"Nice park.We wanted to enjoy the early evening weather and take a stroll. We stopped by Debusk Park since they have a nice walking/jogging path. The trail runs all the way around the park. Most of it is cement, but there are sections of it that are bridges made out of wood, so watch your step. It helps break up the monotony of running on you average sidewalk. The path goes up and down some nice hills, through heavily wooded areas, and right along the side of some residential streets. There is a opening where you run next to and cross over a creek, so I can imagine that the mosquito population here can be pretty heavy. Be careful and wear some DEET. Probably the crown jewel of this park (for some people, not for me), is this huge play ground. When I say huge, I mean HUGE!!! It's a pretty massive structure of wooden beams and planks to climb and play on. The path cuts right by it, so if you take it the whole 1.44 miles around, you'll pass by it!Cool place if you want a change of scenery and a nice trail to walk. If you're close by, take a walk and enjoy Mesquite!"
"PLANO, TX: This is a pretty good park, lots of parking, right next to shopping, and it's big. For the location, access and proximity there is little left to be desired for a regular suburban city park."
"Probably the best all around park in Haltom City (from what I can tell).Excellent playground area, several baseball fields (in pretty good condition), a tennis court, pavilion, a roller hockey court (and probably the only one for a while) a couple of make-shift football fields, and a splash park during the summer.Plus, it's located next to the Haltom City Rec Center so you have access to indoor basketball courts (though I'm not sure if you have to be a resident to use them). This park is almost perfect, till you see some areas that were either abandoned projects or vandalized equipment. But overall, the rest of the park is great."
"Cute little spot by a friend's neighborhood. Awesome that it has a nice clean playground, tennis courts, a pool, and most importantly, plenty of trees! And the rock wall is easily my favorite part of this park... the best rock wall I've seen at a park in Richardson!Definitely worth a visit if you've got little ones."
"It's always nice when we do get a chance to come here. Just wanted the kiddos to have a lil bit of normalcy. They have been great troopers and had a blast. The park was clean and debris free and smelled like chlorine... when things get back to normal we will be back more. Until then it was fun, nice and cool for the kids to have a day of freedom."
"First time at Epic Central Park. I've been wanting to try the Chicken N Pickle, but haven't had a chance to play pickleball there yet. Walked around with my family and tried Vidorra, which was pretty good Mexican food. The park has some nice areas to walk or bike and other areas like the grassy fields to sit and enjoy the surrounding. We didn't stay late enough to see the fountain lights that start at 830p. Maybe next time. Otherwise, a really nice place to just enjoy the weather, while walking. We checked out the water park area which is $25 per person, which isn't bad. Maybe next time we can go there. It's a perfect place to take your family, go out with friends or on a date or even just to exercise."
"What a beautiful park. As we went down to play some tennis here at The Kiest Tennis Club. This Tennis Club is surrounded by beautiful trees and when the weather is perfect like it was for us, its so relaxing as well. These tennis courts are gated in and the courts are well maintained. The park area is also well up kept. There is private tennis practices going on sometimes in the bottom courts and then their is a school that practices till like 5pm most days. Outside of that, it looks as if the courts are open to the community. So if you are in the area, and looking for a place to play tennis for a few hours, this is the place right here!"
"Very cute park! And very well built! I am neglecting one star because there are a ton of places for little ones to fall off of things. None the less, it's a great spot! I especially liked how much shade it has with the low hanging trees all around! A very fun place and also not very busy which I really appreciated!"
"We made trip here to see the new park. Located right across the street south from Ford Center in Frisco. Limited parking around edge of park so if event being held there plan on parking at nearby Star parking garage and walk over. Next door to condos and hotel so great for them. Small playground for kids but with interesting challenges for them. And for parents to watch. There are a number of areas suitable to hold events/parties provided they put more shade up for hot days in Texas. Park was lighted for Christmas season when we visited."
