"In 2021, I said... "best biscuits in town." I'm pretty sure that still holds as of now. The biscuits are fluffy, buttery and paired with the best spreads: salted whipped butter, golden natural honey and sweet seasonal jam. You always need to start with an order of these here. Heck, you could go and just get coffee or a cocktail with them. You'd be happy with your breakfast! We were last there with a group so we had an order of biscuits, pimento cheese and entrees. I tried their chicken biscuit sandwich. It had a fried chicken thigh, kale apple slaw and honey. It was delish! Surprisingly, I also really enjoyed the pimento cheese. I'm not a typical pc gal, but this one seemed to have more flavor and heat to it. Overall, we had a really lovely brunch! The entire party seemed happy with the food, service (shout out to Melody for all the water refills and being patient with us!), ambiance and (of course)... the biscuits!"
"I have one review posted that, because of the restaurant's response, went from 1 star to 2. Here's the thing - this restaurant requires two different and separate reviews. One, for a group of 4 or less. Quite another, for anything larger. This restaurant with it's seating and service is tiller made for small groups. You're treated well, you're cool and comfortable, the ambience (in the outer room) and very homey and pleasant. And the food is phenomenal. One of the managers, Angela, is an absolute gem and one of our favorite people in the industry. I think they have the best burgers in the DFW (a hotly contested category). They remind me of a blast from the past - Fuddruckers. For 4 people or less, they are a five star establishment."

"This was the highlight of our trip to Texas! We were meeting a friend who lives in Burkbennet and this was a good halfway point between there and Dallas to meet. And it was very Texas! Decatur is a really cute small town, there wasn't much open on Sunday but I would leave time to walk around if visiting. The service was incredible, our drinks were consistently refilled without ever feeling intrusive. The menu is simple but I would love to be able to try more! I loved the flavored butter on my filet. The vegetables were very fresh, definitely not canned. I wish I had gotten the squash side, it looked amazing! The wedge salad is a very good size, most dishes come with 2 sides and a roll. I had the pecan pie that came with homemade whipped cream for dessert. This place would be a reason for me to go back to Texas! It was the only place we found that had actual soul to it (most of our time was spent in Dallas suburbs)."
"Delicious seafood found here! TIP: When you enter, keep walking straight (through the glass-paned doors) then left to the counter to order/pay, get your coaster before picking a table, & your coaster will vibrate & flash when your order is ready to pickup. So many platter & poboy (aka sandwich) options. Fish fans will be happy (prepared grilled or fried) w/snapper, redfish, catfish, etc. Also, you can enjoy shrimp, oyster, gator, frog legs, hot chicken, & burgers. Fountain drinks, tea, lemonades (including adult versions w/Tito's), & beers (bottled, draft, or can).Decor is fish shake sheik ;-) Gingham-topped tables/booths. Fish & fishing gear everywhere. Special shout-out for the "Liars'' Wall" - photos of people who caught prize fish... love that!"
"My last visit to Babe's was to transport their amazing Fried Chicken Dinner to my mom in Wimberley. She loves their chicken so I ordered a few dinners and picked them up. They are efficient and quick to get your order out to you.Anyways, if you transport the chicken open the box to let it cool faster and so the crust on the chicken doesn't sweat.I have a cooler ready to pack everything in once it cools off. The dinners arrived about 4 hours later and Mom is so funny, she ate the chicken cold for 2 days and know the sides warmed up really well. When your mama craves Babe's, you make it happen!"
"Quality of food and service. Our host even gave us recommendations from the menu and desserts. The coconut pie is delicious!"
"Had a great time with our friends. The chili was fantastic, the wings were great and our server John was very good and pleasant"
"This was our first visit to the new NRH location. The food was better than I remember. My wife and I had the chicken fried steak and my daughter the fried chicken, accompanied by mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, gravy, and biscuits. The meat and sides were great. The decor is redneck as it gets, with an added Christmas pop for the holidays. ;-) The service was excellent, no complaints. The only thing preventing me from returning too soon is my waistline. But we'll be back eventually."
"Great spot to celebrate a special occasion or just to enjoy a nice meal. The menu changes with what is in season. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. The overall atmosphere is nice and inviting, fancy but not intimidating. Will definitely be going to to try more dishes."
