"First review for 2025, and it's dedicated to my favorite lunch place. Blue Goose is a pretty popular dine in spot around noon on a weekday. However, the service is fast and efficient. We're immediately seated. Drinks are refilled. The food comes out in a jiffy after you order. We're not sweating over being late to return to work.They provide complimentary chips and salsa. We added the queso as an appetizer, and it was a delicious addition. There's a lunch menu that applies from 11am-4pm on weekdays. My coworker and I both went for the lunch mesquite grilled fajitas. Let's just simply say we couldn't finish everything. We barely touched the charro beans since we were so full. The corn tortillas were also very good. Another favorite of mine is their enchiladas. I love that they are also available on Uber eats and DoorDash, making it convenient to order when you're too busy to step inside the restaurant."

"This place is slaying in the reviews, and I see no reason to dissent. The core of what they do is great in so many ways: tamales are pure Americana, a cuisine that goes back for thousands of years in the region. They are well suited to the modern world, and people with special dietary needs will find vegan tamales and no gluten. And it's fast, convenient food; mine were heated up in minutes.Ordering a platter with four tamales, I got two of the vegan ones with black beans and two bean and cheese. I could hardly tell the difference between the two, but they were certainly delicious, especially with salsa. More beans and rice on the side made for a filling meal, and at around $10, it's as good of a deal as you're likely to get.The one caveat is that they are not open particularly late, and from what I heard, online ordering closes an hour before close of business. So plan ahead, and head on over."

"We were hungry but not in the mood to go out. Checked my trusty Uber eats and we decided to give this place a try after passing by multiple times in the last year (it's very close to home). Food was fresh and amazing. We shared a beef quesadilla, the flautas with queso and a chicken/beef fajita. Plenty of leftovers and the beans were silky and yummy. Guacamole and tortillas are always important to me and Fajita Pete's did not disappoint. Don't be turned off by the strip mail ambience, we would definitely order again! Prices are a tad high as others have mentioned, but the food and convenience and speed of delivery made it all worth it."

"I tried, I tried and I can't give a good review. I've been here a half a dozen times and the burritos are all the same...luke warm, slightly cooked, and half melted cheese. I've been through the drive-through each time. The people at the drive-through are super nice and welcoming. However, when I leave with their burritos, they're always the same: luke warm (like really luke warm), slightly cooked, and barely melted cheese (like you can see the cheese unmelted). Also, the salsa *3 times* had a hair in it, and the green had a stench I couldn't use *twice*. I hate giving this review, but I really wish they'd fix this. Great location, great concept, and EASY food to make! Their green salsa is decent, but last time I had it, I had a hair in it. I know we all make mistakes, as do restaurants, but c'mon, my experience has been pretty bad. I also asked for either a cold soda, or water...all have been luke warm. I'm sad. I wanted to visit this place weekly, or even more, to my journey to Lowe's but I just can't take the luke warm, almost cold, breakfast burritos anymore. Montes, if you fix this, I will be the first to provide you at least a dozen more visits each month! Pretty please?"

"I can't believe i haven't eatin here sooner, i mean, i have been doing business with them for a while but never ate here til now. And OMG how could i have not eatin here before? Well it's Taco Tuesday and National Taco Day so i figured why not and thank God i did. I sat at the bar and before i could even look at the menu, they dropped chips an salsa down. They give you these even if your just there for a drink. OK, being Taco Tuesday i was lookin to get me some and boy did i. I ordered the Birria Tacos and a shot of Aguasol Tequila. Both of these were great choices. The spices were high and the tastes were great on everything on the plate. The tequila was really good and smooth. I enjoyed every sip.I really enjoyed the employees dedication and friendliness that i delt with. Really impressed and i'll be back to try some of my other favorites soon."

Service can be hit or miss at times, but the servers are very nice and usually pretty quick to get you anything they forgot. Besides serving your standard Mexican food, they do have a few veggie options, including cheese quesadillas, cheese enchiladas and chiles rellenos. We've brought different friends here several times and they always leave satisfied (and have continued coming back). We've been here plenty of times for their breakfast and dinner. La Rueda is BYOB so bring a bottle of champagne and turn your breakfast into a brunch or bring your favorite beer for dinner! Definitely recommend this place."

If you like tortilla soup you must keep reading!We didn't love it when they first opened, BUT they updated the menu and it is so good!!!They have daily happy hour, margaritas are very good and pretty strong. Many options for food on happy hour that are very tasty. But here's the biggest secret - we've compared the chicken tortilla soup at every local Mexican Tex/mex place, and theirs surpasses ALL the others, some by miles. The broth is so deeply flavored and limey. The chicken is shredded so it comes to you in every bite. And the chunks of avocado are fresh and delicious. I can't emphasize this enough - this is THE BEST tasting tortilla soup you will find anywhere around. It's THAT good! Don't cheat yourself by getting the cup. Go for the bowl. You won't regret it!"

