"It's been a minute since I've had good Indian food, and this restaurant did not disappoint. Service was a bit on the slower side, but the servers were friendly and welcoming. My favorite part of the ambiance was the battery-powered candle at the center of the table. It added to the vibes of the somewhat dimly-lit interior. We ordered a variety of appetizers that were all so delicious and flavorful: seekh kabob, aloo tikki chaat, paneer pakoras, and samosa. Besides the samosa, I had never tried any of the other items before, but I loved every single bite of them.I got the chicken tikka masala for my main entree, and it was one of the best tikka masala I have ever eaten. The chicken was super tender, and the sauce was the perfect mix of sweet and savory.I will say that the food is a bit on the pricier side, but the quality was worth the price point in my opinion."
"Consistent and deliciousNow I find ordering take out still as deliciousI would recommend this place to anyone"

"Very happy about this place. We came here for a late lunch during a weekday, and they still had a good amount of people inside. It is a lunch buffet so you just go straight to the food and start! Love all the options they offer here. I am pretty much going for their Butter Chicken, grilled chicken legs and Mutton Curry. Loving the flavor and freshness. They also have salad and other veggie options too. A good place for lunch for sure."
"We tried the new Burgers & Curries. It has an unfortunate location on Custer because as you go north from Hedgecox it's right on the curve. The had 20 items on their buffet. All were well spiced. Some had too much chili for my wife but the spices were very good. The rasam (soup?) was the best I've had in years. The chili chicken curry had a great aroma and flavor. We will definitely be back."
"I've been coming here for years and it's still my favorite spot. I highly recommend the pani puri and the dahi puri. Their dosas are also so amazing and definitely try the different lassis."
"Alright, I went on a limb and decided to stop by this restaurant. To start, it was very clean and the waitress was sweet and pointed me in the direction to place my to-go order. Being a new patron, I was not familiar with their menu and again, the waitress was very helpful with her suggestions.I started off with the Chicken Tikka Nachos: I was so disappointed, actually, I felt worse than disappointed. The chicken was beyond dry, and I mean, dry. I got there around the time they opened, I can only assume they were still trying to get rid of the previous days food. I dipped the chicken in the sauce that came with it, hoping that would help, it didn't. Stuffed Naan: Again, the chicken was dry. I actually was very surprised, I've never had a naan that wasn't cooked perfectly. Mango Lassi: That is the only RAVE I can give about this visit, that drink was delicious! Overall, I can't say I will not go back. I believe I chose to go at the wrong time, and chose the wrong thing. My first thought was to get the Butter Chicken, next time, I will not sway away from that."
"Samosa Hut is a nice little "hole in the wall" place serving up mostly Pakistani food with a little twist. You can get traditional grilled platters or a few curries but you can also get a tikka burrito or samosas filled with interesting non-traditional fillings. You'll order at the counter and food will be brought to you. Prices are very reasonable for sure - and they have platters designed for sharing. I was here for lunch so had a chicken curry - with rice, naan and a mango lassi it was under $15. Not bad. My curry was really good - there was a good amount of dark meat chicken in it and the sauce was thick and well spiced. Naan was not what I'm used to - it was more like a pita bread texture but plenty good for scooping up tasty sauce. The guy at the counter was really nice and checked on me to make sure I was happy (I was!). Don't expect anything fancy on the interior but it was clean (including the restrooms). Vegetarians should know that the menu is somewhat limited and more meat focused than a traditional Indian place. Two thumbs up from me!"
"I recently stopped by after they had moved to their new location. We had some friends in town who really wanted Fusion Indo-Chinese. They loved this place. The service was prompt even though we had a large party on New Year's Eve. We had the fried cauliflower, pakoda, and samosa for appetizers. All of it was tasty. For the main dishes, we had sizzler platter with different meats, the fusion rice, and fusion noodles. All of it was tasty. I would avoid the tradition biryani dishes as they were a little below par. But, all the fusion dishes were excellent. The atmosphere is causal, the service was prompt, and the food was tasty. We will definitely come again."
