Fool's Errand

We finally got to check out Fool's Errand after they reopened and were not disappointed.Everything we tried surprised us in the best possible way. We went for four cocktails that seemed to have an interesting balance of herbaceous / earthy notes: mattress money, espresso martini (not what you're thinking--this one features cynar, averna, and branca mentha), grandma's baby, and a blended scotch flip style cocktail with beets we forgot the name of. They were all lovely, but those first two were our favorites.They certainly delivered in the unique/funky direction, and none felt too sweet. It was so fun and lovely to have an espresso martini that focused on different dimensions of bitter that complemented the coffee and with sweet underlying, not playing center.I particularly enjoyed that they all took several moments to unfold and tell a story. You got something distinct at the beginning, something new in the middle, and something quite different at the end. This happened perhaps a bit less in the beet cocktail, but it intriguingly grew more earthy as we kept sipping.We asked the bartender at the end who came up with them and he said he did! So on top of being a wonderful, personable and kind server, he was the talent behind the lovely menu. Kudos Rob, looking forward to returning.

Drinks were delicious! It is a smaller place so seating can be limited and they are often at capacity and can't accommodate more than 15-20 people at a time.Service was pretty quick considering it's just one bartender! Drinks were well made. The decor here is what makes it! The decorations and ambiance are great and they have a killer playlist. It's definitely a great place to stop for a round or two during a night out.

Came in here with a friend. Asked for an Aperol Spritz. An extremely unfriendly bartender says to us "the ingredients of it are too expensive, choose something else". So I ask him how much is it exactly? He doesn't answer and just goes about taking the empty glasses away. We waited for his answer but after he clearly wasn't going to tell us and walked out onto the street standing by the door, we decided to leave. Went to TimeOut, got the most delicious Aperol made by a bartender that doesn't tell me something is expensive (what makes you think I can't afford something?) and had a great night. Won't ever come back here again. ZERO stars. What a shame.

It doesn't feel friendly at all. Are we just lucky to be here? I'm just one guy..And, why is Connor being treated like he's the only one who is able to work? But, not for me to check into, maybe the owner will.

Consistently short pours on cocktailsYesterday May 18th I watched myself get lowball poured twice I thought to myself, is this a lowball pour? See below ratings for confirmationI watched the bartender sling out cocktails nowhere even close to being filled to the brim. Why?! Why wouldn't you try to fill the glass up as much as you could??!!They also serve disgusting hotdogs behind the bar on one of those rotating machines you see at gas stations. They try to upsell them and paint them as fancier than they are. Its just gross.

My friend went here after a baseball game. I feel it's important to note it was the Astros and as usual the beat the Red Sox... anyways... the cocktails were great. They even added three garnish cherries with my bourbon as opposed to the usual one or two. Unfortunately they were out of their signature wagyu hotdog. I feel bad only giving two stars, but we were so excited for the wagyu dog and it just seems silly to be out of a signature item... service was great!

Great atmosphere. Go on Wednesday or Thursday to see Drake. He's an awesome bartender that provides exquisite service

Ambiance was on point for a Wednesday night. Sid, the bartender, was very informative and made a delicious drink

We tried to go here Friday night and we waited to be served for a solid 15/20 minutes and nothing. We ended up just leaving. For a specialty cocktail bar, you need more than one person behind the bar. This place has so much potential, but overall, wouldn't return after not even being offered a "hello, I'll be right with you" from the bartender. There was no music playing, lights were way too bright for a cocktail lounge. Needs a revamp.