"Fried Chicken the way it's supposed to be. The service is first class and the country decor fits the menu. The family serving style is unique and caused more family engagement without cell phone interrupting. Flavors =YUM"
"Everything here is great! The food is just good ol' fashioned home cooking! The people are out of this world amazing! Go for your birthday and have Brenda sing to you! It's a local establishment which is awesome! A wonderful, family environment! Love AYCE Catfish Fridays! Get up and go visit! Kim and Austin work hard and are just as nice as can be! Stop by and God bless..."
"Recently visited breakfast brothers on a team outing and glad my boss lady picked this place! Let me tell you, good fried catfish in the DFW is hard to come buy. This place has it down to a science. The seasonings and the crunch were great! I order the catfish and waffles. While the waffle wasn't my favorite, I was ready to go back the next day for the catfish The space is small and I hope one day the owners will be able to expand. Because of this and their popularity you may find that you have a wait time but the staff manage it well. I will definitely return to try more items. Everyone in our party or 8 enjoyed their food. No complaints! They service breakfast/lunch/dinner menu all day."

I tried Fixe for a Saturday brunch. Simply put, the food and drinks are good. We tried the shrimp and grits, French toast, and fried chicken. I'd order each item again. The blueberry mimosa was good too! I wish they had some holiday themed menu items and cocktails. There were several reservation times available days before Saturday. It's family friendly and there's space for small private events. I haven't enjoyed many brunches in FW, so I'm happy I tried this place. I'll be back.

We had a great dinner at Wildwood. We sat at the bar and Michael and Carter took excellent care of us. To start, we got the dragon dip. We were both amazed at how crispy yet soft the pretzel bread was that was served with the dip. The dip itself was awesome, beer cheese but with a slight heat to it and the mustard seed balanced it nicely. Entree wise, I got the pecan crusted chicken which I would highly recommend. Looking around it seemed to be a popular choice. It didn't taste super nutty, but it made a delectable crust. The chicken cutlet itself very tender and well cooked. My husband and I both were very impressed by the mashed potatoes. Super creamy and rich, no lumps at all. Green beans were obviously very fresh and had a great snap to them. My husband got the weekend special, which was a barramundi with beurre blanc sauce. He very much enjoyed it, I got a bite as well and thought it was good. The beurre blanc sauce with lemon and capers was bright and made a great addition to the fish. I also got an old fashioned; which I would put probably in my top 3 I've ever had. Love that they have Buffalo trace on tap, and quite an expansive assortment of whiskeys available. Like I said, service was great. Water was kept filled and we were checked in with frequently. Would definitely come back!

Ah, Sweetie Pie's Ribeyes--right on the square in little ol' Decatur, Texas. Landed here during a work trip, thinking this might be some small-town tease joint. I mean, come on, "Sweetie Pie's"? Had me recalling a very different type of establishment down in the bayou of Louisiana. But nope, wrong kind of sweetie pies. And honestly? Not a disappointment in sight.Rolled in with six of my fellow coworkers, and let me tell you, these lads know how to eat and drink. A proper posse for a place like this.Me? I went straight for the chicken fried ribeye. Let me paint you a picture: imagine a perfectly tender cut of ribeye, bathed in seasoned batter, and fried to golden perfection. Crispy on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth on the inside, with just the right kick of spice to keep you guessing. Paired it with mac and cheese so creamy it could've doubled as a bedtime lullaby and some broccoli steamed just enough to make you feel slightly better about your life choices. The vibes were as Texas as it gets. They've got a server belting out tunes here and there, a real touch of charm you don't see too often. And then Santa Claus himself strolls in. My mate Old Red, bless him, asks if he can sit on Santa's lap. Classic Red move--no shame in his game. The service? Top-notch. Food? Fantastic. Atmosphere? A perfect blend of small-town warmth and big-time personality. Sweetie Pie's Ribeyes isn't just a restaurant; it's an experience. A must-stop if you're ever in Decatur.Rating: 5 stars--because they earned every one.

