"GLUTEN FREE SUSHI HEREI just want to make that clear and easy for others to find because it is such a struggle to find sushi that is labeled as gluten free in DFW. We came to Oishii on a whim, after finding ourselves in Dallas and craving sushi. We used to go to Sushi Zushi years ago, but its closed and we did not know where else we could trust. We found Oishii on Yelp and saw the menu had gluten free labeled, so we went. Not having a reservation, they sat us at the bar. Sonya, the bartender was very friendly and attentive to us. We had ever roll labeled gluten free plus I had a bowl of pho. Everything was good. Even when they forgot the rare beef in my pho, and I did not realize it right away, they brought it and a bowl of fresh hot broth to cook it in. All around, great food and service. If we find ourselves back in Dallas, we will be sure to come back!"
"This is a review for vegetarian options in sushi: We got the vegetable roll and vegetable tempura roll, both are on the menu and they were good! The service is great with casual ambiance. Loved our time here!"

"The food is amazing!!! Had sashimi and edamame. Were delicious, high quality and affordable!"
"Food and drink was outstanding. I did not take enough pics....got pulled into conversation and drinks. The atmosphere was vibrant and the staff was attentive and answered all of our questions.Really very good experience all around. Absolutely will be back!"
"We came here for a special occasion dinner and it made our evening even more special! The service was outstanding. We couldn't have been more pleased with our server's knowledge and ability to explain the dishes to us. He offered suggestions and made sure we were happy with our choices. It goes without saying that the food was amazing. We ordered the tasting menu and loved every dish. The ambiance was intimate and yet still lively. We had fun watching the chefs preparing our dishes. It was a wonderful way to celebrate a special occasion!"
"This is my 3rd time coming here , and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance is serene and inviting, with a modern yet cozy décor that immediately sets a relaxed tone. The sushi itself was nothing short of spectacular. Every piece was fresh, expertly crafted, and bursting with flavor. The variety on the menu catered to both traditional sushi lovers and those looking for something more innovative.Service was prompt and attentive without being intrusive. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and were happy to make recommendations based on our preferences.Additionally, the pricing was reasonable considering the quality and presentation of the food. For those who appreciate a great sushi experience. Its definitely worth a visit. I'll certainly be returning soon!"
"I have worked over in this area for 10+ years and never knew this place was here! Not surprising as it's a tiny little blink-and-you'll-miss-it place. Hubs loves sushi and we were looking for a new place we'd never been to before so we came here for father's day. It wasn't busy when we arrived at lunch time so we were seated right away. There are maybe 5-7 tables, several chairs seated around the sushi chefs, and a room with a large table if you dine with a big party. Our waitress great and very attentive. I ordered the hot saki which was yummy and had me feeling quite nice by the end! The boys ordered 3 sushi rolls: Cali '69, Rocky, and I can't remember the name of the 3rd. Everything tasted fresh and the sauces provided were a nice touch. I ordered the teriyaki chicken bento box which came with a small salad, miso soup, rice, chicken and veggies. The salad was so so so good! The dressing, tasted like a peanut dressing, was the star and I could probably drink it! The miso soup was very good as well and the chicken was tender. We had a great experience so we will keep this place in mind when we are craving some good sushi!"
"Had a nice time with my sister. Took her out for her bday. Happy hour prices were good. Our server Antonio was new, but he did a great job. He is learning about sushi."
"LOVE YAMA!!! Excellent sushi! There are always new things to try. This is a cool spot ;)"
"Was recommended this place from Arlington Foodies, specifically their happy hour, and it was fantastic. Going during happy hour is SO worth it - rolls and some other food options are also on happy hour in addition to some drinks. We were able to walk out of there with a very reasonable bill, and we had multiple drinks and rolls. We'll definitely be back!"
"This was such a unique dining experience. It is so fun to try new things! This is a great Japanese comfort food restaurant in Carrollton that is located in a shopping center with predominantly Asian restaurants. You could enjoy a different restaurant everyday in this area and it would take quite some time to exhaust them all. The decor is minimalist and very clean. The tables are pretty large and would fit multiple items or large bento boxes and not be crowded. We ordered unsweetened ice tea and it is freshly brewed which was appreciated. We started out with the Sunomono (cucumber salad with vinaigrette dressing and shredded crab.) This was such a delicious, light and refreshing appetizer that I would definitely get again. For our entrees we ordered the Unagi Ekiben containing grilled fresh water eel with Japanese style side dishes over rice. The Ekiben was served with shrimp tempura, miso soup, and side salad. I rarely eat tempura but the shrimp was absolutely delish dipped in the vinaigrette that was in the cucumber salad. Wow! It was a flavor explosion and perfectly crispy. The eel combined with the Japanese fresh pickles was an abolute umami bomb and I loved it. It was fantastic. My husband ordered the Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box and enjoyed (that tempura yam!) although the chicken was a touch dry and he said he would probably order the eel next. The menu has so many nice choices that it was difficult to make a decision! Oh well! I guess I better go again some day and try some more of Abe's delicious morsels! I highly recommend this restaurant. You can tell the owners operate with excellence."
"Love this restaurant for a chill omakase!! :)I apparently started this review eons ago, but forgot to finish it. Oops.If you're looking for omakase, come check out Mr. Sushi. Came recommended by friends, is obviously recommended on Yelp, and is DELICIOUS. It is NOT a set course omakase (at least when we went, it wasn't). We sat down at the bar (come earlier than later!), said hit us with sushi/omakase, and they kept the fish rolling until we said we were stuffed. :)Please see photos for drool-inducing deliciousness.I look forward to coming back for my bday!"

