Flying Fish Sushi Bar & Grill

My boyfriend and I eat there for the first time.. The foods is delicious and the service is great.. I would come back again

Visited a 2nd time during the week for lunch. No wait and server was very attentive. Got the chirashi bowl again and this time it was soo much better. I didn't get any fish that was tough to chew and no fish scale. Got the miso soup as well. Place was clean and music wasn't loud.

The service here is always friendly and timely. It's small, but there's usually an open table and places at the sushi bar. It's in a strip mall and it feels like it, but it's clean and comfortable. Our kids love the kid menu, which includes chicken teriyaki and gyoza. There are so many sushi rolls to try, and we've loved all of them so far.

This place is SO underrated!! First, the fish is soo fresh! Chirashi bowl had a great portion size, the salmon hand roll had soo much sashimi inside I was shocked! And for only $7.50. The soft shell crab was also good. Service was awesome, welcoming and fast, and the sushi chefs were amazing. We will definitely be back again to try more! One of the most freshest sashimi I've had in Tacoma for a good price. The restaurant is also very clean and cute

Stopped in here because the place across the street that we wanted to try was closed because they were on vacation. My first impression upon entering is that the place smelled way to heavily of dead fish. I know its a sushi bar but the only fresh fish that should smell fishy is halibut. We opted out of any sushi and instead got teriyaki chicken meals. We were impressed with their salad dressing but that's about it. Their teriyaki sauce was lacking in flavor and the egg rolls tasted like the frozen ones you buy from Costco. I doubt we'll be back to this establishment but if you're in the area and looking for Japanese food, give them a try and see if you have the same experience.

Ordered chik katsu for my son and I had seared salmon nigiri, hamachi nigiri and the west coast roll. Everything tasted really good and the portion for the katsu was decent, my son was so hungry he almost ate the whole portion! While we were here there were so many to go orders! The service was quick and the staff were really nice and ended our meal with ferrero rochers :)

Extreme good service . Value of food portions is reasonable and generous. Food is very tasty.

Saw all the wonderful reviews on here about the chirashi zushi and decided to get that. It was excellent. Generous portions of very fresh quality fish. Service was excellent. On a whim we tried the deep fried twinkies. It was great. There is an exhaustive selection of fine sakes. Unfortunately we got the house sake. It was a little too sweet for me although others loved it.

Came back again for their Chirashi bowl for lunch on a weekday! Still loving it! It was fairly slow for lunchtime so we were seated and served pretty much right away. Served us with a bowl of complimentary miso soup on this kind of cold weather warms up your belly! It's decent, not too salty not too diluted.The Chirashi bowl has the same amount of sashimi slices, good quality for the price and decently thick cut. Rice is slightly seasoned with vinegar to complement the freshness of seafood.