"Based on my own experience thus far, this location is a great place to visit if you're seeking great Indian Himalayan food. Although the outside of the building did look a little rough, the interior had a pleasant atmosphere, so I'd advise you to not let that deter you. Nevertheless, the food was excellent. I started my lunch with some chicken 65, a dish that is popular in Nepal, and let me just tell you that this was some of the greatest chicken I've ever tasted. It was extremely crunchy and spicy, and eating it made me sweat. As a result, I'll add that if spicy cuisine is not your thing, I'd advise staying away from this establishment. You could also just ask for no heat, but where's the honor in that?I also got some paratha aloo after that, which was delicious, but I wish they had cheese paratha. Nevertheless, it was pleasant and complemented my main meal, a taxmax curry that was the chef's special. It had lamb, spinach, black lentils, yellow lentils, and a mouthwatering masala curry. If you're not a big flavor explorer, I'd say this might not be your cup of tea, as most of the people I shared my plate with didn't like it, but I'm sure it's just because they don't like this sort of food. Overall, this restaurant was good; the food portions were sizable and reasonably priced, so I'd recommend it to anyone in the area seeking good, authentic Indian Himalayan food."
"I was in the area and was looking for a good Indian restaurant and tried this place on a whim and I was very pleased! They give a daily soup during lunch, today was a vegetable corn soup. It was delicious, with good flavors without being too spicy. In fact the soup was so good that I decided to order their samosa as appetizer. The samosa's were also excellent, so many good flavors. It was served with a chutney sauce and another type of sauce. As the main entree I wanted to try something different than the typical Indian dishes that are the most common in the USA I ordered a vegetarian dish called Navratan Koorma. It's a mix of different vegetables in a creamy cashew sauce with rice and Naan bread. It was good and flavorful. The naan was bread was amazing, I've been to a few other restaurants in the area that have really unflavorful bread so this was nice.I was pretty full at the moment but felt like trying one dessert to have tried something from all parts of their menu and ordered Gulab Jamoon. An old classic, it was very good as well. It was slightly warm and freshly made and was a perfect end to the meal. The service was excellent throughout, the server gave me updates when one of the dishes were close to being ready. I thought the presentation was also very nice. I will definitely keep this restaurance in place next time I'm in the area."
"If you ever looking for a great Pakistani/India restaurant. Please please come here to this place. The food is awesome."
"Great food, ideal of pickup only as this is inside a gas station. Their tandoor platter is great, chicken Malabar is amazing. Definitely a go to place for solid Indian food."

Always a great time coming here. The food is absolutely delicious. Definitely get the traditional goat curry with roti, the Chicken tikka masala with garlic naan, the fried fish appetizer and the cauliflower. Everything I order is amazing and the customer service is always spectacular. 10/10 highly recommend!

I found this place rated high on Trip Advisor and wanted to try it for myself. They had plenty of staff to serve. The one young lady they have working for them is a gem. The other guys are ok, but very quiet which may come off as not hospitable. One brought me the receipt to sign and didn't say anything. No thank you or anything. I ordered the shrimp saag and some naan. The food was pretty awesome. The rice was very aromatic, moist and outstanding. I enjoyed every bite. I enjoyed watching the cook through the window while he prepares the food. I might try their lunch buffet one day. I will definitely be back for more.

This is the OG in an area is that is littered with new Indian spots. I specifically still choose Our Place for a good old fashioned Indian Lunch Buffet. Service is quick, and they are kind. The same family has been running it since I've been going over 15 years ago. Not the absolute best I've ever had in each category, but that's not really what you look for in a lunch buffet. Food is always hot, available, and they have a ton of veg and non-veg choices. Always get the vegetable korma, and different chutneys and breads. I am particularly fond of the curd rice (yogurt mixed with rice) with Indian pickles. They also give free soda and soft serve. You will leave satisfied and stuffed. And not like you've spend too much, like some of the newer, flashier Indian spots along 635.