This sushi spot is definitely in my top 5 in Dallas. It was soooo good and I got full really fast. The pictures I've posted with this review are the top rolls I like from here. The food came out fast. My server was so sweet. I forgot to get her name and the ambiance is casual. It's people there but it's not too loud. I will definitely be back.

Shiawase came highly recommended! The fish was incredibly fresh, the prices were just as delightful, and our waitress was top-notch. They even made our Valentine's date (and 30th Wedding Anniversary) extra special by shaping our rolls into a heart--such a fun and thoughtful touch. We truly appreciate the effort they put into making our night memorable!

Went back to see our Chef Alfredo and AGAIN, this place rocked! The sushi is so FLAVORFUL and the menu has EVERYTHING you could want and more. The chefs and staff provided AWESOME service and the restaurant is a good size but quiet and very welcoming. I took more pics this time to post (after the first two rolls which went too quick).

Eric R.'s parents treated us to a delicious meal here the night before my birthday. I made reservations a few weeks in advance since I have waited years to eat here. Tei-An is one of my favorite restaurants of all time, so I knew its sister would be just as amazing. Our server Zoe was very kind and helpful throughout the meal. I ordered Asahi on draft, Eric R. got hot green tea, and his mom ordered unfiltered nigori sake (she wanted sweet sake, but did not end up liking the idea of "milky sweet"). I tasted the sake and thought it was nice and smooth. His parents started with fried oysters, and Eric R. and I got the baby yellowtail carpaccio. We shared assorted vegetable tempura next, which had purple sweet potato, green beans, maitake mushrooms, and shishito peppers. Next we had the beef on hot rock where we each cooked slices of beef. That was fun and interactive. I ordered the octopus leg robata imagining it would be on a stick like we had in Japan, but it was actually sliced very thinly and served with yuzu kosho. I liked this a lot because the slices were tender and easy to chew but had a strong grilled flavor. I had never had octopus prepared like this before. Eric R. and his parents shared the baby back ribs since I do not eat pork. They seemed very tender.I ordered the yaki onigiri with yuzu kosho and shared that with Eric R. and his mom. It was a flavorful grilled rice ball with yuzu kosho served with daikon and cucumber pickles topped with bonito flakes. Our sushi course came last. I enjoyed Hokkaido uni gunkan and Spanish mackerel nigiri. Eric R. and his mom had Hokkaido scallop nigiri. We shared three rolls: negi toro maki, spicy tuna maki, and rainbow roll with real crab. The negi toro was soooooo fatty and delicious! This was a very delicious and special meal. Itadakimasu!

This is definitely a special occasion place. I wanted to try it since it ended up being close to the ballet. This place was dimly lit and where we were seated was mostly couples. Got a reservation right when they opened and it was nice. The place definitely gets loud as it starts to fill up. They gave me a basket to place my purse in so it wasn't hanging from my seat. TLDR: It's good but seriously for special occasions. I wouldn't say it's entirely unique or mind blowing. Most dishes are shareable and we left full without spending more than $300 after tip.Our server explained how the traditional course order went and was readily available with questions. They're fancy with the water here and it's like $8 a bottle. Started off with sushi which was very fresh and delicious. We ended up ordering it twice. The white seaweed salad was light and refreshing, for sure unique if you're not Asian I should've known lol but it was still nice to see how a restaurant prepared it versus my family. We also got the washu beef hot rock which ended up being one of my favorites. The main star and thing they're known for is the house made soba noodles, which I admit we're really good. I could eat double the portion the gave. The dipping broth that came with it was the perfect level of salty and they give you the soba liquid after to turn it into a sipping broth. The duck was overcooked to me :( miyazaki beef soba noodles with broth was also delicious and warming but nothing special. The beef was super tender. The soba ice cream was not what I expected. It was good and most of the sweetness came from the black honey but I think my favorite part was the toasted powder they had on top. It added a whole different profile to the dessert. All in all, it's a good restaurant but now that I've had it, I can cross it off the list and keep it that way.

