We look for speakeasies whenever we travel so Bourbon & Banter was definitely on our list of places to check out. We were just looking for drinks so I can't speak to the food, but the table next to us had burgers and they looked and smelled delicious. The drinks were well made and delicious. It took a bit for the drinks to get to us. The service was a little confusing. We had several staff come by to check on us, but then our waiter indicated that if we wanted another round, that it would be easier if we went to the bar. At that point, it seemed like he didn't want to wait on us any longer, so we got the check and headed to the next speakeasy. This is definitely a hipster place that believes that the vibe is cool and that's all that people care about. It was fun. I loved my cocktail. I did it once. I don't need to go back.

Beneath The Statler hotel in downtown Dallas, Bourbon & Banter is a hidden speakeasy. The entrance, a nondescript door, opens as you type the code in the pay phone booth. The interior is stylish with dim lighting and plush seating. The walls have vintage posters and artwork for prohibition and nostalgic charm. The old fashioneds were great and the cheese plate was the perfect snack before dinner. The staff at Bourbon & Banter are knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. Loved it!

I love a good speakeasy. This one is below the breakfast place "overeasy", lol.You have to dial a number of the payphone to get the door to open!Their drinks were great. The staff was friendly. The firecracker shrimp were delicious.

First time at this swanky speakeasy, the telephone was a nice touch. All cocktails were nicely balanced and hospitality was incredible from Anthony and Billy. If you want a delicious cocktail, try the "Lover Boy". A gin sour with a slight tint of ruhbarb on the finish. Cheers!

I apologize if this is too lengthy. We were celebrating one of my friend's birthdays and decided to meet up at a specific spot. Entering the hotel was a unique experience: there was a phone on the right-hand side where you had to type in a certain number to open the door. When we arrived, about four people from our party were already there. We sat down and ordered drinks, and I must say, the atmosphere was amazing. The lighting was perfect, and everything looked beautiful.About 20 minutes into our stay, the music suddenly changed. Initially, it was soft and mellow, a mix of various songs that fit the ambiance well. However, since we were the only party there after a while, the music abruptly switched to hip-hop, which clashed with the atmosphere. Startled, we asked the waiter, whose name I forgot, if she could change it back. She admitted to changing the music, which made us feel uncomfortable. We also had an issue with the drink prices. Their website indicated certain wines were less than $10, but we were charged $20 each. When we brought this up, we were informed that the website was outdated due to new management and they couldn't honor the old prices, although they did offer us a 10% discount. To make matters worse, the waiter came back and mentioned that she changed the music, she didn't mean anything by it because her baby is half black and she enjoys hip-hop, which seemed irrelevant and unprofessional. Overall, the experience was disappointing. We finished our drinks and appetizer and decided to leave. Unfortunately, due to this experience, we likely won't return.

Cute speakeasy spot located in the Statler. Overpriced drinks as expected from a speakeasy but they were solid. My friend got one I can't recall the name of it, I think it was the Hole Mole drink but not sure, but it came with onions in it, which is interesting I know. Literally smelled like salsa when it was prepared. However there are 3 different ways to drink it; and believe it or not once it was all stirred in together it wasn't too bad. One of my friends got the Pomapdour drink which was amazing! I posted a video of it. It comes with a Crème Brûlée topping that you get to break into the drink. Super cool. This place is great for a date night or a small group, it's pretty small being that it's giving off speakeasy vibes, so I wouldn't recommend for a large group.

Its a cute place. However, this is NOT a speakeasy. Its blasting loud music and people have to yell to talk to each other, making it louder. There is no service if you sit at a table, learned after waiting a while. But once you do order they are nice. Drinks are watered down and not what we are used to.I was really looking forward to a relaxing nightcap. unfortunately, this did not hit the mark. We decided to stay at the Statler vs the Joule for the Speakeasy and Bowling, unfortunately bowling closes early and speakeasy is Deep Ellum-vibe bar.

I came here on Christmas Eve for a few cocktails. Both of these were $18 on the menu and we got a second round of something the bartender created with gin,egg white, and tequila for $11.This is such a cool chill speak easy that's on the pricer side but it makes up in its ambiance, service, and quality. The bartender and owner were so nice and gave us some cookies and gave us a little free coffee liquor!! Def since it was slow for the holidays but we really enjoyed this place. Well def be back for a nice occasion again since the service was great!

Love the Statler but won't be back. This is cowboy campfire music for 30 min then maybe 80s for 39 min. So hard to get a drink and they are $20 for a well drink. Not impressed sorry.

Whiskey Pours were VERY VERY overpriced. Old fashioned left something to be desired. Vibes were 12/10. Not a place for Bourbon enthusiasts, without spending an astronomical amount. Espresso martini was well articulated.
