Fireside Restaurant

This restaurant is a bit far for us, but sssooo worth the drive! Yet another favorite of ours! So much, in fact, the server, Naomi, recognized us right away... EVEN just serving one time, last time!!!We've had different dishes each time, but that banana cake is guaranteed a constant! It's sssooo flavorful! He absolutely loved his burger & tater tots! My 12 in pizza could have used more seasonings, but it was yummy! I purposely ordered a larger one, so I'd have leftovers for lunch the next day.

I have been to Fireside several times and have always had decent service. I like they have kids meals and it makes for a decent family meal when we visit my dad who lives nearby. This last visit (6.9.24) was the worst and probably the last. I want to point out that we made the mistake of trying to eat out during Sommarfest on a Saturday, but we were desperate to feed the kids while visiting my dad. We try not to travel too far out of the area for my dad's sake, and we weren't about to head into the fest.We walked in around 7:30 and the hostess told us that the kitchen was backed up, the bar area was full, and the wait was at least 20 minutes. We said ok, we can wait. We took a walk and at 7:50pm returned. We were told that the kitchen was still backed up on food orders, ad the hostess walked off to discuss with the manager on the wait. Rather than speaking to us herself, the manager on shift talked to the hostess right in front of us and then ran off again. The hostess explained she could seat us but only give us drinks for now. Ok Fine. We were seated on the patio with drink menus and some kids menus for the kids. so far so good. After a few minutes the hostess returned with food menus and the said the kitchen was catching up and open again. However, we had still not been greeted by a server and had no drinks. After 20 minutes, still no server, no drinks, and no apologies. We began packing up to leave and that's when the server showed up. By then it was a little too late. Again, I understand it was busy. Maybe they were short staffed. i don't know. but SOMEONE could have popped over to see if we needed anything. Multiple employees walked past us without so much as a glance. Honestly it seemed disorganized and chaotic. I don't want to end this with a bad note, clearly something was amiss, but I'd rather be told they weren't seating anyone as opposed to leading me on and wasting my family's time.

Haven't been to Fireside in years, and not to my surprise, the food and service was great!Was out with Mom and was in the area so we took a chance on it not being crowded being Mother's Day .... We picked the right time frame, cause as we were about to leave it was getting full !The food we had was great from start to finish !

This place was great. The service was outstanding and the outdoor area in the back was just cool and inviting. They went out of their way to get our game in the tv! Got the club sandwich and I couldn't have asked for a better one. Fry's were good and good beer selection. Prices were fair and I can't ask for more. I'll def be back!

Went for a very late dinner since the kitchen was open late! Had the fireside burger and the baby bank shrimp. Both amazing but the burger was out of this world. I did substitute the cheese with blue cheese and glad I did!Then back patio is super nice and the severs very helpful. Loved that they didn't overwhelm us with questions.

My wife and I went to this establishment for a date night and had a good time. Service was amazing and professional. We sat outside on the terrace near the street and that was cool it had a European cafe feel to it. And the food was really good I had a quesadilla and my wife had a pasta dish that was delicious. We both had a cocktail that was more cock than tail seriously though we had a good time and plan on returning to this great restaurant.

This place has been here forever yet I had forgotten about it until hubby and I were thinking of where to go for date night. It's on Ravenswood in a historic building with a small parking lot and ample street parking. You have your choice of the dining room, bar/room or patio when the weather's nice. They have a large menu with lots of good choices. We chose the patio and enjoyed excellent service from Caleb. We had good drinks and bang bang shrimp, followed by the quesadillas and blackened chicken pasta. Food was excellent and we didn't feel rushed on this beautiful night. They're open super late too, which is a plus. We'll be back soon!

Loved the neighborhood vibes of this quaint bar near Rosehill cemetery. We visited Fireside recently for a Halloween event and had a good time. We ordered cocktails from their Halloween menu and had the Expresso yourself drink. Strong coffee flavor with a punch of vodka. We enjoyed it. We ordered their bar food and the chicken tenders with fries were pretty tasty! I would definitely order them again if we're back.It was a busy night, but our server checked in on us when she could. We were not in a hurry and luckily secured a table thanks to the husband snagging a pair of seats before the crowd arrived. From the front entrance, it looks small but it's actually long and there's extra seating past the bar in the back patio. It's enclosed and could probably seat another 50-75 people. They are a year-round operation so come in and visit anytime. Enjoy their tasty food, drink and welcoming local vibe.

We held a ~50-person event at Fireside. One attendee said it was the best buffet they'd ever had. We opted for mini-sliders, coconut shrimp, chicken quesadillas with guac and other sauces, chopped fruit, and mini crab cakes. Quite good. Servers kept up with refilling the water etc. as well as they could. Nice large, bright patio with 10 or so tables is 75 degrees even when it's snowing outside. Great place I'll return to. Tip: skip the overhyped fried ribs. They're not very meaty. The crab cakes and everything else listed are good.

If I would have wrote this review a year ago,It would have been 3-stars but the food has gotten better but the lack of staff is still and issue that clearly hasn't been real solved.I came in for a quick lunch and got the spinach salad without onions and a side of sweet potato totes. The Totes were fantastic, soft on the inside but with a little crisp on the outside. The salad was also very fresh and flavorful, with mushrooms were quite unique but, I am glad I asked for the vignette dressing on the side because it was a lot of dressing that was a bit tart. They are clearly short staffed with 1 women covering the entire bar area. So, I ended up waiting way too long for my check - about 10 to 15 minutes to be exact.