Came here Sunday around noon. I was quickly greeted and seated. The service was excellent, staff were very friendly. The sizzling dumplings were sizzling for real. Good amount of filling and very flavorful. The salmon poke bowl was a generous portion, everything tasted fresh.

This is still the cutest lil' date night spot! It's still quaint, intimate and delicious. It'll definitely show that someone he or she is #special. They have a variety of sushi options from raw to cooked rolls, as well as, traditional and speciality sashimi and nigiri. We actually stopped in for this reason, because I needed sushi but can only have cooked rolls right now. We ordered 4 rolls with my favorites being the Spider and Dragon rolls. The shrimp tempura within the rolls was lightly battered which gave just the right amount of crunch and absolutely no greasy-ness. It tasted AMAZING! Plus, the staff was so kind! They were all smiles and remained professional while being personable. It's just a great vibe that everyone should check out at least once. (:

"This place is amazing! It's a sushi buffet, but they offer so much more. We came here during lunch on a Friday weekday and were immediately seated in a booth. Our drink orders were taken and we were off to the buffet. The buffet has about five different stations:1) Sushi - One of the long aisles is filled with plates of sushi. Salmon and tuna served in a variety of different ways along with some other sushi staples. Plates are located below the bar. Some sections of the sushi bar have signs requesting that you take no more than 3 pieces. I'm assuming that this is so that someone doesn't hog an entire plate of salmon at once, but it also prevents food from being wasted. There was no soup nazi hovering over us, so I'm not sure anyone is really enforcing this policy. It seems to be more a courtesy request. 2) Salad items - The next long aisle is filled with salads, fruits, and vegetables. These items are all cold. There were things like broccoli salad, grilled okra and peppers, edamame, mussels, etc. The seaweed salad and the green bean salad were my favorite. My husband loved the kimchi. 3) Hot items - The last long aisle is filled with hot dishes. Chicken, steak, shrimp, gyoza, dumplings, etc. I liked the fried egg roll and fried gyoza best. 4) Soups - There is a small station filled with a variety of hot soups. I didn't try any of these, but there were several options available. 5) Desserts - There was a small station filled with a variety of desserts. I didn't try any of these either, but the selection didn't disappoint. After you finish a plate, the server will be by to remove it so you can fill up another in its place. The servers were fantastic. They filled our beverages without us ever asking. We were never without a drink. Food quality varies. The sushi was quite good in my opinion. The meat on the hot aisle seemed a bit rubbery and chewy to me. My husband had a hard time pulling apart the shell of the shrimp and was so frustrated with the process. He said it was a lot of work for such a small piece of meat, but the taste was good. Lunch is $25.95 per person Monday through Friday. It's $46 per person for dinner. It's not cheap, but if you are craving an unlimited supply of sushi and you have an appetite, this is the place to come."
"Locally owned gem nestled in a shopping complex. It may seem unassuming, but this restaurant had a nice assortment of Japanese and Korean foods and drinks. We started out with the yakitori skewers. They were perfectly juicy and charred. Friendly wait staff. I'm a big fan of restaurants that give you a happy hour type discount, and that's exactly what Yama did for select nigiri. Good size portion ratio of rice to fish. Not pictured included my boozy mango Sochu cocktail. A fun worth-it sushi and yakitori restaurant in outskirts of Dallas."
"Stellar service. Great food. Awesome selection. Loved the feel. Good music in the background. Absolutely recommend."
"I had an amazing birthday dinner at Uchiba, and I can't recommend it enough! We opted for the happy hour omakase, and the meal did not disappoint--each dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The ambiance is perfect for a special occasion, whether it's a romantic date or a night out with friends. The setting is chic yet inviting, making it a great spot for any celebration. While Uchiba is known for its sushi, they offer a variety of other dishes for those who aren't as into raw fish, and the servers were incredibly helpful in guiding us to options we'd enjoy. Their attention to detail and customer service really stood out.The only downside during our visit was some ongoing construction nearby, which caused a bit of inconvenience with parking. However, Uchiba offers complimentary valet service, though it's definitely a good idea to add a bit of extra time to your arrival and departure to avoid any delays. Despite this small hiccup, the experience was overall fantastic, and I'll definitely be back for another celebration!"
