Just tried this place out due to high reviews, I didn't personally see how the reviews warranted. Our food took around 20 minutes when we were the only people there. Our server brought our food out and never checked on us again. After letting her know I was going to order an extra taco to go, I had to get up and stand at the counter for a couple minutes before she noticed me. As a server myself it was the first time in probably 5 years I tipped under 20%. The creamy verde was unbalanced being too citrusy and herby. The pastor did not taste like any pastor I've had before. I will say the lengua was very good and the tinga taco was pretty good while the meat was a little tough, my breakfast tacos were also pretty good. Everyone was also very friendly though the service wasn't quite there. Our server was busy shutting down the side room so she was a little distracted which I can understand. I'm giving this place the benefit of the doubt and am going to try it again because everyone has off days. Hopefully I can come back to this review and make amends.

This hole in the wall touched my heart! Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and so glad I did. The service was warm and friendly! The man who took our order was so eager to tell us about the menu once we let him know we were first timers. Let's get to the foodddddd me oh my! When I tell you the meat in every dish was so juicy! While eating me and my friend couldn't stop talking about it! You can tell they took their time cooking okay! The cheese dip was good and the housmade chips were great! Honestly, DFW area needs more of this quality!

Tacos are really good! They also serve breakfast tacos. Their salsas are really good, both the green and red sauce have good flavor. I've taken my food to go but they do have tables inside if you'd prefer to dine in. It is a small restaurant so it is easy to miss. It is directly across the street from Dutch bros, right in between Fattoush and Mad Mike's. Next visit I want to try a torta or a gordita and I will definitely post it!

This is the best Mexican food around. It's hard to think of better! I've met Arturo and Rolando a few times, they've catered a few events I've hosted. Always 5 stars. And they always cook on the spot so your food is truly hot and fresh. Ahhh nothing smells better than homemade tortillas and onions caramelizing on a super hot grill! Everything Dos Compas serves is homemade to order -- the tortillas and chips, refried beans, arroz with veggies, salsas and sauces, chicharrones and churros. They're grilling, frying, stuffing, and serving the most satisfying tacos, gorditas, quesadillas, tortas, huaraches, burritos, and enchiladas around. Plus breakfast burritos, chilaquiles, and flautas. Their proteins are each stellar.. slow cooked pulled pork, chipotle shredded chicken, marinated steak. Plus grilled nopales (cactus) and grilled seasonal veggies. Lucky for everyone the menu is clearly marked with gluten free, veggie, and vegan options. Depending on what you order you'll get plenty of refreshing toppings like onion, cilantro, lime, crema, and queso fresco, Monterrey Jack and mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced crunchy radishes, and a red and green salsa that you always need more of. Wash it all down with something just as tasty like a house-made horchata, agua fresca, or Mexican coke. 2 Compas also carries Oak Cliff Beverage Works locally hand-crafted sodas (made with pure sugar cane) in lots of flavors: ginger ale, root beer, grape, iced tea, mandarin, rojo grande (big red), spritz, and cola. I pick root beer! I am desperately looking forward to my next visit. I'm getting a huarache with pastor. Or maybe a gordita.

Had a taco plate with barbacoa, Pastor, and chicharron tacos, rice, beans, and a horchata to drink. The horchata was one of the most flavorful I have had. The tacos also did not disappoint. They were filled with meat and very filling. The rice was pillowy and the beans very good as well. Their Yelp rating is well deserved. It's nice to find a family run restaurant that takes pride in their food.

Listen. I'm coming back. Saw this promoted in Real Arlington Foodies FB group. She posted about the nachos (which weren't on the menu). SundaySeptember 2023 5:45 (closes at 6 on Sundays) Parking: little tight parking lot. Right past Dairy Queen in pantego. IWe called and placed an order over the phone. Beef (bistec) quesadilla plate and Al pastor nachos. (A little under $25). Quoted us 15 min. We were 6 min out. Order was ready in ten. Nachos. Are. FIREEEEEEEE. Anytime I want some, I'm coming back. (8.5/10). I didn't eat them until ten min later, though, so I know it would be a little higher. Quesadillas--- it didn't come with rice and beans. Bummer. I ordered the "plate" but maybe that doesn't mean rice/beans here. Or maybe he misheard. (Quesadillas are a 8/10, per my friend.) Mexican cokes are available (a little under $4 each) Con: smells like rotten eggs when you walk inside. They didn't have chicken fajita for the quesadilla We didn't witness bad service like other reviews stated, but keep in mind we ordered to go. Will return.

We ordered to-go: 2 bistec quesadillas for the meat eaters and a variety of veggie and nopales things for the plant based eater (2 tacos, a sope and a gordita). Plus all three versions of the churros. It was all really good! Will definitely be returning. For the food, and likely in between for the churros.Note: if you've never had nopales before, they have an okra-like texture, if you're familiar with that. Means they could be described as having a "slimy" texture and might not be your cup of tea. But remember: that's a you thing, and not a dish thing. If you love nopales, you'll love their nopales dishes.Enjoy!

Best street tacos and breakfast tacos in Arlington!I discovered this gem of a spot earlier this summer! Typically order their Bistec tacos but I've tried all of the varieties! I've ordered for myself and a large group and food always is prepared and packaged nicely! I've never ate at the restaurant but it looks cozy and very clean every time I pick up food. Service is prompt and polite!
