Brookside is a great little hidden off the beaten path in Hurst. Have eaten here several times for breakfast and has always been quick service, great food and friendly staff. If you leave here hungry it's your own fault. Great selection so have plenty to choose from. Haven't been here for lunch but will if ever in the area around that time. Our food was a little less than lukewarm warm when came out this last time but was still good.

I didn't take any pictures but I visited this location yesterday for breakfast. I ordered the biscuits and gravy combo and l everything other than the eggs seemed to be reheated. From the bacon, to the sausages to the toasted biscuits. The gravy was lumpy and so I chose not to eat it but the pancakes were pretty good. Waitstaff were kind and I guess just hoped for a better meal. Maybe next time.

Good Sunday morning, everyone. Hope you're up, happy, rested up. It's brunch time, having lazily arisen to greet the sunshine. Wasn't moved by hunger to Brookside today. I just felt like getting out. I love, love, love local, local, local. I still remember this spot in other iterations of businesses. In the last few years It's been serving up smiles, kindness, and homemade food. Southern comfort favorites. I enjoy the fact they serve up the coffee in an adult size mug. Big big. No one who enjoys coffee wants a sip. We want to savor, to drink a big steaming cup of brew. They understand the assignment.I have yet to butter a slice of toast here that wasn't fresh or done as if it wasn't just as important as the entree. The devil is truly in the details. They don't have a constant stream of customers for no reason. They earn each and every customer, not just us regulars.Carpe the heck out of your deim folks. As always. Give. Nuff on that. Love your lived ones a lil extra, save a kiss for the one in the mirror.Peace.

Brookside cafe is a great hidden gem that you must try. It has a down home country feel, it's clean and the staff is amazing. Our server Steve was very attentive and friendly. The food was very good even my husband was impressed with the fluffy scrambled eggs. I got the sampler plate the bacon was crisp, the ham and sausage was flavorful, the eggs were cooked to perfection, the fruit was sweet and the pancakes were light and fluffy. Come early on Saturday before they get too busy.

was desperatly trying to find coffee and breakfast VERY late in the day. All the places where either closed, or about to close, or didn't have the kitchen open any longer for the day?? (IN MY DEFENSE - it was only 2pm) Of course like any good elite I took to Yelp to see if ANY place served breakfast after 2pm. (small mom and pop, NOT a chain) Much to my delight Brookside was open until 3pm. The question now is can i get there in time ? I hate to be THAT person but, I rolled in at 243 and they said come on in!! Full menu is still available. I felt bad about ordering as I am thinking they already cleaned up the kitchen - but they said come on in so I did. I got a breakfast meat lovers bowl and I got stuffed! Daughter gort chicken n waffles and said it was the best she has had! Large cup of refillable coffee was good as well. The atmosphere is a throw back to an old diner and that is fine with me. Not to pretentious just good food and good service.Add it to the Love List

Another delicious brunch with great service! Today we enjoyed the migas with bacon added. It comes with fluffy eggs, onions, tomatoes, pickled jalapenos, tortilla strips, & cheese. It's served with three delicious homestyle flour tortillas and salsa. The Heart to Heart has eggs, protein of your choice, and big fluffy pancakes with bananas and walnuts. They have fresh whipped butter and serve the syrup warm. We'll be back!

Local spot that hits every time. The service was fairly slow if I'm being honest... took a while to get our food but I know the waiter was by himself at the time. Pretty simple on the inside, clean and kept. Came here on a Monday morning and I guess it's the place for local regulars. The waiter seemed to know a lot of names as people came in. If it brings in regulars, you know it's good.
