Formaggio Kitchen

A bit expensive but not much higher than your typical gourmet grocery store in Boston - comparable to the prices you'd see in Eataly. However, the staff here is lovely. They have a pretty diverse cheese collection and source tasty bread locally. The cheesemongers have great recommendations and the counter workers are always happy to help with anything - giving out ideas for what to do with materials sourced from the store. While I don't recommend going in to look for cheap ingredients, you can expect great specialty products priced somewhat fairly and welcoming staff who are happy to help plan your next cheese night.

Definitely our favorite grocery store in Boston so far! Price is not cheap but selection and quality is fantastic.

Incredible assortment of mostly imported and some local food items. A lot of their items are outside of my budget but I have found a couple really affordable and a couple splurge worthy options. My favorite "affordable" items are their Iggy's croissants and breads, to go coffee, parm cheese rinds (call ahead to see if they have them) and by the pound olives. I tend to splurge on a small amount of cheddar, parm cheese, and wine. I love visiting, even just for bread, and love the smells of the shop and the little tastes available. As expected, from my experience at the mother ship Formaggio, the staff are incredibly helpful and very knowledgeable.

LOVEEED my time at Formaggio. Visited during their Sunday cookout, and was simply astounded by their collards, pulled pork, baked beans, and Mac and cheese. It was all so delicious and the flavors went so well together, and I absolutely would be happy to try some more of their options. It all looked so good. The staff was excited to tell us about each item and gave some good recs, and I loved the community/outdoorsy layout of the situation. Loved!!

A cute little shop for sandwiches, cheeses, unique snacks, and liquor! I ended up getting a chicken pesto grilled sandwich along with some ciders and wine, and they were all great! We ended up eating at their outside tables, which were nice. I have yet to try their fun snacks but will be back soon.

Because I live out of state, I have Formaggio Kitchen ship their Fra Diavolo sauce to me. Both the product and the shipping are expensive, which is not a problem unless something goes wrong with your shipment. In my second shipment from them, I received a leaking jar. Fortunately, the product inside was ok, so I didn't complain. The third shipment I received from them contained 2 jars that were leaking and both had noticiable mold around the lids. Neither were salvageable. When I went to contact the company about a possible refund for those 2 jars, I was given a canned response of 'you accept the liability for a shipment gone wrong', and if you don't contact us within 48 hours (I didn't open the box immediately b/c of a power outage), then you are outside of your window of delivery satisfaction. So buyer beware! If you are ordering from this company from out of state and anything goes wrong, you are out of luck. I will not be ordering again.

One of the most delightful shopping experiences I have ever had. I look forward to every trip to this store. Products are superb, staff are helpful and well-informed. Great execution of a great idea!

I love formaggio! I have gotten great wine recommendations from the staff at this location. They also helped me pick meats and cheeses for a charcuterie board for a special occasion. I like that you can get small amounts of different meats and cheeses if you're only buying for 1-4 people. Price wise it's a treat but everything I've gotten has been delicious and worth it!

HOMEMADE CHEESE DANISH ON THURSDAYS!!!I had the good fortune to stop by the store Thursday, the day that the chef makes housemade cheese danish. They are made with a butter rich dough, housemade ricotta cheese and cream cheese filling and were topped with roasted apples. I grew up in New York and I am no stranger to great Danish, but I have never had one that compares with this pastry! I bought six and delivered them to friends and family! While there, I also grabbed some of the chocolate chip bread pudding, homemade cookies, pecan sticky bun and sweet potato bisque. The sandwiches that they sold all looked like works of art and I was told that they have an in house pizza on Friday. Incredible find!