Taj Chaat House is definitely my go to spot for some paani puri and aloo tiki chaat in the metroplex. You cannot go wrong with any of their dishes. They have been consistent in their taste and quality over the years, which is commendable. The staff members are friendly and efficient in taking the orders and preparing the food. Self service is the best way to keep the restaurant affordable.Parking can get tricky in the evenings and weekends given there are other establishments that get busy as well. The restaurant has been renovated and gives it a fresh new feel.Pricing : Moderate.

My husband is a huge samosa fan and most weekends, he makes an excuse to make a trip into Patel Bothers to pick up their samosas. He says they are for me, but he eats 5 and I get one ; )While waiting for a medical appointment, I remembered that Samosa Hut was nearby and made a mental note to stop by on my way home.If you are looking for great ambiance and a bleached clean restaurant, this isn't the place for you. It definitely fits in the category of "hole in the wall"... I actually would not have been surprised to see one if I had walked completely around the restaurant. They offer an awesome variety of samosas, both veg and non-veg. I totally appreciated this! The female employee who took my order was friendly and efficient. Each samosa order contains 3 pieces. I ordered the spicy potato, spinach with paneer, and jalapeño cheese. Now, these samosas definitely are not what you typically get in an Indian eatery. These were more of the Pakistani variety. They are not super plump nor thick. But let me tell you, each type I ordered was delicious! AND, dear God above, the mint chutney sauce was incredible! I believe they make it there and it contained finely diced chilies. It was flavorful, left my tongue tingling but was still enjoyable. My hubby prefers the tamarind sauce and he really liked it all. I loved the unique choices. The spicy potato samosa contained the typical fillings. The spinach and paneer was super tasty, containing a good amount of spinach and tiny chopped paneer. The jalapeño cheese was what I thought a Pakistani version of jalapeño poppers. It contained a white cheese and small bits of jalapeño. Super good and interesting. I will definitely be returning for these tasty snacks and hopefully try some of their entrees.

Picked up a large order to go from Bombay Sizzlers recently and was pleased. If you are sensitive to spice then please do not try anything more than mild. Warning you in advance don't say we didn't tell you!! I can't speak to the ambiance of the place but I have heard it's great for casual dinners and late night eats. As far as price goes, to my understanding Bombay Sizzlers is known for their sizzler plates which would be priced higher for the presentation. However, I would say that it is a bit overpriced when taking it to go.Regardless, food was good. I'd come again, but maybe not take it to go as I feel that we're paying a premium we may not be receiving.Mango Lassis are also good! I'd be interested in trying their saffron lassi.

"Butter chicken and chicken 65 are both extremely flavorful and filling with big portions and we always have leftovers for the next day. Conveniently located near kroger so you can grab groceries and then pick up dinner! Garlic naan is a good complement to anything you order / samosas are also really delicious. My one thing is that if you want it spicy maybe you have to ask? I always feel like everything is mild when we order."
"Wonderful!! Ordered the Channa Masala and I was a little skeptical at the appearance at first, I am more accustomed to seeing more gravy.. but it did not disappoint!! Was honestly one of the best Channa Masalas that ive had. Incredible fresh Naan, chewy moist rice!! Everything packaged efficiently and nothing spilled. Included utensils too! 10/10!"
"We ordered for pick up via DoorDash.Pani puriTikka masalaAloo parataGarlic naanButter chickenGoat biryaniEverything was FANTASTIC and honesty, I wasn't expecting the food to be as authentic as it was. Delicious!"
"We love getting take out from here. If you're in the mood for some cosy, authentic Indian food, this is a great hidden gem. The spices are spot on, & they're generous with their portions. So far, we've tried most of the menu items & none of them disappointed us! Yet, our favorites/must have's are the mutton biryani & chicken lollipops. The only thing that caught us off guard is that there's a sign that it's mandatory to wear masks here, yet none of the employees or customers do. Confusing..."
