Angelina's Don Louis' Mexican Restaurant

We have been dining at the Angelina's Restaurant group of locations for over 30 years. However, we've never been to this one, as it's quite a ways from where we live. And frankly, it's across from Elm Fork, which we love. We were given a gift card to come here, and we are very glad that we did!Anastasia was our server, she did a very good job of taking care of everything we needed as well as answering any questions that we had!I posted the brunch/breakfast menu and the lunch menu but not the dinner menu. Definitely great prices for both of these times a day! We were there for lunch.I know this location has been open for years, however, it looks like they just opened yesterday! Everything looks well maintained and neat. Great lighting, and what appears to be a really nice bar area. Additionally, they have an upstairs seating area. And live music at least once a week. Definitely a must try if you haven't, we certainly will be coming back!

Met a friend for lunch here and service was fast, friendly, and the food was tasty. I ordered the chicken flautas and never had it with flour tortillas. I actually liked it this way. I requested the dour cream sauce on the side.First time here and I will be back. This was the lunch special portion.Very good.

Tex mex, Tex mex, Tex mex, I can't say enough about this place.The food is well presented, and delicious.I had the grilled tilapia.For me, it was a lite lunch, but fillingThe he service was good.Right on point.Our servers name was Sarahi and she was awesome.Very friendly,The atmosphere, was more up to date, than the food.Very retro, but the food was authentic.Needless to say, I'd recommend this place to everyone.

The food was delicious. The waitress was so sweet, and thoughtful. I really appreciated how kind everyone was. The place is cute and well decorated, and not so loud that you can't hear your family having conversation. I really enjoyed everything. Thanks for a great Sunday!

I ordered the Chile relleno lunch plate. Rice and beans are bland, salsa is extremely mild, relleno just ok. The 1800 margarita was fantastic, and the bartender was awesome. Fantastic service.

Well, well, well. Their pitchers of top shelf margaritas on the rocks are pretty darn good. We hit this location about once a month and the service is always fast and friendly. As much as I'm not a true Tex-Mex gal, Angelina's gets it right. As soon as we were seated, Letty helped us get our queso and habanero avocado crema to the table quickly. The margs showed up shortly after and we dug into their homemade chips and salsa. The salsa is usually not spicy as I prefer but the habanero crema kicks it up at times.Don't be dismayed by habanero listed as the first ingredient with the crema. It's made fresh daily so if the peppers aren't spicy, it's just that batch. And, it's never that spicy but it's one of the best things on the menu so you may want to try it out. My hubby ordered shrimp fajitas and I split the Fiesta Supreme with my friend. I say split but I filled up on chips so I couldn't do as much damage.My hubby had enough shrimp to go around. The chicken nachos and quesadillas were perfect. I was confused about the flautitas and mistakenly thought they were supposed to be rolled in flour tortilla and then fried. Nope, these are just the corn tortilla fried version so more of a taquito. Since I was having fried stuff I went ahead and splurged on a side order of french fries too. There's something about french fries dipped in cheese that takes me back to my childhood.Next time, I know.. I'll have to order the Tex-Mex flautitas, french fries and a side of grilled veggies. AND try not to fill up on chips... So, if you're wanting to try a local place, give this a go. The top shelf margs are worth the money and the people are great! Go there, get some. Life is too short for boring food!

We went to the new Angelina's restaurant in Hickory Creek. First, I would consider this a Mexican restaurant and not a tex-mex restaurant (yes, there is a difference). The staff was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. I was on the fence as to what to order, and when I asked our waitress her opinion, she told which one was the most popular out of the 2 choices and which was her favorite. I went with her favorite (pollo a la parilla) and was not disappointed. Very nice atmosphere, very clean and enviting. To start the salsa before the meal was some of the best I've had north of the mexican border.We had the Bistec A La Mexicana and the Pollo A La Parilla. The steak in the Bistec was very tender. The tomato based sauce reminded me of achiote sauce on dishes I would get in the yucatan. Phenomenal flavor. The pollo was also very tender, and the avocado sauce was very flavorful. My one fault was there was a little too much sauce but easily pushed to the side. Most tex-mex restaurants serve refried beans, but few make them well. I'm not sure what they do differently, but they were a perfect texture they were not overly heavy and very flavorful. We did not get dessert but will definitely be back to try more dishes and their sopapillas. This is a small gem in a sea of dfw restaurants.

Ordered takeout many times with no issue. Food always good. Yesterday got enchiladas to go and ordered an extra bag of chips and salsa that I was charged $3.99 for. Anytime I've ordered in past I get a full, small bag of chips WITH the meal. But I intentionally ordered an EXTRA bag and knew that I would be charged for the EXTRA bag. Food was fine. But what was done on the chips is odd. I was given the full additional bag that I paid extra for. The other small bag was only filled 1/4 or less. Why?

Rooftop bar is very cool. Staff is super nice! Shout out to Freda and Tyler. Burrito grande with extra cheese was delicious. Will definitely be back. La flaca margarita with patron reposado sub for silver was excellent.
