Hubbs has a small plane and likes to fly semi-locally and get lunch on a weekend. We flew to the airport right next to this place, hopped the barbed wire fence, and were there around 2pm on a Saturday.The green chili cheeseburger was recommended by several helpers. I was skeptical, but this was a shockingly GREAT burger. A hand/formed patty, and you could definitely taste the green chilies. They were not hot, but provided great smoky flavor. A bit of bacon, lettuce, onion and cheese rounded out this burger perfectly. I will be thinking about this burger for a while, and probably should never go back bc it won't live up to this expectation again.The onion rings were on point too--Hand battered. A minor quibble would be they could have been sliced a bit thinner.I didn't love the high top tables and chairs that seemed a bit wobbly. Bathroom was clean (a lighted light switch would be a great improvement since that bathroom is dark.)Service was good and fast.

This is a local restaurant and bar near Possum Kingdom Lake. Great food and friendly service.

Very nice place and loved the patio. Was our first time here at Boondocks (we're from Lubbock, TX).. me and my boyfriend and my ESD (Emotional Support Dog) had a great lunch & our server Amber W was great and gave my dog some free water. Loved everything there.

Food was okay, nothing special. I don't believe anything was homemade.It took forever to get our food and it wasn't very busy. The salad bar is awesome. Smelled very strongly of cigarettes and the tables are super crowded. Probably will not be back.

Really fun place to eat! We had the Friday special. Blackened catfish with roasted red potatoes, hush puppies and a trip to the salad bar! Excellent service and quirky lake decor. Loved it

This looks like a movie perfect setting. it is clean and decorated Texas-Dive style! There is live music at certain times, and there is always a game on the large screens.But, the food is definitely the star of the evening! Homemade potato chips, American fare with a fresh twist, and everything is tasty! They have specials, and a regular menu that will make sure you come back!

Fried chicken had no taste and was full of oil. Waitress was terrible and soooo slow. Hot beer. Terrible place

First time we ate here was to go & my kids love their chicken strips. 2nd went in; we had a big group and everybody was accommodating & staff was great. The salad bar was delicious and my catfish was delicious. 2x we went inside I had the salad bar again plus the chicken fried chicken and that was delicious. And they seemed to be short staffed this round. We waited an extremely long time, and my kiddos were hangry by the time we got her food. It has a laid-back atmosphere. I noticed it more dirty the 2x we went in. Overall, the food was delicious and the staff was nice.

Overall had a terrible experience. Our server seemed like she had never worked in a restaurant before and our wings and burger took over 45 minutes to come out. Both our meals were cold and the quality of chicken was awful. Much to pricy for such a mediocre experience and would never dine there again. Also the bathrooms have an open stall and might as well be sitting on top of each other while shitting. Crap joint.

After reading the review in the PK magazine My family and I chose to eat at the Boondock restaurant this evening. And I must say, It was the worst food we have ever eaten and our bill was extremely outrageous for the less than mediocre food we were served. We do not recommend eating here.
