Bubba's BBQ & Steakhouse

Decided to try this place on our way down to Galveston and we were not sure due to the star rating on yelp BUT THIS PLACE IS A HIDDEN GEM! Loaded potato with all the fixings and chopped brisket (chefs Kiss) Hubs had 3 meats Ribs fall of the bone tender, spicy sausage delicious and brisket... he couldn't even finish it all! The fried okra was some of the best I had. The owner was table touching and had a very pleasant conversation with him. For dessert we had peach cobbler heated with ice cream and a slice of pecan pie! Absolutely delicious all the way around.. Now to figure out how to get him to put the Texas Twinkies on the menu. Hubs travels up and down between Dallas and Houston often so I know he'll be stopping more often. Thanks for the fantastic food!

This is a place we've driven past a number of times on trips from Dallas to Galveston, and it always reminds me of our first puppy, who was coincidentally named Bubba. This time, we finally decided to stop for an early dinner and now we regret waiting this long. Bubba's is (my idea of) a traditional BBQ joint - order on the line, choose your sides, pay the bill, and find a table. If you order steaks, you just tell the cashier which two sides (or a baked potato) you would like, pay up and it is all delivered to your table. Sodas are self-serve - although one of the staff asked if I wanted a refill and got it for me, which was appreciated. Bubba's obviously caters to locals (even though it's on I-45) because we were recognized as being first-timers. (Staring blankly at the menu may have been a hint.) We had multiple staff check on us during the meal. It was an impressive dinner. The staff was very helpful (since we were rookies), and the food was very, very good. We both ordered Cowboy Ribeyes. I enjoyed my baked potato and my wife enjoyed her green beans and french fries. It was so good, we need to go back to try the BBQ next.When we got in the car to finish the drive home, we realized it's only about forty miles from our house. We may not wait until our next trip to Galveston to return. Highly recommended.

I went here on my brother's birthday because he was craving bbq. We didn't exactly know what to expect because my parents told us they came here a couple times back a couple years ago but I must say. I.AM.IMPRESSED! When we saw the interior we weren't exactly sure if that was a really good aspect but I do enjoy some homey ambiance. The brisket was super good! Had that perfect smoke ring you look for in a good brisket and the flavor of the smoke on that meat was like an orgasm in my mouth. The mashed potatoes and mac'n cheese weren't too special unfortunately but the potato salad and coleslaw were on point! My baby brother also said the stuffing as a side was a really solid stuffing. I brought my girlfriend here a couple days ago and I am for sure coming back again soon!Fun Fact - I knew it'd be a pretty good place as soon as we saw Norman Reedus came here!

Fantastic food. Friendly service. Fair pricing. Really enjoyed it. The option for smaller portion was nice also. Great desserts, especially the coconut cream pie.

Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. The staff was attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was casual. Would recommend the ribeye.

The food was delicious. We actually ordered to go but when I picked up our food they actually gave me the wrong bag, when I informed them they were very sorry and provided me with the correct order. The seating area seemed nice but I wasn't in there for long.

Very good barbq I especially like their REAL mashed potatoes with white gravy and green beans. I will bring a pint home of each and enjoy it there.

Amazing find on the way home from Dallas to Houston! The restaurant was clean, the food was great and it was very affordable. Service was outstanding. The staff was kind and attentive and the owner (or manager) came by and personally checked on us multiple times. He even gave us dessert for free! We will make Bubba's a staple anytime we are traveling between Houston & Dallas!
