve alcohol which seems like a good place to meet up with some friends to catch up or grab a meal. We got take out and the order did take about at least 15 minutes to come out so it seemed fresh!

We went here for dinner on a Saturday with friends. There were six of us and the booths are not really big enough for six so we had to pull up a table to make enough room. I mention this in case you have a group larger than four people. There are also two large picnic tables outside but the day we went it was too windy and cold to sit outside. The inside is modest but not unattractive. You order at the front counter and they call you when your food is ready. We started with the chicken momo in chili sauce--excellent. Momo was tender and juicy, and to me the spice level was just right. There was a kick but not overly spicy and certainly not scorching hot. We ordered also the steamed pork momo and they were very tender and moist. They reminded me of Chinese dumplings. I also ordered the chicken Sekuwa because it is my new favorite food and it did not disappoint. The chicken was, you guessed it, tender and moist. The two skewers were the spiciest thing we had and I broke out a sweat, but I sweat easily. The flavors are deep and complex. The Sekuwa was beyond delicious. When you finish, you can't wait for more. The heat is cravable. The vegetarian fried rice was also very flavorful. So by now you understand that this restaurant is one big flavor bomb. Absolutely delicious. Prices are very reasonable. There is no waiter service but the person at the front counter was friendly. I would definitely return. If it were not so far from our house, a good 45 minute drive, I would eat here at least once a week.

I love cafemandu! The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, and the pan-fried noodles (chowmein) are a standout. They're perfectly crispy and flavorful--one of the best I've had. Highly recommend this spot for a great meal in a relaxed setting!
