While I did not end up using Buffalo Valley for my fundraising event, I have nothing but good things to say about my experience working with Kim. And the only reason I didn't use them was another venue unexpectedly donated their venue to us at no charge... (Good to have connections!) Hard to beat a free venue...Kim was professional, personable, flexible, and extremely helpful in trying to meet my every need. We're a 501(c)3 and every dollar counts in our effort to fund local scholarships, and Kim took that guidance to the bank. She matched what I needed for per-meal price (beyond what any other venue could do), the price for the venue was VERY reasonable, and she was very timely in getting back to me after working out our deal with her manager.I called a lot of venues and talked to a lot of people. I'd looked into almost 30 venues for this event. Most venues are not flexible and didn't seem to care if they can't accommodate you. That's too expensive for you? Aw, sorry, good luck! *click* Others never even called me back. Not the case with Kim and Buffalo Valley. She really went the extra mile to make it work. It was a breath of fresh air working with her. I truly can't say enough good things about my experience. I highly recommend Buffalo Valley for your event. They made my short list for suitable venues for sure. Great customer service goes a long way. Thanks, Kim. --Elliott

Fabulous venue. We recently attended a destination wedding there. Loved the Buffalo preserve and surrounding grounds. They made our friends' wedding magical!I would consider it if I needed someplace special like that. The rooms are very clean and the staff helpful.

Best Wedding ever. I grew up in a catering household and I knew weddings were tough from the outside. But inside the flurry of everything... we were luck we had Roberta and Cindy. My wife (sounds great to say) and I thought we could approach this with a laid back attitude. Turns out you forget about certain things like a garter belt!! Cindy crafted an AMAZING butterfly garter, 20 minutes before the toss. They kept us on schedule the best they could (so many photos to take!) and worked with us to make the day perfect. And DJ Jimmy was able to keep us all on the dance floor where I had a dance off with my father!Pre-production detail: A+Recommendations and Ideas: A+Constant Communication: A+Food: A+ (worked with us to make gluten-free wedding!)Friendliness: A+My wife (soooo good to say) and I already plan to come back for our anniversary and soak in that amazing honeymoon garden tub. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much!

We held our wedding at Buffalo Valley Event Center and had a perfect experience! The staff went above and beyond to make sure our special day was exactly what we wanted. It stormed the morning of our wedding and we had hoped to have the ceremony outside. The staff helped to decorate an indoor area to hold the ceremony due to weather. Just a few hours before our big event (with over 200 guests) the weather cleared up and the staff took it upon themselves to use their personal vehicles to pick up hay bales for our guests to sit on, just so we could have an outside ceremony without chairs sinking into the ground. They met our every request and were experts in their field. I toured all of the big name wedding venues prior to deciding and Buffalo Valley was the *only* one where I felt like they would work with us based on what we were asking to make our event special. Many other venues treat you like a number. Roberta and her staff felt like family to us by the end of the wedding planning process, and we were so sad to say goodbye to her and our planner when it was all over.

We had a fantastic evening celebrating a small wedding at Buffalo Valley. The staff was super flexible and helpful. They accommodated all of our needs. The brides room is huge and the grooms room is very nice. Our guests all commented on how pretty the venue is - and we did not have to do any decorating. The bartender created special drinks, the food was tailored to our needs. There are 4 or 5 spots outside that create beautiful photo ops. Only negative is the white rock road leading up to the center, dusty drive up to the center.

We had our 5 hour wedding reception here in August 2011. The staff was very professional and was able to work with us on our needs and budget. Our wedding was wonderful and our coordinator made sure that everything followed our timeline and flowed smoothly. Buffalo includes everything in there wedding package, although we decided to find our own cake vendor. They have many centerpieces and decorations which were used in previous wedding and left for them. This saved us hundreds of $ on centerpieces. They have many options for their food which they make on site and offered as a tasting once we narrowed down what we wanted. We had chicken parmesan, salad, pasta, veggies, and garlic bread. Everything was tasty. They offer a full bar (although we opted for beer and wine only). I highly recommend Buffalo. It is open, elegant, and unique. Many of our guest commented on how beautiful the venue was. Mary and all of the staff at Buffalo made our special day just what we wanted it.My one complaint (and it's more from my guests) is that the road to get to the venue is not clearly marked (there is a "buffalo meat" sign and many of our guests drove past the entrance). If you are having an event here I would recommend printing your own sign and placing it by the road.