"I have been wanting to try this place for quite a while now and I'm glad I finally made it!! it is an Indian/Mexican food That is similar to how chipotle serves. Cilantro rice in a bowl I got half chicken and half steak, (they also do a salad bowl option ). Then you have an option of three different styles of Curry, I chose the smoky which is a little spicier, and the flavor rivals many of the other Indian food locations at about half the price. beyond the Curry there are four or five other sauce toppings you can get, I opted for the spicy cilantro and sour cream.Staff is super helpful and friendly! If you're looking for something different, that is delicious and has a reasonable price I highly recommend this place!!"
"Desi Chulha has turned into my comfort food spot. Got addicted to Indian food and this place is the best I have found. Highly recommend the Paneer Pakora and Paneer Butter Masala (yeah I got a thing for the paneer don't judge me). Portion sizes are decent and always fresh fresh fresh. I would avoid the Tea and the price for a soda (can) isn't worth it but everything else is A+."
"I live close by and walked over to The Vista Mall. My lunch was prepared to order. I even had a special request of Rogan Josh and the cook delivered exceptionally well. This will be my go-to spot for garlicky, spicy food now. This dish and naan was fresh and I can't wait to eat my leftovers! Great value for the price."
"Very good Indian food. It is essentially a restaurant counter in a supermarket. You walk up and order your food. Some appetizers are available immediately, but the rest is cooked in the kitchen. There is a large seating area with both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is quite large with, all of the Indian favorites you can imagine. Plenty of vegetarian options too. We ordered butter chicken and chicken vindaloo and both were served very hot. The flavor was great and the portions were quite large, and their naan is some of the best I have ever had."
"My wife and I have been ordering takeout from here for over a year now. The food is excellent but lately they have started giving substantially less rice with entrees. The last several times we ordered we ended up having to make some of our own rice to supplement. Not a dealbreaker but certainly annoying given this is not a cheap restaurant."
"I always crave the masala dosa from Deccan but this time wanted to try a new dish and got the tandoori chicken daal tadka and I've never had anything like it. It was full of flavor and spice. Service was exceptional. Our server, Shashi, brought out pickled mangoes for us to try and some yogurt for when the food got too spicy. Grateful to have this restaurant so close to home!"
"This place has some of the most DELICIOUS food in the Metroplex. I happened upon this establishment on Uber Eats and I was so pleased that I placed a takeout order the very next day. Yes two days in a row...DON'T JUDGE ME!!We had the: Spicy Fish Tikka (BOMB), Veggie Chowmein, Veggie Momo (TASTY), Mustang Ko Aloo & Garlic/Rosemary Pesto Naan (UNEXPECTEDLY AMAZING). Some don't have exciting bold words behind them but they all were fabulous. My husband and I just recently started a Pesco-Vegetarian diet and to find flavorful, fresh and well priced/portioned food that meets our dietary needs is a game changer. Indoor dining is very nice and date worthy. Service is superb.Definitely pay them a visit, your taste buds can thank me later."
"The wife and I stopped in here around 6pm for dinner and we were seated right away. Our waitress "Supriya" came over right away to take our drink orders and explain the menu. Our drinks arrived pretty quickly, but it took a little longer then normal for our meal to arrive. My wife and I ordered the chicken and lamb tikka masala and it was really good and the meat was very tender. The restaurant was very clean and quiet. We will definitely be back for another visit."
"Love Bay Leaf! The owner is always so friendly and even remembers our order when we call in. The food is seasoned deliciously and has large portions. The restaurant is comfortable and casual, a plus is how quick and convenient to-go/pick up is.The beef fry and porotta are the best! Highly recommend."