Flying fish is consistently an excellent meal! I typically get a fried shrimp po boy and today it did not disappoint! Service is quick and friendly no matter how long the line may be. This restaurant is packed on Fridays during Lent, but do not be discouraged by the line as it moves quickly. This is a very chill and casual spot with a variety of seafood plates

It's not for me, but it's good fried chicken.I don't love the sit down, family style with the same 3 sides.Don't get me wrong, the chicken is delicious and this place is probably great for families! For just my wife and I, it was a bit much. The bad: really no drink selection (no diet Dr pepper, no diet coke, just diet RC).How you gonna call about 19 cents worth of romaine lettuce a "salad" cmon bruh. The corn was very very sweet, beware. The Good:the biscuits and the fried chicken are excellent! The price is decent. The concept is unique for sure and fun as a one time thing if you don't have many mouths to feed.

Whoaw what a service this guys and gals give! As you enter in your warmly greeted and even with a big party they do not miss a step.Food: the catfish was fresh and the chicken was crunnchyyy. I love the family serving style atmosphere. Sides: it was okay. I think that the mash potato was from a powder- it could use some texture. Like the green beans and the corn. The biscuits are delicious. The place was nicely decorated and not too much to the eyeballs. I also love the live singer.

"Music was really good we went last night Tuesday 10/08/2024 for the live band. Food was excellent I got the catfish & shrimp basket with 4 wings. Some of the best catfish I have had in dfw!! Highly recommend. Its a old school chill juke joint type of vibe."
"What a great place to go eat and relax. If you can get Melissa as your waitress ask for her she's the best. Try the fried pickles they are great but so is everything else. Catfish, hush puppies, coleslaw tomatoes and beans was great and lots of it. Oh and try the margaritas best I've had in the DFW area. Get there early because the place has people waiting 20 minutes before they open but the wait is short."
"Really good food!Let's say you pull a book off the shelf. You study the cover and notice it's old, a bit tattered around the edges and faded from time. But, when you open it up, you discover it's a first edition classic novel written and signed by your favorite author. Well. Southern Recipes Grill is the restaurant version of the tired book. The understated owner-operated restaurant certainly over-delivered on customer service and food quality and value. The table service was prompt, friendly and attentive. I don't think we had to ask for anything the entire meal, and that includes the 'to go' boxes at the end...because portion sizes are very generous. The very generous portion sizes were impressive, but the flavor was pleasantly unexpected. The meal was outstanding! We ordered the special, beef tips with mashed potatoes or rice, and two sides. We also ordered pecan pie for desert. Each slice was over sized, and as good a pecan pie as I've had anywhere in recent memory. This was one of the more satisfying meals we have had in a while. The ambiance definitely could use a face lift, both inside and out. It's old and worn out. But, if an unassuming decor is the price for quality food and generous portions at a fair price, leave everything alone. Who knows, maybe the 1980's ambiance will swing towards vouge next year.Overall, I couldn't be happier with our exexperience at Southern. I felt like I got real value for my money. So, should you go? ABSOLUTELY!~Enjoy!~"
"What a great authentic Cajun restaurant!!Located on Bridge Street and Loop 820, this restaurant has a variety of frozen beverages and delicious food. I ordered the Boudin Balls and Crawfish Etouffee for my husband as a to go order and he loved it. I enjoyed my lunch gathering and would love to come back in the evening for Karaoke"
"For starters the young lady who took my order was so Dam sweet she made my tooth hurt . I ordered the two catfish plates with coleslaw and fries and the fries was the only reason this place received 4 stars instead of 5 . Will be going back"
"Food was great and customer service was great as well. You either call ahead or order inside when you get there. Food takes so out 15-20min to be ready. You wait in your car & they'll bring it out to you. You get 2 sides with every entree. I got the 2 piece fried fish with mashed potatoes (you can choose white gravy or brown) and green beans, comes with cornbread and 2 sauces. the total came out to be around $21. The young lady who took my order was soo sweet & kind. The food tasted AMAZING. The fish was so well seasoned that I didn't need any of the sauces. Crispy and hot. Mashed potatoes were buttery. Green beans were just your basic green beans. I barely finished the entire box, it was a lot of food."
