Birrieria Los Chivos De Oro

My kids go to school over here so it's a good area for me to explore for lunch. Husband and I went here for lunch. We shared the goat. Goat is one of my favorite meats. This goat was good and tender. It came in a bowl of consomme. Bone and all. We got a side of rice and went to town. The goat was so good mixed in with the rice and the salsa and consommé. They give you a warm salsa for chips, but a different salsa that comes with the goat. We came back the next day for dinner. I think it was better for lunch. I still liked it and will return to explore more of the menu.

I always saw this place as I drive by and finally decided to give them a try. With plenty of parking and plenty of seating, I was greeted and told to sit down anywhere. The waitress brought me out some complimentary chips and salsa along with water. I got there right after the lunch rush so there was plenty of space but there were lots of dirty tables that had yet to be cleaned due to the lunch rush. After I sat down I did see the staff cleaning and sweeping so thats good. Now they advertise their birria so that's what I went with for lunch that day.I order the quesa birria that comes with a cup of consume. It did not come with any side and I feel that if your paying $15 for 2 tacos the least it should come with is rice and bean since those sides cost pennies to make. I was planning on ordering something else but since I really wanted to focus on enjoying the birria I only order that. I was skeptical about spending $15 for 2 tacos but let me tell yall they did not skimp on the meat. There was a lot of meat in these tacos and it came out hot and when I open it to put lime and cilantro the goo from the cheese was just amazing. The meat was juice and hot and the seasonings were not overpowering to let the meat shine on its own.Now the consume that it came with was also pipping hot so i had to let it cool down. There was an ingredient that they use in there that I could not pin point but it threw my taste off. Don't get me wrong the consume was ok but I had better. The tacos were big and full of meat I only manage to eat one with half of my rice and beans.The staff was nice and attentive but let me tell yall what happened after I left. I paid with my American Express card and a week later I had an unauthorized charge from somewhere out of state and I begin to think about where my information would have gotten stolen. Thinking back it had to have been here, I shop with that card online and do transactions at big-name retailers and never had a problem. I am thinking the card security system in this place is not good and that's where my information was obtained no douth about it. So my suggestion pay with cash if possible but if you pay with card keep an eye on your statements.

Great authentic Mexican food which is hard to find nowadays! Our waitress was very attentive and nice. I highly recommend trying this restaurant when in the area

Coming from Cali it's hard to find a good Mexican place in Texas. Came in with my family and had the Tapiqueña and was so delicious. My family had the Carne Asada, Cabeza plate and Enchiladas and all was delicious. Hand made tortillas and so much meat. The drinks were jumbo size. All was great will definitely be back.

Place is average size,comfortable seats but the AC must have not been working today.Food for 5, my dad loves the birria, and my mom and kid the carne azada plates. My plate sopes of azada were bland only ate 1 of 3. And my wife had the quesadilla of azada same as the sopes the meat was bland. They also need to work on their salsas, a good salsa will fix any plate. Sodas were flat, and the flavor waters were okay. Waiter provided good service. All in I rate the food 5 of 10. It wasn't that great i had two taco de barbacoa rice and beans my granddaughter had the chicken strips and fries my husband had the ribs and consome rice and strips was horrible tacos where lacking taste they tasted like boiled meat only i asked for a side of sliced oranges i got four slice for 1.75 and they was dry got home around 7 i was so sick to my stomach probably food poisoning

This place is funky and authentic! I had the migas and a Mexican Coke to wash it down with - late brunch. The salsa that comes in the ketchup bottles will chase away any remnants of hang-over. Only Spanish spoken here, but the waitstaff understood exactly what I needed. Fantastic murals too!

If you want the real deal Birria and an authentic Mexican food restaurant, this is the place!! Everything here is amazing and will leave you feeling ready for nap time.

One of the only places that is consistently good! The chilaquiles are the absolute best around, the tacos are huge and everything down to the tortilla has great flavor. They use authentic ingredients that set them apart from other authentic restaurants. Their new location is spacious and the parking is 100x times better.

Great service , best handmade tortillas I've ever had, and the salsa packs a punch . Real local authentic Mexican food .
