Five Star Bar

Located near Ashland and Chicago Avenue, this bar has a special Elvis pop up. I love the Elvis music. The specialty fried peanut butter raspberry sandwich with fries for $15 sounded interesting. The fried pickles were priced at $9. There was an Elvis book, a guitar, a Love Me Tender sign, and southwest motif as decorations.

The pizza and cheese bread was so good! I'm from Detroit and loved the Detroit style pizza. Service was also prompt and we loved the big room in back for our large group of friends who met up in Chicago from all over the US!

The pizza was like a flavorful masterpiece, with the perfect combination of crispy edges, cheesy goodness, and that signature Detroit-style pan crust. And those lemon pepper wings? Let's just say they were a flavor explosion that left my taste buds in awe. Tangy, zesty, and just the right amount of kick - they had me reaching for more even before I finished the first bite. Needless to say, Five Star Bar has earned its name. The fantastic food, the engaging manager, and the overall welcoming atmosphere make it a place I'm already planning to revisit whenever I'm in the neighborhood. So, if you're in the mood for a taste experience that hits all the right notes, head to Five Star Bar for a slice of pizza paradise. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Ambiance: cozy but also trendy interior - the furniture and finishing are really interesting - the wood paneling on the walls by the booths reach up to the light fixtures in the ceiling and it's a really cool look. Also really funky chairs for the high tops. Surprisingly cool design for what feels like a very chill bar. Food: we ordered the Brussel sprouts salad and the sausage and giardinera pizza. Salad was awesome - super thinly sliced brussels, tons of toppings - best topping to salad ratio I've had in a while and generous with the dressing as well. Fair warning, it didn't feel like the healthiest salad but I'm 100% ok with that. The deep dish pizza was great - sausage and giardinera is a match made in heaven - it always is. Good amount of sauce - I feel like most Detroit style I've had has the sauce on top but there is in fact sauce under the cheese - really cheesy and super crispy crust. All in all - the flavors and textures were on point but I think between the oily giardinera and the tons of cheese it ends up being a really greasy bite - so be warned. Service: was pretty good but was hard to flag down our server at the end of the night to get a box - she also asked us to pay when we paid online already - it wasn't a big deal at all but just surprising that these small hiccups happened bc it wasn't super busy

Cool space with some games in the back and fun booths for big groups. We stopped in over Halloween Weekend and I'm not really sure why it wasn't busier! There were places nearby with super long lines, but that made this experience all the more better because we didn't have to wait to get in on a cold night. The drinks were a little more expensive than you'd hope, but they tasted good. The service wasn't great. We had to stand at the bar for a while and then it took quite some time to get our bill when we were done, but it was great to be indoors in a cool little space like this one and everybody was pretty nice. Great little strip for going out and we had a nice time!

Chill Bar with Games and good food! However, the fees are insane. Why not increase prices instead of having the customer feel guilty about the staff fee.

This place was always around the corner from my apartment and I always wanted to come in but never had the time with my busy work/life schedule but today Stoped in after my fiancé left me at the altar so and Oder the a drink called a screwdriver and a sip of it and loved it so I ordered a lot more and let's just say I woke up the next morning not knowing where I was or who I was but never the less fun time and great atmosphere from what I can remember will definitely come back

Second time here. First time geiing fiid. Much better than expected. Wish i atet here last time!! Jalapeño poppers and Tavern pizza was fire!! Good cocktails with great service. Skee ball in the back too!!! Definitely coming back with friends.

Awful service from the staff try to finesse my check bartending was rude and wrote their own tip on my check which is illegal

Well Five Star Bar did not live up to its name this time. Stopped in for a bit to eat, and waiting absolutely forever for a server. Then even with a server, had to flag him down to order. Food was nothing extravagant for the wait.