"I've been here a couple of times now. I can vouch for the consistency of the sushi rolls and the service. I originally found them via Google after having a craving for a sushi roll. They had excellent reviews on Google and Yelp so I decided to give them a try. Thankfully I wasn't disappointed.I first arrived the first time and was pleasantly introduced to the lunch special 3 role for $10!!! This was great, be sure it allow me to try a variety of rolls. I went with the shrimp tempura and the Fantastic roll. The Fantastic roll consistent of deep fried salmon, cream cheese, eels, wasabi and spicy mayo. This was very good to me and I've since gotten every time I've been back. The salmon is fried perfectly and the flavors blend together very well. I recommend th Fantastic roll. The shrimp tempura roll was good, but nothing outstanding at the same time.I definitely recommend Love Sushi and I look forward to trying other rolls and menu items. The service as always been courtesy but I only order carryout."
"Such a delicious place! We always come back here! Service is always 10/10, our server Louis is always so sweet and attentive 10/10 server, the manager came and gave us free hot sake too which was so nice! So clean, cute and classy in here too! Food was fabulous, favorites are: Who's your daddy Jalepeno bombs Hawaiian roll Dallas special We'll be back over and over again, thank you so much Louis !!"
"We met here for dinner with friends from out of town. Since reopening their restaurant in 2015, Chef Mark Mark and Lod, his wife, Tungcmittrong, have continued to provide the same personal touch, the freshest and most creative food, outstanding service, and warm family atmosphere. It's always a very fun, satisfying event to dine at Sushi Rock."
"I wish I had found this place sooner. The all you can eat is the best deal ever and I was shocked that for that price we received generous cuts, fresh sushi, and prompt service. The gyozo is pretty incredible too. This is now on our list as our local sushi joint. Very pleased."
"Great food, service, and selectionBYOBCan make reservations on Google mapseverything is very freshTop valueenjoy"
"Yesterday, we celebrated a fun birthday at Sakana Sushi, and it was an incredible experience! We ordered a variety of dishes, including the rainbow roll, salmon rolls, seaweed salad, dancing fire roll, udon, ramen, spicy edamame, spicy tuna tower, and tempura. Every single item was good and service was helpful and kind..One standout was the fresh wasabi, definitely a must-try if you're dining here! It adds an extra layer of flavor you didn't know you needed."
"So delicious and honestly such great drinks, definitely a local gem with amazing service and nice ambiance!"
"We came in for my bday lunch today. I've been eyeing this place for awhile on FB but never had a chance to try it. It's hidden in a shopping center I never knew had all of these great places very close to where I frequent daily. We ordered tuna and shrimp nigiri which was great! Also, salmon sashimi - divine. My daughter ordered the Louisiana Roll. I had the spider and Guns N Roses. All of the food was delicious! Service was great, very attentive and it was a cool vibe atmosphere. I will definitely be back!"
"By far the best sushi and fried rice I've ever experienced in the metroplex. The nigiri is expertly sliced, and the freshness of the fish is exceptional. I enjoyed my nigiri with a Kirin Ichiban beer, and I discovered flavors in the fish that I had never noticed before. Before you stop in be aware they are closed for a few hours between lunch and dinner. I believe dinner starts at 5pm and lunch is from 11-2. This is one of the very few restaurants I'd give 5 starts to."
"Nori Sushi is a hidden gem in Lewisville, and let me tell you, it does not disappoint! From the moment you walk in, the friendly and polite staff make you feel like you've just joined the VIP sushi club. Now, let's talk food: the veggie tempura was so perfectly crisp it deserves its own applause, and the deep-fried California roll? A golden masterpiece that practically melted in my mouth. If you're in the area and your taste buds are begging for a treat, swing by Nori Sushi. Delicious food, stellar service, and a vibe that hits all the right notes--what more could you ask for?"
"Everything went perfectly. Easy parking in the shared lot. Immediately seated, greeted and the sweetest server waited on us. She was pleasant and efficient. The restaurant was clean and well staffed. The food was brought immediately and absolutely delicious. 5 stars."
