First and Ivy Market

the market itself is great. pretty wide selection on most things. but it's no longer a deli. when i lived in bankers hill back in 2021 their deli had a wide variety of hot and cold sandwiches as well as many other things. just moved back into town after 2 years and the deli lights are always off. all i've ever seen is basic pre packaged ham and cheese type sandwiches in the fridges. decided to try one anyway but it was covered in mold spores. still gonna frequent the market for anything but food. wouldn't recommend eating here since the deli closed.

I'm so glad I stumbled upon First and Ivy! This is a must-visit for sandwich lovers. The menu is simple yet inventive, with creative combinations that made for a delicious sandwich. I tried the planeview sandwich, and each bite more delicious than the last. The bread was fresh and perfectly toasted, and the portion was generous to say the least.The shop itself was clean and the service was top-notch, with friendly staff! Can't wait to get another sandwich!!

THE best sandwich i've ever had. the lady behind the deli car was super sweet and made great convo with me as i ordered. will b going back soon! i got the american club on sourdough with no red onion. ah mazing.

I'm back to share another awesome food experience at one of my new favorite spots. Today i ordered the Chicken Parmesan sandwich and it's truly one of the best I've had in a really long time. The flavor and texture of the sandwich was perfect. Whether you like cold or hot sandwiches, you will not be disappointed with this hidden gem. Run don't walk and place your order. Awesome

I rarely post reviews, but this place deserves a review. I work near here 1-4 times a month and this shop is what I look forward to. Their sandwiches are phenomenal and I'm not even a sandwich person. Restaurant level craft sandwiches made to order. Christina will make you a sandwich that I guarantee you will be back. My go to is the Flying Low. Peppercinis and Italian meats. Perfection. I would post a picture, but I already dominated it.

Been a regular for some time. Hands down the best sandwiches I have ever gotten. The Bodega burger is a favorite, as well as the Philly. To be honest, you can't go wrong with any choice off the menu. The service is always great with good conversation. Top tier family run bodega, excited to go again soon!

First and Ivy is a wonderful neighborhood liquor & convenience store located in Banker's Hill. They carry a great variety of liquor, drinks, grocery items, and more! The deli carries amazing handcrafted sandwiches that you must try. My partner likes to keep it simple with the "BLAT", but I enjoy switching it up to try all cold and hot sandwiches, like the "Cityscape" or the "Runaway". We are never disappointed with our food, ever! The sandwiches are packed with meat and high quality ingredients, and are made fresh to order (Don't forget to ask for their house made ranch dressing -- you won't regret it.)The variety the store offers and the friendly service from the family that runs the store is the reason we keep coming back. It's nearly impossible to find anything wrong with this place. Thank you First & Ivy!

Okay it's a deli so don't expect Mr. A''s! Their food isDelicious! I highly recommend the Bodega Burger. Unreal. I am not a cold sandwich fan , so you are on your own on that order. But, their coke sandwiches look tasty.They have some unique items. This isn't just a club sandwich, turkey sandwich type place. Christina the owner is extremely nice and she makes sure to send the food out with pride. I have never received a wrong order or had to wait longer that she told me to. Also, their mozzarella sticks are fantastic! My friend swears they are the best in San Diego, The guys in the store are nice and friendly too!

I was very hungry and stumbled upon this little place and let me tell you it has the best grilled cheese ever! It's fresh, hot and taste amazing. The people are so nice and welcoming and they also have a different variety of sandwiches and burgers but everything is cooked fresh and add a pretty reasonable price. Overall, this place is amazing and delicious!

Came here for the first time and the cashier was SO professional I had to write a review. I let him know there was mold on a product and figured he'd check it out later but he immediately went to check it out with me and instead of making me feel Kareny for bringing it up, he was like yea, that should definitely not be there, and then when I mentioned there were more like that, he went to get all of the bad ones lol.Then he told me about where he buys them from and that he will need to request that they stop selling them here, or change their loose packaging.I asked if he was the owner or manager since no one usually cares so deeply, and he was the owner's son. Such a cool experience, and a laidback guy.This place is WAY more than a liquor store by the way. They have a whole deli with sandwiches and shit. I will have to come out here if I'm ever hungry in Downtown again!
