After the holiday family came to town and invited me to visit at their hotel. I had never heard of Avid. The lobby space is bright, well decorated and spacious. There are 3 seating areas with TVs in each. They have a market, in addition to soft drinks there are also bottled waters and bottled teas. No milk though. And there's a basket with mostly chips on sale. I like how well lit the front desk area is and also that anytime we went by the desk was staffed. The king room is small but nice. The bathroom mirror is completely framed with nice lighting. There's a tiny refrigerator in the room but no microwave, for that you must go downstairs. Instead of a closet in the room there are hangers and coat hooks. This definitely works for a short stay because of the lack of a closet situation, tiny fridge and no microwave. Avid is conveniently located close to plenty of restaurants, some in walking distance and it's also convenient to North Freeway and Western Center Blvd. This hotel is right behind 7 Mile Cafe. Avid is nice in my opinion.

I was traveling from the Texas Gulf Coast through Northern Texas and decided to stop for the evening. I did not want to stop in Dallas due to the traffic and expensive hotel prices, so I decided to stop in Fort Worth. I am very glad I chose this hotel and location. There was very little traffic and the hotel was perfectly located near countless shops and restaurants. The check-in process was seamless and took approximately 2 minutes. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The facilities were all very clean and modern. I had a great stay and got some much needed rest, the complimentary breakfast was a great amenity, as well as the very large coffee and tea self service area. This hotel was affordable and a very convenient stop, it would be great for a couple, solo guest or family.

I have stayed in a few Avid Hotels and love the ones I have stayed in. This one in Fort Worth has to be the worse. I entered my room and the air until smelled of an odd odor. Both queen beds had flakes on the sheets as well as the sheets haven't been changed from the last guests. I nicely asked the person at the front desk for clean sheets and she said that they would take care of the issue. I came back from my job site and nothing was done to my room at all. Still had the same sheets on the bed. I will never stay here again.

Not a whole lot to say other than I think this location is very good, and when comparing other options in the area, a great deal. I was able to get a very good rate on a single King, by speaking directly to the management. I felt like all was done to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. Everything was very clean, but the 2nd floor laundry room could have used some better attention.

I'm giving 1 star only because there is nothing less than 1. My wife and I planned a visit to my hometown of Fort Worth to view the Eclipse on April 8, 2024. We made reservations at this hotel. Confirmed that our support dog (a small fluffy Multi-poo) could stay with us on the evening of the 7th of April. We were told no problem and no additional charge.First, please understand that both my wife and I have some medical challenges that make walking hard sometimes. We suffer quite a bit of pain. especially after driving all the way from Longview to Fort Worth.1. I walked up to the desk at Avid Hotel in Fossil Creek at about 3:30 pm and handed my driver's license to the person at the register, and stated we were there for our reservation. 2. Another person behind the desk area, said we must pay $100 more for the service dog to stay. I tried to explain that I had called the Hotel in February, before making firm reservation and was assured we could bring the service dog. The person who was speaking to me claimed to be the Manager and insisted that I had not called the Hotel. She insisted I was lying.3. As I attempted to explain that I had verified with both the Hotel and the reservation desk, She (the mgr?) repeated to me several times during what little discussion we had that "I am the manager!" She was apparently on some power trip'. Then she told me I could leave, so I said fine, just give me a refund and I would go elsewhere. The other worker in front of the register appeared to be about to do so when she said; "NO! We don't do refunds, you have to call who you made reservations with and ask them!" 4. She then put her phone camera up in my face and began, apparently, filming me without my permission. While doing that, she picked up another phone in her free hand and began dialing. She said "Leave now or I will call the police!" 5. I decided to leave and began making my way out. Told my wife, let's go. My wife said to her that she was very rude. The Mgr then told her; "So is your husband. That's why he is all crippled up; because he is so nasty." I urged my wife to come and that we must leave, since she/(the Mgr) had ordered us to leave the premises and to not do so would amount to Criminal Trespass. I was quite offended that the manager commented on my disability like that. I am a Vietnam Veteran and should not have to put up with such behavior. No one should!Since that day, I have called multiple contacts that one would expect to investigate and force a refund from the hotel. But all I get is delays and excuses. Finally being told that: "Unfortunately, we have been informed by our hotel partner that a refund will not be granted due to the cancellation policy that was provided and agreed upon at the time of booking. We value you as a customer and apologize that we are not able to offer your desired resolution at this time."We did not cancel! We were refused the service we had reserved and paid for months in advance. We are simply asking for a full refund, since we paid and waited over 2 months for our trip only to have to go stay at my sister's house for that evening. It was difficult on both my wife and me, physically harmful and emotionally distressing.I am continuing to research my options for obtaining some recompense for the rude, unnecessarily hostile, aggressive, and, I believe, illegal treatment. I offer this review to protect others from such treatment and urge you to not do business with this hotel or the IHG Hotels chain with which they are affiliated. John Mayfield

I am a frequent traveler (a few times per month) and this is by far my WORST hotel experience. I will NOT be staying at another IHG establishment and will encourage my active duty and veteran partners not to support IHG establishments either.Upon arrival and check-in, the front desk attendant attempted to charge my credit two times for the full room rate even though I had already prepaid for the room. After correction twice I was simply charge $50 for the incidental deposit. After check-out, my credit card was charged $131. I called to inquire about the charges and was told that there was a "black substance" that stained the mattress. I let the attendant know that I did not have any black substances during my one night stay. I was then accused of having someone else in the room that may have stained the mattress. I asked to speak to a manager and was told I couldn't and to contact IHG management. After getting off the phone, I was then charged an additional $100 ($281 total) and emailed a generic video of a mattress with stains. I asked them to provide evidence or proof that it was my room or that the stain occurred during my stay and was simply told it "was your room".After a lengthy back and forth via email, my integrity was questioned and no resolution was met. I feel targeted, scammed, and helpless in this situation and can only advocate for others not to book at this location. Again, as a frequent traveler and active duty service member, I have never experienced anything quite like this and would welcome a resolution from either the hotel or IHG management but until then I will not support the hotel chain based on their negligence and foul practices. I do NOT recommend booking this hotel!

the hotel was a cute location and had restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast was pretty limited but the overall experience was great.

The staff was nice and it was cheap. However, there was a horrid smell in the hotel and the toilet would backup every time someone next to me flushed there's. Not to mention the elevator seemed sketchy and there was no certification sticker anywhere.