"I came here with a friend last weekend based on his recommendation. This restaurant used to be a Thai restaurant and had either a change of ownership or expanded their menu. Anyways, when we arrived, we were welcome fairly quickly and asked where we wanted to sit. Originally, we decided the bar area but ended up moving to a table nearby. Our waiter, Sean, greeted us and provided us with 2 menus - a paper one and a more descriptive menu with pictures and ingredients. We were also served warm water with lemon in a mug. Sean was helpful in giving his recommendations when we wanted to decide our order. We ordered Veggie Egg Rolls for our appetizer. We also added on a Bonsai Roll, Cosmo Roll, Wasabi Caviar, and Quail Eggs. We received the Veggie Egg Rolls fairly quickly. It was served fresh and hot. The pastry in itself was very flaky and I enjoyed the bite of the egg roll. It went really well with the duck sauce. Next, we received the Bonsai Roll and Cosmo Roll. The Bonsai Roll had spicy yellowtail and avocado in the middle, and was topped with albacore tuna. I really enjoyed the ponzu sauce on the side of the plate and it tasted fresh. I generally lean more towards smoked salmon when I get sushi so the Cosmo Roll was interesting. The Cosmo Roll had cream cheese and smoked salmon. The exterior of the roll was lightly fried with some tempura batter so it added some sweetness. The crunch and texture was really good. This was probably my most favorite roll of the 2. My friend had never had caviar before so we originally ordered the black caviar because we noted that we indicated it was buttery in the menu. Unfortunately, we were informed that the black caviar had run out so they offered Tobiko (red caviar) and Wasabi Caviar. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of wasabi in excess so I was hesitant towards it. My friend, however, is a huge fan so we ended up getting it. I was very very surprised by the taste. The wasabi was not overpowering and it was surprisingly good when served with the nori. I'd love to give the black caviar a try. We also ordered quail eggs and that was new for me. They were served with the top taken off and a mixture of sauces were added on top. As soon as I took this "shot", I made a face. I wasn't sure if it was the mixture of sauces, but it was definitely an experience. If you've never had quail eggs, I'd recommend giving this a try. Ultimately, I plan to go here again. My experience here was quite nice, and I look forward to trying other dishes. I also have to thank Sean, our waiter, for being patient and very helpful. We received top notch service from him!"
"Came in with a friend on a Sunday afternoon. It was pretty slow so we were seated immediately. Place is big for sushi and a hibachi grill. Our server was nice but over all our items I felt like it was a bit bland. There wasn't really much shrimp in the shrimp tempura, it was very fried.Maybe it was our items but it was lacking flavor. I might come again to try the hibachi next time."
"My wife and I was looking for a place to eat last minute and stumbled across the business. The food was really delicious. Thank you."
"We visited around 7:30p on Friday. Place was empty but it's such a cute spot. Very intimate seating, nice music, very clean. We ordered 3 rolls and dumplings. Came out quick and was delicious. We enjoyed our meal. Price was great as well."
"A good, solid place for japanese food at a reasonable price. The staff were nice and the location is clean and tidy. Out of my group, some ordered sushi and some ordered hibachi. Those that ordered sushi were quite pleased with the quality and value for price. I ordered the ahi tuna tower, which i really enjoyed. It looks impressive, but is a good option for a lighter dinner. Those that ordered hibachi were a bit underwhelmed, the meat needed more seasoning. This is a convenient location near my house, so I'll preturn for a good fix of sushi at a good price!"
"Excellent! Ambiance is great, food is great! The all you can eat buffet has so many good choices - seared salmon is a must-try!"
"Second time here. I was wary of the concept at first, but it works very well. If you don't know, it is all you can eat, but there are servers that take your order and deliver your order, unless it's the robot server! You are limited to three picks per order. Service is prompt enough that this is not a problem. Food is quite good, and sushi, sashimi and rolls taste fresh. Some items are only available on the dinner menu, which is more expensive than the lunch menu. Also I think something is new from my first visit; items that carry an additional charge. All in all, I've enjoyed both visits. I don't typically go for all you can eat, because I don't eat much, but I did like both Tim e s here.Note: On weekends the only menu is the more expensive dinner menu. I didn't know this, but I did enjoy the extra options, mostly sashimi. Oh, and some food is delivered by robot. The server takes items off the robot for you, but it's fun to watch. Inside is rather compartmentalized, so it's possible to have a more intimate dinning experience, as opposed to the giant buffet places."
"Good sushi, good service. Tucked away so may be a bit hard to find and smaller interior but one of my favorite places to stop before my class. Will definitely return"
