A Great Notion

I love going to A Great Notion for karaoke. This is a real Texas dive bar. Neon signs all around the bar and sports on their big screen TVs, plus lots of seating and room for dancing. They also have one pool table and an area for darts.The drinks are cheap and there is a big open free parking lot in front. Karaoke is always fun and a mixed age crowd so lots of variety in what people sing. Check it out!

Ive always wanted to know what its like in here!My friend, Jess was looking forsomething to do on a Saturday evening. I suggested we check out A Great Notion since, Ive heard a lot about it. Its actually a Karokee Pub!This is a very small pub with no smoking. Thank you, Jesus! If your a smoker you can smoke outside. As you walk in to the left, there looks like their was a place for a payphone. It is super dark in there. Theres a steep step in the entrance so watch your step! Everyone here keeps to themselves. Its a really mature crowd. The Karookee was Krunk. The Hostess had a great voice and she was confident in her ability to sing. There was a bag that you walk up too and pick out a song, totally random. You had no idea what song or Genre you would be singing! Everything from Guns n Roses to Country! The words on the screen are on the screen so you can sing a long. Yippee! Theres also a tv so you can watch the Rangers play. Goo Rangers!If you like to play pool. Theres a pool table available. Do you like to play darts? You can play darts there too.I forgot to mention this place is right next to a Laundromat. You can hangout at this place if you wanna take a break from your laundry. You will have to check out this litte Karoke Pub sometime.

This is a type of bar I would like to explore. Dive, dark, cheap drinks and just friendly atmosphere. Patrons are just having fun while sipping on their favorite libation. I would definitely come back to get to know more about the bar and their staff.

I was on vacation in TX and was looking for a down to earth friendly karaoke place. After reading the reviews of this establishment, we decided to try it out.I must say this is about the friendliest place I've been to in a long time. I even won 15.00 for singing Karaoke!! The local crowd and the bartenders were amazing.I will def go back when I'm back in the Ft. Worth area. This place is a must try!

Love this place! If you are looking for a great dive bar look no further, the bartenders are awesome! Monica and Edd make it so much fun! The owner Gail is so nice to everyone! Drink prices are on point and they never short poor you. Annette's club sandwichs are wonderful!

This was the 1st time I had ever been. But the wait staff and bar patrons were very friendly. They were probably bar regulars, but they did not treat us like strangers. A Great Notion is small and a bit of a dive bar (in a good way).This place is different because they have karaoke every night Thursday through Sunday. They have a good, permanent set up for karaoke. I've lived in Ridgmar for almost 60 years, I thought I would go here for a drinkNow and then and hang out with people who might have grown up in my neighborhood, but, most of the people who hang out here are not from this neighborhood, the bar tending staff can be very rude, I was asked to get out of a chair at the bar, there were no other people in the bar at that time, but someone came in and told me that was their chair, I said excuse me, but I'm sitting here, the bar tender told me to get out of the "drunken psycho dudes chair" so I called her a bitch, now I'm "barred" so it's for the best, I really think the bartender Cindy was jealous, I had become very popular with a lot of the patrons there, I could never make her "smile" I tried very hard, but she's a real "sour puss" bye now Notion.

Been going off and on for the past year, great staff, including the kararoke DJ, decent prices my favorite hangout!

6 dart boards, 1 tiny pool table, cheap drinks, smells like a nursing home. Looks like a local hangout. Everybody seems to know everybody else.

Worst customer service and atmosphere I have ever experienced in a local watering hole! I have never been so mistreated and disrespected in a place where I am a patron the same as everyone else. This place no longer has the same great reputation it once did when the original owner was still alive. The woman who sits in the corner has run everyone off or pissed them off to a point where they don't want to come in. Worst place to do Karaoke in town. Why have karaoke if the old cronies are gonna bitch and complain the whole time that it's "Too Loud!!" You can't even hear yourself sing because the volume is so low as to not upset the old Cronies! I have given this place many chances and am constantly disrespected to a point where I have a bad taste in my mouth towards this place and wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to enter this establishment of drama and hatefulness!