"We just had the pleasure of attending a baby shower at the new Richard Simpson Center that's replaced the tiny one-room building on the shore of Lake Arlington. The party was held on the side facing the lake, with a room to comfortably fit about 75 people with the tables and chairs for those guests. The room opens up to an elevated, covered patio that could hold about 50 more people. The center is well-lit, air-conditioned, overseen by park employees, and most importantly, has clean restrooms! The shower hostess, luckily, had enough forethought to rent out a bounce house to alleviate the number of restless kiddos inside. They set it up in a patch of grass that seemed like it was made specifically to hold a bounce house. Beyond that is a covered pavilion before reaching the boat ramps. For more info on booking the Simpson Center and other info, visit their page on the City of Arlington website: https://naturallyfun.org/richard-simpson-park"
"This is the first place I've been and done a review on that 5 stars is simply not enough for sharing how wonderful it is.My sister-in-law lives in the Rockwall area and she is the one I heard about this place from. My youngest daughter has Autism and is non-verbal so finding a park that is secure yet allows her to run around and play just like any neuro-typical child means the world to us. This park has a fence all the way around the play area with gates with special locks on them to keep the kiddos safe. The second huge advantage to this park is the shades that cover almost all of the play equipment with a UV resistant material keeping everyone safe from the sun. The shade also helps children with sensory disorders play without an overload of discomfort from the brightness of the sun. The equipment itself is handicap friendly. The main play structure has an opening that is wheelchair friendly. There's also a swing that is made with a much larger amount of plastic to allow special needs kiddos the chance to swing. The folks who designed the equipment made sure there are many sensory activities to enjoy throughout the play area. I'm not sure who had the most fun the adults in our group or the kids. There's an indoor bathroom that is clean, drinking fountain during the warmer months. I'm not sure when they open up for the season after winter is over with. There's also baseball fields to practice and play on as well. The parking is a bit small but that's my only lack luster issue the place has which is pretty darn good for a park.I simply can not say enough great things about this place. My only wish is that it was located closer to my house. It's worth the drive to Rockwall from the Louisville area to us in order to enjoy this amazing park."

I have taken my son to lots of parks in the area and this one is really impressive. It's got 3 wooden structures with many hidden passages and and slides. My son had a great time but I have to knock off a star because it's almost too big. visibility is low because of the way the structures are built so if you have a crazy toddler that you cant trust to play from afar I would suggest a different park. You could easily lose sight of a toddler and have to really stay on your toes here.

Back for Texas Forever Fest, sponsored by H-E-B, on Saturday, March 25 2023. Go to website for details. Lots of stuff to do and eat. I posted many new photos of lots lots of people; friends and families having a good time. Weather was perfect. BTW: finding a parking spot required a lot of driving around so don't tell anyone to check out the east side of city hall fronting K Ave.

We were told about this park by one of the Haltom City workers! We didn't even know it was tucked back behind the Rec Center WITH a splash pad. He also said it has just been completed and since not many people know it's ready it isn't as crowded as White's Branch Park. There is a tennis court, baseball field, basketball court, play equipment and splash pad (open Memorial Day to Labor Day, everyday except Wednesday starting at 10am). My kiddo was so excited to play today and no one else was here, so fun.I know by writing this review it'll attract more kids but that's okay, there's plenty of room for everyone to enjoy this space :)

I love this place! It is certainly the BEST kids park west of Central Expressway! The padded surface under the playground gives me peace of mind when my kid is climbing high on his "pirate's ship"! Clean surroundings, not a lot of traffic, great play equipment for the kiddos. It's all you could ever ask for!

