B2J Fish Soup

I'd been looking forward to dining at this spot for a while, and I finally got the chance to check it out recently.We came on a weekday for dinner, and there were only a couple of other groups, which was great since this place is pretty small and probably can't handle a big crowd all at once. The interior is beautifully decorated with traditional Chinese elements, creating a cozy and authentic vibe. Our server was super nice, attentive, and took the time to explain the menu to us.We went with the two-person meal set and chose the sour pickled cabbage soup base for the fish. The set also came with two side dishes, so we picked the spicy sour fern starch noodles and chicken gizzards.Everything was amazing-flavorful, well-prepared, and beyond our expectations.The fish was incredibly tender, and honestly, it's better experienced than described. If you're a fan of bold, spicy, and complex flavors, this spot is a must-visit! (And for those who prefer it, you can swap the fish for beef.)Highly recommend checking this place out!

if you're looking for intense flavors, you've come to the right place. the chinese pickled veggies along with the fish are flavor intense. We ended up getting a small combo that feeds two people for about 60 bucks, and it was a lot of food. we got one bowl of fish with two toppings (a-choy root and lotus root), along with two side orders dished and two bowl of rice. for the side orders, we got one black fungus salad and another one was the fried pork belly dish. Both were delicious and i actually enjoyed the black fungus dish a lot more.... in fact it was so good, i put some of the sauce on top of the rice and it was like crack. i don't know how they make the sauce for the black fungus salad, but its refreshing, zesty and overall delicious. As for the fish pot, you can pick from 3 different flavors. we went with the classic signature spicy sour, but you have the option to pick spicy flavor or the tomato flavor. The spicy sour flavor is spicy due to the peppercorns and red chili, and the soup base was intense in flavor.the service was great and they were attentive and came by asking if we need anything else. this is located in the 99 ranch market strip plaza, and don't let the exterior fool you, the interior is actually very nice. I'm shocked they don't have something like this in Southern California, since lots of chinese restaurants will typically open up there before they expand into other cities.

The soup was delicious and I really enjoyed it. But with a few handful pieces of beef for the beef n fish soup which had tilapia I'm not sure how the combo for 2 price justifies. Good for a night you're really craving it I guess. The pickled gizzards were really nice too though a bit spicy for my party

Feels like they've change kitchen staff or owner. The food is slightly different but still delicious. It's a small location, but we didn't have to wait for a table. Music was pretty loud, but they adjusted once they realized it. Great service, very attentive.

I was initially very excited to try this place but left the place feeling very unsatisfied with our meal. Now, let's start with the good. For the sides/appetizers we got the cucumber salad, chicken with chili sauce, and the house made fried milk custard. All of these were pretty good with the fried milk custard being the saving grace of the night. It was perfectly crispy on the outside and the inside was creamy with some light sweetness to it. The actual fish soup itself on the other hand was not something that I enjoyed. I'm not sure if the quality has gone down or if we just got a bad batch considering all the positive reviews on here but the soup was very fishy and watered down. no spiciness from the chilis, no numbness from the peppercorns, no sourness from the pickled greens; all i really got was just fishiness from bad fish.

I tried this place with my sisters and brother in law, because my baby sis had been raving about the sauerkraut fish soup. Unfortunately for her, the location near her in the Seattle area has closed, but we still have this location in Plano!I was happy to try this fish soup because I love acidic foods, and I was not let down. I can't wait to come back with my friends!

IYKYK as far as Asian restaurants go, good food and good service are usually negatively correlated. That is NOT the case at B2J - in fact I had some of the best food and service in the DFW area hereDo not be fooled by the small, intimate space inside the restaurant because the flavors will transport you to places you've never been. My group of 4 got the combo for 3 (honestly portions are huge, we were so full we didn't even finish it). The highlights were the fried pork belly, the fish & beef with classic spicy broth (ofc) , and the milk mochi dessert! As someone who cries while eating hot cheetos, we asked for the soup to be a little bit less spicy and it was perfect for me (thanks to the recommendation of our server). The soup was so flavorful and filled to the brim with tasty morsels.This is my new go-to spot and I will be telling everyone to check it out! Bonus: they have a rewards system so if you're crazy like me you can get some more bang for your buck

Thank goodness Plano has a sauerkraut fish place! The fish was so fresh and the soup base was so flavorful. They have two-four people combos that are a STEAL!! The waitstaff was so friendly and recommended a lot of good appetizers.

Great fish soup and wings! The service was friendly and welcoming. The place is neat and comfortable.