I was reluctant to write this review as I have been holding out for them to make it right, but it's been three months. Roberta and her team were a dream to work with in the beginning then it all went down hill the weekend of the wedding. We get there on a Thursday to set up and check into the hotels as we booked it for the weekend. All of the a/c units went out and it took them all day to get them running and some until the next day. I understand that it's hot in July but for them to not test and get the a/c in the rooms going the day before we show up at least, was irresponsible. When we set up in the main ballroom Thursday, we were told it was their "free day" so no lights and no air. My 65 year old mother was sweating bullets trying to get it all done. Friday comes, and the grooms beer never shows up that we requested. Some "issue" with the delivery. Whatever, we will deal. The mimosas I requested to show up at noon didn't make it until nearly 3pm. The DJ forgot to announce one of my couples, the bartenders were serving hot beer off a cart, and the water shut off in the rooms at 1 in the morning. I paid for a photo booth to have the pictures printed while we were there for people to sign our photo guest book. We didn't get the first batch up them until then next morning and the last of them were sent to my old address (my fault for not fixing that in the beginning), the photos were dark and a total waste. The photo booth was literally a man with an iPad hardly attending and clicking a button. There was no lighting and I had to snap multiple photos myself bc he was either wandering around or at the bar. I emailed multiple times to get the photos resent with the promise of a partial refund and STILL haven't gotten them after they have told me "we're sending them". I don't even care about the refund anymore. I just want my photos.

At the time that we booked our room the web site advertised that our room included high speed internet, coffee service (Although we were provided a coffee maker, we had to purchase my own coffee, filters, etc.), beautiful French doors, and access to a DVD player in the Central Lounge. We also assumed that since the hotel was advertised as a ""Charming Hotel", we would be provided with industry standard services such as daily linen changes (we had to purchase additional bath towels as there were not enough provided to accommodate the two adults staying in the room for 4 days), lite cleaning (we had to make up the beds and remove dead bugs from the floors) and trash service (we had to find alternate sacks to use as trash containers given that we were not provided any clean wastebaskets or trash bags). When I asked about internet access on my first day at the Ranch, I was told that it was no longer available because of a "fire" on the property (please note my wireless devices clearly showed that a wifi portal was in fact available on the property). I also suspect it was "the fire" that was responsible for the loud and enduring construction noise we was exposed to throughout our stay. After conducting additional research on-line, I discovered the Ranch was the victim of a tragic fire on April 16, 2014. However, at no time between my initial booking (July 2014) and check in (October 2014) was I notified that this incident would impact my accommodations, services, or overall experience at the Ranch. I also was not offered any price adjustment to reflect the reduction of services and increased inconvenience of residing in an active construction zone. By the time we discovered that our stay at the Buffalo Valley Ranch Event Center Hotel would not meet our expectations it was already too late to make an alternate plan for our travel! A few other miscellaneous problems that came up during the stay were as follows: we had no access to a landline to make local calls (which was especially problematic given the poor cell reception in the area and no notification ahead of time that we would be required to have a working cell phone), we were locked out of the Ranch on our first night (we were never informed the gates would be closed or locked at a certain time and were not given any access codes), we were provided only one room key (despite having registered for 2 guests and requesting a second key), and finally there were various insects (both living and dead) found in the beds/room throughout the stay. Also, when I attempted to contact the ranch after my stay (no one was on site upon check out) to note the many concerns listed above, not only did they refuse to refund any portion of my charges, but they failed to respond at all. I received no apologies for the awful customer service, unsanitary conditions or false advertisement. I would not recommend this facility for an event, nor would call their lodging a hotel.

I attended an industry safety meeting there, and the food and service was excellent. The facility is charming. It has room for improvement as to unpaved parking, ETC. These are early days, so I expect this to be a go to location for meetings. Lovely scenery, Bison roaming the grounds, just far enough from town for tranquility. I was there only a couple of hours and didn't incur any cost, and can't comment as to the hotel or camp grounds. I do highly recommend them for a meeting place
