The food here is so good. This is one of our favorite fast-casual korean restaurants to hit any and every time. My Korean family loves the soondae gook (blood sausage soup) and raw crab, although the soondubu (tofu soup), pork cutlet and spicy boneless wings are my favorite as someone who didn't grow up eating Korean food. Not only is the food amazing but prices are so, so good here. We like to sit in the side room in the back of the restaurant which is really quiet, but any spot in this cozy restaurant is a good one. They've recently expanded and have a banchan (korean side dishes) store next door, they've done so well. One pointer- bring your own to-go boxes! They will charge you for them.

Every time I visit family in DFW, I always request that one of our family meals is here. I live in the Midwest and I can't get marinated crab or blood sausage. This place is my favorite. There are pictures at the counter if you're not sure what to get. Once you order, you just find a table for yourself and they will call your number (listed on your receipt). I always get the No. 3 (spicy soondae soup) because it's one of only things that comes with the raw marinated crab as a banchan (side). We've been here during the weekdays, but came on a Sunday today and the parking lot was packed. Plenty of parking near IHOP and it was a short walk.

Hands down the best hole in the wall, mom and pop Korean Restaurant in DFW! Ajumma has been in the business for a long time. It's a very casual and homey establishment where you order at the register and everything else is self-service. For a hole in the wall place their menu is decently sized with interchanging seasonal items. They even have a few of their items frozen for to go, such as their blood sausage and raw marinated crabs. They are probably best known for their blood sausage (soondae) and blood sausage soup (soondae gook), as they were one of the first few Korean restaurants in DFW to start serving them. Their blood sausage by itself is a great value for the price although I have had better- I do think it could use a bit more blood and flavor amongst the glass noodles that it's stuffed with. However, their blood sausage soup is excellent and is so soothing for the soul with the porky milky rich broth with ample amount of blood sausage and other toppings. Ajumma was also the one of the first restaurants in DFW to begin making soy marinated crab as well, and you can't go wrong with them for the price. You can get them to-go that's already frozen, or you can order their soy marinated crab set that comes with rice and a few side dishes. There are so many more local Korean restaurants that serve them now and do better, but you will pay more for them. It's also not overly sweet like how they can do at other places. One of my favorite items is their chunguk jang, which is a soybean stew that is extra fermented. Because it's fermented for longer, it has more pungent flavor that I really enjoy, and I have yet to find any other place in DFW that make this stew better than they do (Hampyung Noodle is a close second). I highly recommend their seafood chunguk jang for flavor overload. All in all, Ajumma is an excellent place to dine in if you are wanting a quick, authentic and affordable homely Korean meal. I haven't had anything here that taste bad and the portion size is excellent too. Ajumma's ambience and food will instantly make you feel nostalgic even if you can't relate!

MY FAVORITE KOREAN PLACE IN DFW!! I came all the way from New Orleans just to eat here again. Cannot go wrong with any dish. The spicy soondooboo is perfect to pair with any of their dishes. Their pork bulgogi has an addicting flavor with a huge portion size compared to other Korean restaurants. The udon is sooo yummy, but I wished they gave more noodles. The rice cake soup was only $4!!! I always look forward to eating here when shopping around the Korean area in Carrollton. This is truly a hidden gem with affordable prices with huge portions.

Katsu size was great and very crispy. The sauce was a little too sweet/sour for my taste but it made for a not super dry meal which was great. Wished rice serving had more and wished they gave some banchan to snack on during the meal. Ladies at the counter were very nice and offered us some free soup which was super dope.

FOODTteokbokki - the texture of the rice cake was good. It was chewy and not too stiff. The fish cake was good. Spicy but not too spicy. Pretty ok overall. Sundae - Doesn't taste smelly which is good. The sausage has good texture with chewiness from the glass noodles and blood. Served with other meats as well. Stir fried squid with rice - They gave pretty decent sized portions of squid. There was not much grill flavor as other places around the area but the seasoning and the texture is really good. It came with rolled egg, kimchi, and rice. The rice is some type of bean rice that tastes good. The rolled egg was kind of mid and the kimchi was really good! The portions are decent sized for their price and would definitely recommend as comfort food. Food quality is pretty yummy!VIBESThis place gives very home and comfort vibes. The walls have calligraphy ink style wallpaper. You order food then go sit anywhere. There soft benches as well as chairs that are divided by short wall dividers. SERVICEMost of the people serving or taking order are Korean aunties with limited English. I definitely recommend telling them the number to order if you don't speak Korean.

This is going to be a long review. TL;DR - delicious, cheap, come and try it!This place looks unsuspecting like a tiny cafe from the outside, but is actually a large homely korean cafe on the inside. Everything is self serve for utensils, water, and returning plates to the shelf in the back next to the counter/kitchen. Prices are cheap, servings are generous, and service is very fast. Don't be fooled by the outside or even the view by the entrance - there is LOTS of seating. There are a bunch of large and small tables by the entrance. If those are full then there's a room further in with more tables inside. At Korean restaurants I always worry I won't hear them call my order, but here they call order numbers over the intercom which is loud, clear, and automated. We ordered a Spicy Soondaeguk (spicy Korean pork blood vege sausage stew), Dogani (beef tendon stew), and a Tonkatsu (pork cutlet). Every stew comes with a bowl of purple rice, kimchi radish and cabbage, and a side of sweet raw crab. The tonkatsu came with Cole slaw, purple rice, and ginger. I'm pretty picky when it comes to kimchi but the kimchi here was spicy, refreshing, and delicious. The soondaeguk is absolutely an acquired taste. The sausage didn't have much blood flavor and had plenty of clear noodles. The broth was thick and delicious, and came with copious amounts of meat and veggies. The dogani was also the same - lots of beef tendon, thick delicious broth, and plenty of clear noodles that were full of flavor. The tonkatsu's outside was thin and a little crunchy, meat was flavorful, and was drenched in tonkatsu sauce with mayonnaise drizzled on top.

This place knows how to do it. It's quite refreshing to see Korean food made well and the portions are gigantic! The food tasted authentic and freshly made. It gave me Korean church community kitchen vibes which was nostalgic and the price point was amazing. You get so much food for your buck. The ladies were extremely friendly and the environment was clean as well. I would definitely come back.

My first time coming to try this place and it was great. You have to go and place your order first then they'll call you when it's ready. The side dishes were good and everything had a good taste.
