Poor service. Sat for 20 minutes with not a single person acknowledging us. It was Mother's Day and we came before the dinner rush and there were only 5 other tables in the whole restaurant occupied. Staff was all annoyed we even asked about getting our order taken.

We arrived at our camp spot at Deception Pass and decided to run into Oak Harbor for a bite to eat. Our goal was to go to a brewery we went to last year... it was closed, I mean out of business. We found Flyers. It was a Friday night and the parking lot was packed (must be a good place). There was a small line, but did get seated right away. Our server was VERY attentive and friendly. We grabbed a couple of their beers, which were very good. My wife ordered the Mustang-she enjoys pulled pork and I ordered the Meteor. You did have to order the sides separately, so we did the garlic fries and sweet potato fries. Warning, the sides are big, so suggest sharing. All in all a great little place and will come back again

Pretty great place especially when they have live music! Full bar and the best bartender EVER...Nicole!! She's not only skilled and knowledgeable, but she can handle a crowd with ease!! She's friendly and makes ordering drinks a good experience! On the other hand, Jamie (the manager) is a completely different story. She's extremely rude, never smiles, always seems to be bothered and annoyed and we avoid her at all costs. I've left several messages with her for the owner to call me...she was even unpleasant on the phone!!All in all, a great place to get together, just be sure to avoid Jamie!

This was recommended for me to try out and checked the boxes for me with good beer and good tasting food for the most part. Ambiance was fun but service was so-so. I could tell this small town brewery was an homage to the local naval air station but was rather slow, probably due to the fact it was a Monday at dinner time in a pub. Spent about $30 for a sandwich, side of fries and a Happy Hour beer.

I enjoy dining at the Oak Harbor Flyer's Restaurant and I decided to stop in for lunch.I ordered the Hurricane Chicken burger with a side of fries. (Quick note: the sandwiches are all ala carte, you have to order fries separately if you want them.) For my drink I ordered my favorite non-alcoholic drink, an Arnold Palmer. The Hurricane sandwich is a juicy chicken "patty" with lettuce, a slice of Swiss cheese and a slice of pineapple. It is served with pickles, onion, and tomato on the side for you to add if you want.Flyer's offers different types of fries. The ones I can remember are straight-cut, waffle-cut, and Seattle fries (fries covered in garlic and parmesan cheese). I opted for simple straight-cut fries.I was very happy with my lunch and decided I would do something that I don't normally do and order dessert. My choices today were chocolate cake or peanut butter cake. I chose the chocolate. It was moist and chocolaty and delicious. But... it was HUGE!! I am posting a photo of it. The "slice" is on a full-sized plate with a tablespoon next to it and a dinner fork off to the side for scale.

We sat outside because we had a dog with us. Service was great and we were not forgotten even though we sat outside. Waitress even got our dog fresh water! We were slightly bummed the fries did not come with the burgers, but the it does come with a bit as a side order and definitely shareable. The Mango jalapeño margarita was delicious. My boyfriend liked their house beers, and like their blonde ale the best. I got the wings with original buffalo sauce and it could have been spicer, but the wings are definitely jumbo.

4/21/'24About 2.5 year ago I approached Jason, the manger/owner of FLYERS and asked if he would carry in his restaurant my three books I've written about helicopter flying I offered to sell them to him at a wholesale price, so that he could make a few bucks on each one, too. He said, "No, I will pay you the full price when I sell them." I liked that, so I left three each of my three books in plastic display racks.About a year later, I passed through and saw that there were only two of my books left, so I asked Jason about this. He handed me a single $20 bill. When I asked him about the rest of the books, he said they were stored in a safe place to protect them from theft. I accepted that for now.About 6 months later, I again visited the restaurant, and I asked the beautiful young black woman receptionist at the entry if she would please to find the rest of my books so that I could take them away. She couldn't find them anywhere. I took the two remaining books and left. I wrote a letter to Jason asking him to return my remaining 6 books, and that I would pay the postage for their return. I offered to take the wholesale price so that he could make a few dollars, too. He never responded. After reading some of the 1 star reviews and having this experience with Jason basically stealing my six books, I will NEVER, EVER patronize this restaurant, I don't care how good the food might be.
