After seeing all of the TikToks circulating on my FYP and on my Beli feed, I knew that I had to try out FOB Sushi Bar when I visited Seattle, and I'm glad that I did. I think I'm generally pretty particular about the sushi that I eat, and I LOVED FOB. Part of the appeal was definitely the concept of FOB (almost like a buffet; you choose the pieces that you want, and you pay by the pound); I love trying a variety of things, rather than getting more of one thing, and I love sushi, so this was the perfect restaurant for me LMFAO. FOB has a good variety of types of sushi as well, ranging from nigiris to rolls, and there were both raw/cooked fish options as well. If you go during rush hour, it's likely that you won't find much seating indoors, but there's plenty of people who take their boxes and sit on the stairs outside the restaurant to enjoy. Line generally goes by pretty fast as well.

Fast, easy, variety, delicious. This was the perfect stop for a quick to-go lunch. There were 3 of us and we could each get what we wanted, 1 or 2 of this or that. And a good variety of options, different ingredients & sushi & sashimi items. Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomach as we ended up saving some for later. We got the just as it opened and the was already a line, and it stayed clnstant, but moves. There were a few seats at a counter, i wouldn't considerit a "sit-down" though..

We love FOB sushi! We love the concept (pay-by-the-weight) since you can pick whatever sushi you want and there are many options. The service was very quick since it is a self-serve sushi place. In the line. You grab a box and put all the sushi you want. Then, you go pay for the weight of the sushi at the end of the line. One caveat is that they don't have a lot of seating so you would need to wait for a table or eat outside during lunch hours.

Updating to 4 stars due to some inconsistency my last few visits. Some days are definitely better than others but some of the sushi has been tasting a little too fishy. I think the best times to go would be lunch and dinner rush when they're constantly bringing out fresh plates.

Wow, I'm so glad I decided to have my last dinner at this place. My manager and I originally were supposed to get omakase but she got sick so I canceled our reservations. Feeling disappointed, I still wanted my fix of sushi and looked for a take out type place that was unique and something I couldn't get in NYC. Without fail I found FOB sushi bar!! It was highly rated of course on Yelp but also on social media so I knew I had to try it. There was like a 10-15 min wait to get inside but it got through quickly. You are able to pick up drinks, the size of your box, and from multiple types of sushi till your hearts content. The pieces are HUGE (seasoned rice snd fish portions alike). I ended up needing to save some pieces for later after I over indulged a bit but wow, it was so worth it! The staff were also giving great energy and super friendly while being on top of adding more food to the buffet style bar. I highly recommend!!!

I recently opted for takeout from FOB Sushi Bar and was thoroughly impressed by the extensive variety of sushi available. The buffet-style setup allows you to pick individual pieces, making it perfect for those who love to sample different flavors without committing to full rolls. Every sushi piece I tried was fresh and delicious, showcasing the quality and care put into their offerings. While the selection and taste are top-notch, be prepared for a bit of a wait, especially during peak hours. The limited number of tables means that dine-in options are scarce, so takeout is definitely the way to go if you want to enjoy their fantastic sushi without the hassle. Despite the wait times, the staff remained friendly and helpful throughout the process, ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience.Overall, FOB Sushi Bar is a great choice for sushi enthusiasts looking for variety and quality. Whether you're grabbing a quick meal to go or planning to enjoy some of their outside seating, you'll find that FOB Sushi Bar delivers on both taste and service. Highly recommended for a satisfying sushi experience!

Great concept! Wish my city and every city had this instead of Subway/Cava/Chipotle. Plenty of variety when it comes to the rolls. Everything tasted great! Line moved quick and the boxes were convenient and presentable to take out. Small spot but adds to the charm. Don't forget the condiments area to the left.Highly recommended if you're around the area! They definitely need more locations!

Food was amazing! You get to taste different kinds of sushi without getting an entire roll. Very reasonably priced! You pick the size of your box, get your personal tongs to pick up the sushi you like. Price is per pound. Condiments are in the side. The place is small and gets crowded so be prepared to sit outside if any seating is left. It was a none issue during our visit since it was a nice overcast fall day! I would recommend this place in a heart beat

FOB sushi bar is the best thing to hit Belltown/downtown Seattle. Sushi by the pound at $15/pound is unheard of, and their variety and freshness is not to be beat. The staff are always working their hardest to make new rolls and nigiri and swapping the plates. There's always a large variety of nigiri, creative rolls, and inari sushi. It's a cafeteria line sort of setup, where you grab a container and then use the tongs to pick out whichever pieces of sushi you want. At the end, you weigh your plate and pay before going to get soy sauce, ginger, wasabi and other sides. There is a small dining area in the restaurant and a table outside, but it's generally quite busy and could be difficult to find a spot to sit. Takeout might be your best option. It's so absolutely worth it though. Every piece is so yummy and you can try such a large variety to figure out what types of sushi you like best. I literally visit FOB everytime I go downtown!!