"Ordered food for pick up. I assume it was the owners that helped me, they were so incredibly warm and nice...service couldn't have been better. Goat portion was small for the price ($21); lots of bones and fatty pieces with very little meat. Also VERY greasy. And VERY spicy. Palak paneer was tasty and more fairly priced for the portion. Also had butter chicken. Again, tasty but a very small amount of (5 small chunks) to sauce ratio. We like some spice but most dishes were just way too spicy for us. The naan was delicious, light and fluffy. The buffet also looked very fresh and plentiful so maybe we'd try that next time."
"There's a reason why this place has such great reviews. The food comes out super fast. If you order the specialty fish, you're in for such a treat. The flesh is so tender and peels off the bones so easily. It's incredible how well the fish is cooked. Everything phenomenal and the portions are generous. The Manchurian Gobi was the favorite but the Butter Chicken was so flavorful, you almost want to lick the plate. My friends always order the Boneless Chicken Biryani catering for their parties and it's such a hit. A forewarning for those weak to spice. The fiery heat from the food is totally worth the sweat and tears."
"Always my preferred stop for Indian street food like the chats, sugarcane juice, the vadas, various fritters, pastries and so on, the food we had was great in taste but not heated at all, I mean acold day and chilli bajjis- its meant to be steaming hot even if its only microwaved .The pani puri though was great with the hot ragda, and the sev also had ragda which was hot. Still, the street food here is better than closer home so .... even when everything is served in take away plates and boxes. Of course they have huge array of Indian food in terms of dald, pacchadis, kooras and so on, and it is a part grocery store too, so basically like one stop shop. Ambiance is - you can probably guess from the above, a little noisy and crowded, and the limited seating area is acceptable only if you get lucky to get the front two rows.In summary- an traditional Indian in Dallas ; You simply cannot survive without depending on Swadeshi for one thing or another."
"We arrived on Sunday and we were seated right away, we went looking for chicken momo.We arrived at a perfect time, only two tables were seated. By the time we left, it was full.We started with Veg Pakora, veggies fritters with dipping sauce. We got the Chicken momo and we added a plate of a common favorite, Butter chicken. Both dishes were delicious.Service was fast and friendly."
"New favorite neighborhood takeout spot when I'm visiting family... place has rotating daily specials which usually run out. Favorites include a standard order of dhokra for snacking & mixed grill for a protein fix with a few different well seasoned and tender meats. Also a fan of the nihari which is flavorful, not crazy spicy and not under an inch of oil. This time around also tried out the haleem which was great and would definitely reorder."
"Disappointing experience overall.Orders took forever to be prepared, dosa was cold, service was subpar and the food was nothing to rave about. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, especially the outdoor seating when the weather is pleasant. Plenty of parking is available.Overall, there is much to be improved about the food and service.Pricing : Expensive for the food served. There are many better places to spend the money in.Will I return? : Unlikely!"
"Mantra offers incredible Indian-Nepalese fusion food. The establishment was fairly humble. It's in a run-down shopping center attached to a gas station. Our server was very sweet. I came with a large group and the kitchen genuinely struggled to keep up. Our food came out at several different times. We asked for garlic naan which seemed to flummox them. They could have and should have upsold a lot more of the group on mango lassi, but brought us bottled water instead.I ordered the aloo gobhi lunch special which came with basmati rice and a pickled chutney. It was delicious and super affordable. This hole-in-the-wall is definitely worth checking out. The food is spectacular and the staff is friendly."
"My rating is price vs. taste & quality of food. This place has amazing quality of food with very authentic taste. I tried the chicken thali, every item on the plate was very tasty and fresh. Except for the Chicken, every item can be topped up again. The lady who was serving us was very courteous and prompt. There were total 8 items in the thali; saag, dry squash curry, dal, papad, cauliflower curry, bamboo shoot curry, chicken curry and rice2nd visit, very good as expected. Place got renovated and it feels better. Tried veg thali and mutton thali; both came off very nice."
"Best Bengali take out. Mutton kosha, chicken ahuna, dhokar dalna are really good. Not a fan of their fish. Sweets are amazing! Also try their chops."