The splash pad is great. Amazing, really, how much more fun a splash pad with SLIDES are. My kids thought it was a waterpark (clearly, they've never been to a waterpark). SO FUN though - the best splash pad we've been to in dfw so far.The rest of the park sucks. The bathrooms are disgusting - sticky pee all over the floor, no ventilation, and the humid scent of human waste. It was so bad I made my kids pee in the grass behind the restrooms instead. There is a playground separate from the splash pad. Small and old. Picture the faded Little Tikes plastic playhouse the previous owners left in your backyard from when their kids were toddlers a decade ago. That's pretty much this playground. There is a covered pavilion with picnic benches and 2 benches under a small shade canopy by the splash pad. The park has some trees that offer minimal shade, but it's not enough to cover everyone visiting the park on a weekend. To sum this up, it's a 2 star park with a 5 star splash pad. We will for sure be back to play in that water, but nothing else about the park would bring me to make the drive.

Gorgeous park to take a walk around. There is a beautiful fountain in the lake. There are many restaurants along the walkway to choose from. This is a great place to bring a family.

Eff White Rock! Keist Park has the BEST walking trail in Dallas. Plenty of shade and best of all, no obnoxious bikers or gaggles of running clubs.Aside from the most excellent walking trail, they have a community center, play grounds, soccer fields, tennis courts, picnic areas, EVERYTHING! Plus, I used to have my Girl Scout troop meetings here so I get a little nostalgic every time I visit:-) I love this place!

"Took the kids here on a 107 degree day last week, it's only $2 per person and it's cash only. They have 3 areas with different kinds of things that spray or drop water on you. We got absolutely soaked and the kids had a blast. Definitely great deal for the $2."
"This is a great park. The playground is new and fun, with features kids love - like a zip line and sitting merry go round. It's plenty big, with a baby section and a big kid section. There are swings, multiple slides, and an assortment of bridges and ropes to climb on. The best part are the expansive shade canopies, which cover the majority of the structure and allow for play in both sun and rain (although, on a rainy morning like this morning, they don't prevent the kids from getting wet or the structure from being slippery. But hey, this just adds to the fun!). Bark ground covering. The one downside here is that the spectator benches are outside of the canopy, away from any trees, and in full sun. I'm thankful they covered the play area, but why no love for the mamas on the sidelines? Not far from the playground there is a large pavilion and multiple covered picnic tables. They aren't right next to the playground like the benches are, but they're close enough to still be within earshot of the kids. It's a fine solution for hot, sunny days. The park also has volleyball courts, baseball fields, and a nice bathroom with plenty of stalls."
"shameless plug... I made a lot of the signs! great park! https://www.facebook.com/share/p/3ThP7v3ygCH2A491/?"
"Checked this out with my kids and it was very nice! Could use more shaded areas, but otherwise a very nice and inclusive park. The pavilion area was shaded and that's where a handful of parents were sitting, but it smelled like something was rotting over there. Seriously I couldn't take my younger kiddo on swings because of the smell (I'm sure I'm overreacting so not deducting stars). Wasn't too busy for a Sunday morning, which was nice. Plenty of place to run around and I LOVE that there was only one point of entry, even if other folks kept leaving the door wide open. Will definitely return when it is not a heat wave."
"All of the parks in Burleson are in great shape and well-maintained and this one mainly has a playground for the little kids to play on. This one is in Old Town so if you're spending the day there with the kids and need for them to burn off some energy, this is a nice little getaway."
"There's a nice path for bikes and jogging. You can park along side of the lake but I took the road all the way down to the parking lot and got out. Dragonflies, turtles, and ducks oh my. I will visit again. E.B. on and on and on and on."
"Cute little playground I stumbled upon just searching the Yelp app. Of course my son just wanted to play in the wood chips lol. Bonus when a park has a bathroom!"
"This park a combination of paved and dirt paths, its around 3 miles out and back has some elevation and plenty of shade nice playground area's, artscapes & Longhorns grazin along the paved which connects with Bear Creek and the Keller Recreation Center. Well maintained and clean, the parks department does great with upkeep. This is the spot to be on those hot summer days."