For our entrees, we ordered the Flauta Dinner and Beef Fajita Quesadillas--both were absolutely delicious! The meal started off with complimentary chips served with the freshest red salsa (with a nice spicy kick) and a flavorful black bean dip. Everything we tried was excellent, and the portions were huge! We ended up taking most of our food home to enjoy later.The ambiance was great. Our server, Pedro, was friendly and super helpful, making the entire dining experience even better. Overall, a great spot for Tex-Mex, and I can't wait to come back."

Fried catfish is off the hook! 2 large fillets, not greasy, thick cuts, and no "fishy" flavor. Hush puppies: great flavor but small and chewy. Iced tea not over-steeped. Servers are friendly, dining area and restroom are clean. Try this place, you won't be disappointed. A nice alternative to the many surrounding fast food joints."

"Alright so, Booger Red's is "named in honor of the legendary Texas bronc-busting champion Samuel Thomas Privett (1858-1926)." But I still don't know WHY it's called "Booger Red's" specifically.. I guess that was Samuel TP's nickname? But why? Let me go google... Okay I'm back and I sort of regret looking further into this. The story of Booger Red is tragic! What the heck... So Sammy TP was called Red since he was a child because he had red hair. Got that half of his nickname out of the way. He was the greatest "bronco breaker" (poor wild horses) of all time and he's credited with originating the modern day rodeo (ugh not a fan) -- anyway, he advertised himself thusly: "Come and see him ride, the ugliest man dead or alive, Booger Red!" Why was he so ugly, you ask? Because as children of confederate soldiers often did, 12 year old Sammy and his bff were playing with gunpowder on Christmas Day, stuffing a dead tree with it to make fireworks. Sadly the gunpowder exploded early, throwing Sammy 20 feet through the air and killing his poor friend! Sammy lived, but he was gravely injured in the explosion. Legend has it (honestly I've no idea how accurate this story is, so legend has it) that a neighbor kid saw Sammy being carried to the hospital, took one look at his mutilated little face and cried out, "gee, but Red sure is boogered up now!" And apparently "boogered" is an adjective meaning crippled, maimed, or disfigured. Who knew? So poor Sammy was blind in the hospital for six months and while he fully recovered, he was very very disfigured. He basically had no more eyes, nose, or mouth, just little holes.... He was described as looking like "a pumpkin with bullet holes for eyes." So sad! Why did this have to happen?!Anyway, Sammy's family would tease him and call him "Booger Red" after that one rude neighbor kid started it.. I guess the nickname made Sammy laugh, so there you have it. This saloon is named after him! He never stopped breaking broncos and went on to become super famous for it.Booger Red's is right between H3 Ranch and The Stockyards Hotel. It's a long and narrow saloon lined with an enormous bar and giant stools, and some of the stools are saddles. Fun. This saloon is probably the most classic looking and feeling "Wild West saloon" in the stockyards district. It's thoroughly decked out in all things cowboy from the floors to the wall-mounted animals to the paintings of dance hall girls to the vintage pulley fan system lazily circulating air far above your hat hook.Behind the bar is an enormous mounted buffalo butt... lucky for you I'll give you the short story this time: the Hunter brothers (restaurant next door) hunted buffalo and said the only thing that got them through those long hot days of looking at buffalo butts was an ice cold beer. And that's that! Booger Red's is famous for its Buffalo Butt Beer which is crafted in small batches and always served in a bottle, in an ice bucket. You gotta try it at least once. And of course you can order food from H3 Ranch's menu; ribs, steaks, nachos, spit-roasted pig, fried catfish, lots more. It's fun here. It feels like you're on a the set of a western, so just lean into it and spend some time bar-side with your boots up."

"This is our absolutely favorite restaurant in Glen Rose. They have great service and great food. But the plus for us is the kid friendly atmosphere. Our grandson has a menu that he likes, he always eats what he orders from here. I like the salsa because it is made in the store, fresh. There is an area near the dining tables with toys set up for customers (especially the younger ones,) that allows kids to feel at home in the restaurant. I appreciate this because it allows a positive experience for all. I like the menu and have tried several plates. I like the down home atmosphere, and the lovely family history of the restaurant. The kids like to take selfies by the mural and the beautiful flowers in the front. If you want to relax and enjoy having younger kids welcomed, this is the place. This is their choice and if they could review the restaurant they would give it a five and thumbs up. The service is friendly and attention is good. Great iced tea also. We will be going back and are happy to find a family place that takes the stress out of bringing the kids. It is hard to find a restaurant so unique and warm, with good food as well."
