A must for people who are gluten free. They have the best gluten free crust, AND it actually tastes like dough!! Just call ahead and make sure they reserve one for you as they go fast. Also keep in mind it is $5 extra on top of the pizza price for gluten free.

finally got to try forno rosso right on our doorstep in west loop the caputo cup is winning pizza was definitely the better of the two pizzas ordered (the other was prosciutto and arugula) but still behind spacca in terms of crust and pizza variety they have a lovely patio and would be a great place for a friends gathering in the summer Service was friendly and straight to the point.

First time trying this west loop pizza place and we loved it! They are a dog friendly patio and they all love dogs! They brought him his own water dish and everyone wanted to say hello. A lot of the servers were Italian and they were so nice and warm and inviting from the first moment we stepped in. This restaurant has a selection of appetizers, one pasta and all the rest is pizza. Lots of selections between red and white pizza and it's all Neapolitan style which is one of my favorites after visiting Naples. We got the Gnocchi and one pizza to split and it was the perfect amount of food. The crust was slightly chewy and delicious and they are very accommodating with topping requests. Such a great place, we would love to return.

Easily the BEST pizza in Chicago. Came here after spending a week in the Almalfi Coast and these pizzas definitely do Neapolitan pizzas justice. The service was quick and servers were super friendly. They offered a spicy olive oil that was the perfect compliment to the pizza! The inside was clean, modern, and super comfortable. Will definitely be visiting again!

Italian friend said this is his favorite restaurant so it's a must try if you wanna try legit Italian pizza.Burrata:really soft bread with thick chunks of of cheese. It's good but kinda pricey for a thin breadSquash porchetta white sauce pizza: today's special pizza. A bit on the sweet side. Unique and Halloween flavor I guessSausage onion prosciutto pizza: good flavor and on the salty side which I like Tres carne pizza: meat lovers favorite I assumeNutella pizza dessert: interesting dessert pizza with Nutella fillingCoppa pistachio: lots of pistachios on top with gelato in a cup. Very Italian style.Limoncello martini: not my favorite limoncello drink. More like watered down limoncelloWaiters are nice and you can see lots of Italians here so you know it's legit

When I had this Italian Neapolitan pizza for the first time, it changed the way I looked at pizza, I was so used to the Chicago deep dish and the NYC thin crust style. We ordered burrata and pistacchio pizza. The bread for the burrata was really soft, light, and easy to tear. That butter in the middle was full of flavor and creamy. I wished I had more of this but I had to stop and make room for pizza. After receiving the pistacchio pizza, that aroma was intoxicating. That first bite is very important. I tasted the basil and pistacchio pesto first, then fresh sausage and mozzarella. You'll feel full but not like overstuffed, like you're going to explode with the deep dish. Terrific service and prices are very standard for this area of Chicago. There was a sufficient amount of seating inside.

Quite pleasing pizza, especially the gluten free crust!Heard great things about gluten free crust, so was esp hyped.AMBIENCE - 9/10 -- Well located place with solid seating, with variety of views and plant matter. We sat close to a little glimpse of the pizza-making process, which was delightful.QUALITY - 8/10Caputo (Cup Winning) -- A standard, fine red pizza whcih was award-winning. Pleasing to consume.Tortufo -- Was worried since saw another review suggesting it was too thick, as I am not a fan of truffle taste myself. The subtle truffle taste was very pleasing, really authentic feel and a genuine glimpse of luxury.CRUST -- the gluten free crust was def a highlightCHEESE -- was tough and had a stringy (almost rubbery) feel, which was not enjoyable. It reminds me a bit of an ox, which contrasted with the subtle rich texture profile of the other pizza elements. Nor does it possess the saucy thickness of a deep dish. Example, the Costco cheese pizza cheese is slightly better when fresh out of the oven. This is mozzarella, not nylon rope... I've had microwavable pizza with more personality synergy per the cheese. This was the definitive thing in the way of a 10/10. SERVICE - 8/10 -- - one of our group was vegetarian so they kindly put the Tortufo sausage on the side- pizza came in a reasonable timeframe, about 15 min- water refills was brought in timely manner- chili oil and peppers was well arranged - they charged us extra $5 each for the crust even though it was not mentioned on the menu, and we only asked "is the crust gluten free?" and got a yes. This felt quite underhanded and confusing since it was not mentioned anywhere on the menu that gluten free was extra (or even a specifically option)VALUE - 8/10 -- It was a delicious pizza and unique feeling experience. The gluten free crust being present was quite a joy, yet it was upcharged $5 vs the menu. OVERALL - 8/10 -- Solid pizza experience, if slightly underhanded pricing dealings.

We are big fans of Forno Rosso. They are one of three exquisite wood fire Italian pizzerias in Chicago, and they are definitely the most accessible! As a result, we chose to celebrate our birthdays with Forno Rosso (again), and it remains an excellent choice for celebration!Since it is an upscale Italian wood fire pizzeria, we recommend making reservations. It is a guaranteed way to reserve your spot and secure your noms! From the moment you walk in, you are transported to Italy and receive great service! Both the outdoor and indoor spaces are spectacular, so you can't go wrong. Whichever floats your boat. I like sitting inside to see the wood fire oven, but the outdoor space seems great too!The servers are lovely. Super informative, friendly, and kind, but not too 'in your business.' The drink menu is fantastic. There are a wide variety of wines and scrumptious cocktails to choose from. My friend got a glass of Prosecco and the rest of us got the Revolution Brewery special. Yum!Three of us for pizzas for dinner and my dad got one of the calzones. For hungry people like us, one pizza is enough for one person. My friend did end up getting a box, though. My husband and I both got the Locale pizza with locally sourced sausage and loved it! My friend got the Diavollo and thoroughly enjoyed the extra spice. My dad loved his calzone, but was only able to eat about 3/4 of it. It is HUGE and delectable. Highly recommend!Prices are decent, given the location on Randolph St/Fulton Market. But it is definitely worth the expense. Delicious. World Class. A truly Italian experience. Finally, we received the most wonderful birthday celebration of decadent cannoli's. YUM! Thank you to Forno Rosso for a wonderful birthday dining experience. You continue to win our devotion and we cannot wait until our next visit!

Visiting Chicago for the weekend and staying just up the road from Forno Rosso, decided to give it a try and glad I did. I was stationed in Italy for several years and fell in love with truly great pizza and I'm happy to say that Forno Rosso is doing it right! I sat at the bar as I was solo and Patrick was attentive and welcoming. I had a nice glass of wine and the Diavola pizza with gorgonzola and drizzled pepperoncini oil and it was delicious! Dough was properly fermented and crust had a great crunch and sponginess, like it supposed to. It was cooked to perfection in their wood fired oven. Spoke with the owner, Rich, and let him know how much I enjoyed eating at his place. Definitely would eat there again.