"I was walking in downtown Fort Worth, and desperately needed a cool drink and restroom break. I popped into the Omni Hotel to use their Starbucks -- and found this fantastic bar and lounge, Whisky and Rye. Aptly named, their Old Fashioned was superb. The ambiance was purely country, and the music was pure country heaven. How fortunate to have needed a restroom break and find this upscale watering hole with sports on big screens and pool table! My hubby and I came in twice for drinks during our trip. Staff was excellent, too, which makes the experience all the more enjoyable. thank you, Whiskey and Rye. My favorite alcohols."
"I love this place. They are never out of items , everything is always fresh and cooked perfectly. I was get the gizzards here. I always get more than I ordered, the batter is never too greasy and always seasoned well. The Cole slaws tasted fresh and was not watery. The mash potatoes were very creamy and smooth. Their lemonade is also very good. Their regular fried chicken is made with that same crunchy light batter, always juicy and never dry!"
"Well well, I finally got over to this little country spot that I've never tried before although I had heard a lot about. It was a cold day so I was in the mood for some good old comfort food and my friend at work suggested the Cotton Patch and I said okay I've never been there let's give it a try and I wasn't disappointed. I ordered the country fried steak with jalapeno cream gravy garlic mashed potatoes and mac and cheese and it was delicious, especially the country fried steak with that jalapeno cream gravy in the portion was huge. Now I know if I want a good country fried steak at a good price close to the house I know where to go, I will say the service was a little slow in the food took a little too long to come out but at least it came out well. All in all I would recommend Cotton Patch to others and I will be back."
"Came to have lunch with my sister. It was alright. Our server wasn't very attentive unless I caught her attention. Her name was Jade. For an appetizer, we got the queso with beef. When she brought it out it didn't have the beef and she mentioned she didn't hear me ask for it. May be because as I was talking to her she started walking off before I was done talking. The dip came out hot and was good but not ggreat. Ordered the blackened salmon with side caesar and brocolli casserole. The salmon came out normal not blackened and was also a little over cooked. The dressing for the caesar side was alright. Not the best but not the worst. When I eventually got the brocolli casserole it was cold. Once she got other tables, we had to flag her down to get her attention. She would keep walking by our table and not ask if we needed anything. We needed to go boxes, to go drinks, and the check. She said it was on the computer on the table which it wasn't. Asked for just the print out check and she brought me a computer for the table to do everything. In which the gift card I had would not work on it. Had to get up and take the gift card to her to get it taken off my bill. I wasn't totally thrilled about the experience. Server could have been better but you never know what someone may be going through. Maybe she was just having an off day."
"Beer was cold and fresh and ambiance was perfect. Beer menu was extensive and the coffee porter was special Mimosa flights were also wonderful"
"The food is Southern down home style. Lots of gravy for the Chicken Fried Steaks and Chicken Fried Chicken. My whole family loves it."
"First of all, the food here is amazing. Hand down some of the best fried chicken and catfish I've had in the DFW area! The pieces are really well fried, flavorful, and juicy. The Mac and cheese was appropriately cheesy and was well seasoned, and the okra was also good (although I wish it could've been a bit better). The portions are big enough to split with another person or save some for a second meal. Don't be fooled, the food is so good but it is rich and heavy! The place itself is super tiny and most people took their food to go. There is a wait to get the food so order in advance. This is not a sit down restaurant or a place to bring a large group. For this purpose, I really wouldn't recommend it for lunch for a group. But if bringing back to place of work, then it's ok. As far as value, I thought it was a bit on the high side, I think I paid around $25 (I tipped although I took away) for lunch. Next time, I would rather order a la carte and share with a group of people."
"Southern Eats was a great place to get kitchen and cocktails. Menu was easy to read and had plenty of options to choose from. I are off the brunch menu. My catfish and waffles was great. Happy hour drinks were excellent..the Daiquiris were great."
"The tenders were really good! I got mild and they were exactly mild lol next time I will try a step up. I was expecting different fries based on the pictures I seen here but they were regular which was a bummer for me. I wasn't a fan of the sauce they gave with the tenders but that's just a personal preference as I don't like pickles on my chicken & the sauce had a creamy pickle-y taste. The tenders were perfectly crispy on the outside but juicy on the inside which I loveeedddd!"
"Let me start by saying this is Cracker Barrel, you know what to expect. The service was prompt, friendly, and kind. The food was just OK. Will we be back, sure of course, it is what it is....."
