Bangkok Orchid Thai

Looked up some restaurants near where I was showing a client over in the Irving area and she picked this place. I had never been there before, but I am always in for surpises and goog Thai! Upon arrival, I saw that the place was rather small tucked away in a strip shopping center. Upon entering, there is Bhudda statue and the place was filled with yummy aromas. We took a seat and Katie our server was quick to give us attention. She brought us our waters and brought us menus. I ordeed spring rolls, which were super fresh and very pretty along with my Pad Thai...my client ordered a curry chicken dish which she said was delicious. We both ordered #3 spicy and it was a perfect tang on the toungue :) I will definately stop back by when in the area!

The soup did not come in a bowl and they included things like baby corn that I asked to be left out. First and last time ordering.

A diamond in the rough! Delicious! Was there for the lunch special which is affordable and served timely. The ladies serving were excellent. The ambiance is that of a semi-romantic hole-in-the-wall. It has been newly painted and looks neat and clean. My food (mixed vegetables with tofu) was very fresh and delicious. My dinner guest had the panang curry and OMG, it was so incredibly good. I'm ordering that next time. We'll be back.

My wife, Daughter, and I had a great lunch here. The food was tasty and the owner was so friendly and welcoming. I recommend going during lunch when they have lunch specials.

Great food can be had here. Sometimes they get very busy, and it's not a very big restaurant so keep that in mind. The servers are very helpful and quick to get your order knocked out. They are located near a Target just in case you are having a hard time searching for them.

I am working on a story for Visit Irving, Texas featuring BYOB spots. We tried Bangkok Orchid Thai Restaurant and everything was very flavorful. Their presentation is beautiful. Looks like they may run on a lot of to-go business, which made for a quiet and relaxing experience.

I saw mixed reviews for this restaurant, but the location worked well for my group of 4 to meet up so we decided to give it a try. I really enjoyed my dinner at Bangkok Orchid! We all shared the egg rolls and I tried the Tom Kha soup with chicken and the Pad Thai with chicken and tofu. The plating was in a very cute bowl and my noodles came on a banana leaf shaped plate which I also loved! The soup was delicious as well as the noodles and I felt the spice level matched what I asked for. They have a ton of items on the menu that sounded good, it was difficult to choose! One of my friends tried a shrimp noodle salad, another had a red curry, and the other had a peanut chicken dish, everything smelled and looked great. We also tried the mango sticky rice to finish which was really tasty!The only complaints I had were that the restaurant was on the warm side, so perhaps the HVAC needs attention, and our entrees arrived at different times. However, everyone really enjoyed the food and the new owner was so friendly. I will definitely be making a return visit soon!

I came in to try this place for the first time and was not greeted at the door. Afterwards, we sat at a table and waited for the waitress to come to our table. There was only an appetizer menu, and I thought that because there was only one other table in the restaurant, that the waitress would come by promptly or at least communicate to us that she'll be there soon. We sat for around 10 minutes waiting and she carried on a conversation with the one other table in the restaurant. At this point, we felt thoroughly ignored. I wish I could have at least tried the food but the service was absolutely awful from the get-go. I would not recommend.

Well, I ordered delivery and the amount of chicken and vegetables in my curry were darn near nothing. My chicken curry had literally 4 small slices of chicken. It tasted GREAT but 4 bits? The papaya salad was more like fish sauce salad. Bummer. Can't send delivery back. Money spent...wasted in this case.

The salad they give you before the meal was by far the blandest salad I've ever had. The entree was alright (curry). Due to the low amount of staff they didn't have most of the drinks, but the desserts were tasty. It was a ghost town in there, the seats were torn (benches), and staff were difficult to communicate with. I would recommend it if you're feeling adventurous, but if you're not bold enough to see if you like it, it would be a safe bet to steer clear.