"Stumbled across this park while checking out another two parks in the vicinity. It was very well laid out with easy street parking along the curb. I was impressed with the amount of shade provided by the trees. As hot as it has been lately, it was a relief to escape the rays of the sun. There is a children's playground and tables for the adults to use. Overall, I enjoyed walking around the park. If it was located a little more conveniently to where I lived, of course I would come out here more often. Come check it out!"
"Great park. Structure looks new and has some fun, unique components, like carousel swings and a seated merry-go-round.The bathrooms are a stone's throw from the play structure, which is a HUGE PLUS.The flooring under the main play structure is rubber, but the swings have a bark bottom. There is a nice sized pavilion with picnic benches under it off to the side and a large grassy area behind that. The park is surrounded by mature trees, but unfortunately the area right around the playground was cleared out so there is no shade on the structure aside from two small canopies (which cover only a portion of the play structure). There is only one bench for the mamas and it's in full sun as well.I wouldn't recommend this park in the heat and sun of the summer, but on a cool or cloudy day, it's a fun playground to add to your rotation."
"Fair Park originated in 1886 when the Dallas State Fair Assoc was chartered by the State of Texas. 80 acres of cotton field was selected east of Dallas for the fair grounds. And so the beginning of a great place, great stories and great people was born. Little did those original founders realize almost 150 years later the site would be expanded and still enjoyed. In 1936 the Texas Centennial was celebrated here. Dozens of new Art Deco buildings were constructed to house the exposition. Today most of these buildings still stand, have been restored or refurbished and act as exhibit and activity locations throughout the year and during the Great State Fair of Texas every fall.In 1955 the Fair Park Coliseum was built to house the Dallas Black Hawks ice hockey team and Dallas Chaparrals basketball team. I attended several rock concerts in this 8500 seat venue in the 1970s.So,after a lifetime of memories out here, today I find myself attending a Monster Truck event. My first ever at something like this and I'll have to admit, exciting.Loud, crowded and fun!I encourage everyone new to Dallas to search Fair Park for activities to attend. Between the two music venues, football stadium, aquarium and other buildings... always something going on to interest everyone."
"Since the park is only around 30 minutes from home, it is one of our favorite RV spots to go to for a quick long weekend getaway. The park is always kept in tiptop shape and is patrolled on a regular basis by the park rangers as well as, sometimes, the Grand Prairie police. This is a City of Grand Prairie park. The newest addition to the park is a group lodge for large gatherings. For a couple of decades, I have led many large RV rallies at the park. They have wonderful group loops with campsites surrounding the loops. Each of the group loops has a covered pavilion in the center for the loops use. Loyd Park is wonderful, very inviting was a warm and helpful staff."
"This is a nice little park nestled in an established neighborhood. There are a couple of climbing structures and slides and swings that kids will enjoy especially because they are shaded by the trees. The area is also closed in with a chain-link fence and if you make sure the gate is closed it's a nice place to bring dogs as long as they are nice to others around and that any people there don't mind. And of course you must pick up after them as well. This is park is well maintained by the city."
"This is a hidden gem for sure. It's a park you can't pass by. It is right in the center of a wealthy neighborhood. There's a large soccer goal, a small playground, picnic tables and a winding path that surrounds the park. There's also a free library. I forgot to mention there are benches along the way too. This park is very popular. Soccer practice is held here. Soccer Moms are waiting for their kids to finish, in their top of the line Suv's or cars. A few dog walkers and some kids at the playground. It's also great place for pictures and you can appreciation the artitecture of the homes too.Crowd is reserved and it would be nice if they had a porta potty. Area can be busy with traffic.I would definitely recommend this park."
"This is a really great place to play and have a picnic. Lots of interactive playground equipment for ages 2-5. Would also be a wonderful location for an outdoor birthday party or reunion. Convenient location to Jack Carter Pool, as well. Plenty of parking spaces, shaded areas & benches and the bathrooms are kept very clean!"
