I would have never found this site if if wasn't for a friend giving me a historical tour of allen, tx. I was very impressed and in awe of the buildings. I didn't get an opportunity to speak to any of the volunteers today but I did walk through the area while my friend explained the history she knew about (the homes and the outhouses). What was really beautiful was the stained glass in the church's windows. If you have a chance to visit this historic area, please do.

Visited this place after disappointing Allen Model Railroad Day at the Allen Heritage Depot museum.( see my review also). They have an open house once a month, on the 3rd Sunday. You can visit church and 2 homes. They were build I believe around 1890-1920 and moved to this area to be preserved and taken care of. Each building had several ladies that go with you and talk about olden days, furniture and how people used to live in these houses.I think these ladies are volunteers. Thank you for very interesting time.