"The service wow chefs kiss for real. They treat you like family and even though the establishment itself doesn't look like much, it was such a vibe as soon as we walked in. The food was pretty average and average price (get the family to share) wow the sides were really solid; fantastic fries and solid mac and cheese. Tartar sauce was not my favorite but the hot sauce was yummy. We also got free daiquiris since we tipped and it was really delicious. Come here if you are looking for some home style cooking and to feel like family."
"My work friend took me there. He had the pork chop plate and OMG, huge chunk of pork and the sides were pretty big too! I had the cheeseburger, which was also huge and very flavorful...I didn't leave a crumb lol. The waiter was super sweet and with a great sense of humor. The owners are Latinos and make you feel right at home! I can tell they have their regulars."
"Cheddars is probably one of the best restaurants in the Burleson/Crowley area (in my opinion). Our waiter Cain/Cane was so amazing, he seemed like he loved his job and was constantly making sure everyone was good. The food was really good, the steak was cooked to perfection and my party had no complaints. I'm definitely going to come back"
"The Budlong Southern Chicken is a fried chicken sandwich chain that serves Nashville Hot chicken sandwiches that uses chicken thighs instead of breast. This is the first location in Texas. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return)Atmosphere - The Budlong Southern Chicken is located behind Bar Louie in the Toyota Music Factory. Like all restaurants at TMF, try to get street parking, otherwise you have to park in the garage, which can be busy on event days. The restaurant itself is a long, quick serve style restaurant with booths along the sides, tables in the middle, and cool Budlong art and murals on the wall. If only it had better parking.... 1/2 Star.Service - The staff is super nice. We went on a grand opening day where the line was to the door, but the staff were all smiles, were super patient with our orders, and made sure we would enjoy our meals. Like most quick service restaurants, you order, give them your name, then wait for your food to come out. 1 StarFood - I ordered the original Nashville Hot chicken sandwich with Cajun potato salad. Kudos to Budlong because the thigh meat works. The chicken was hot, plump, juicy, and contained a good amount of heat. The soft, spongy bun held the chicken and slaw well. The slaw cooled the heat a little, and the cold, creamy Cajun potato salad cooled it a lot. IMO, it was a perfect paring. I chose the buttermilk ranch. And while I didn't dip my sandwich in it, my teens ate it with their hot, crispy crinkle-cut fries. But the star of my meal was the fried corn bread. Served with sweet butter, who knew boring cornbread could be transformed into such greatness? The only downer was the chocolate pie. The dough was very chewy and the chocolate a bit gooey. Otherwise, a great meal! 1 1/2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. While I'm not a fan of the parking at Toyota Music Factory, I'm happy that I now have a great local option (I live in Irving) for Nashville Hot Chicken. I'll be back for that fried corn bread! 1 Star"
"As a part of my pre-birthday celebration, we decided to stay in Arlington. It is a really nice ambiance. The wait for food was a little lengthy but I understand that good help is hard to find. My friend ordered the Chicken and Waffles. Great taste, even better with warmed syrup. I ordered Shrimp and Grits w/ a side of bacon. The bacon was cooked just the way I like it. The grilled shrimp in the grits were okay. However, the gravy on the grits had a cajun flare but the grits were bland. Also, there were baby shrimp, onions, and corn kernels in the Grits. Not a fan of all of that. I didn't taste any cheese in the Grits. Maybe the lunch/dinner will be better. Oh by the way, you can't order anything other than the combinations on the menu. For example, I only wanted the fried boneless chicken to take home but I had to order chicken and waffles because their register wasn't set up to separate items."
"The food arrived and was very healthy, still warm and you can taste that all the ingredients were very fresh. The service was decent and the atmosphere I can't comment on because this was UberEats order as I learn the area. But I can assure you that I will be making a visit on my next order because this has been by far one of the most decent breakfast meals in the area. They are doing it right and I am looking forward to trying some other things on the menu. Breakfast 1+2=4 was deliciousAnd Breakfast #1 was just as goodWas hoping for some home fries but the Biscuits and gravy were on point.Bacon was fresh and firmSausage was okayAnd the eggs were good"
"This place was unreal! I got the Southern slapped garden salad and the flavor depth was amazing. The portion is perfect size and doesn't leave you feeling too full. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Also DEF get a cookie."