"Absolutely LOVE this park!It is usually always clean, well-lit and has plenty of playgrounds and activities for the kids to play on! Our absolute favorite is the mini merry-go-round that is right by the entrance to the park. It tilts a bit and that makes it spin even faster. Not many parks offer this and we loved it!They also have bleachers and plenty of benches! There is also a beautiful walking trail for those looking to work-out or run while their children play!My only downsides are that there are no bathrooms. They were torn down in 2009. There is a disgusting porta-a-potty that I would never use. Also, like the previous poster said, there are NO parking spaces! You must park on the street and risk getting hit by a car while getting our of your vehicle. I'd definitely recommend this for families. Beautiful park!"
"Them trails hit different on a bike. Walking biking hiking boating or eating it's all good here there's always a good time to be had on the Trinity trails. Did you know the raccoons come out at night not just one or two I mean the whole race comes out to eat and they are faaaaat!! Keep it moving and don't pet them."
"Though this place has two water areas, a water pad for little ones and a large wave pool for everyone else, it's pretty nice. I took three 12 year old boys there today and was not sure if they would bore quickly. From what I gathered, they did not. And thuere's quite a bit of shade to grab if you get there early, like 11am. By the time I sat down and got settled, I was in perfect position to read a book and people watch. People come in droves though. Get there early to get a spot and a chair. You can bring your own food and drinks, no glass...they WILL make you give up the jar or put the contents in a baggie no matter what is is....even salsa!I was there on a Groupon. Enjoyed ourselves very much. But it's cheap anyway. Give it a try."
"Fort Worth Water Gardens is a beautiful and refreshing oasis that is conviently adjacent to the convention center and is free of charge to the public. We came through on a weekday during the winter months of Texas to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and just to relax and enjoy the scenic views the water gardens have to offer. When coming here, you can easily find parking downtown at the meters where you can go online and pay by your phone. There are multiple parts of the garden where they have different areas to view in this city park. This is definitely a place to take pictures with friends and family that will last a lifetime. The main attraction is by the Omni hotel, where you can take steps down to a water fountain and enjoy the glistening sound of the water flowing through the rocks. This is where the majority of the pictures are taken, and people simply hang out. There are signs posted throughout the attraction warning visitors to not jump in and swim, which I can definitely see a lot of this happening during the hot Texas summers.Overall, this free attraction is worth checking out if you're in the area with friends and want a break from the city and just to simply relax and keep your mind at ease. Don't forget your camera!"
"Texas is synonymous with spacious. This park fits that mold. While it is not overly impressive in infrastructure, it fills a need in the community by having plenty of room to take in grass, sports fields, and even a body of water."
"This park is by far ONE of the best that I have been to in the DFW are. The trail goes for days and there's such lush greenery. Not to mention there are actually gym equipment bolted into the ground to be used by locals who are visiting the park. Well, of course you can't use the gym equipment here now as Covid is going on, but the is at least an elliptical and a bench and I believe some other equipment. As for the trail, there's several sections to the trail, there's parks and honestly there's just space to run free and chill. There's also a basketball court too. If you've ever visited any of the awesome trials in San Antonio, this trial will remind you of those. One of those trials where you can truly just relax, run, walk, or cycle."
"Love this park. Even has a separate playground for toddlers. Totally worth driving way out of the way for!"
"There is no better place to be on a hot summer day than waterworks! We have bought season passes the last two years and love it.There are numerous large water slides for bigger kids and adults. One is actually pretty scary! There is a huge play area for the little ones with plenty of lifeguards so that you feel it's OK to take your eye off for a minute. Then there is a really cool lazy river that my kids would spend the entire day in. Again there's plenty of lifeguards to make sure everybody's OK. They have plenty of tubes if you would like to ride in the lazy river. There are lots of tables and chairs to relax on. Usually by 1 o'clock it's pretty full so I would recommend going early to get a table. One of the best things about the waterpark is that you can bring your own food, just no glass. We always take our lunch and have a picnic. It is always super clean. Lifeguards are always really friendly. It's just a really great place to go!"
