This review is for the afternoon tea service. They often offer this as a Groupon deal, which comes at a great price and includes a glass of prosecco. Upon arrival, the young hostess was unable to find our reservation and basically froze not knowing what to do, even though we had made a reservation over the phone with a credit card, although her coworker was able to figure things out quickly and get us a table. That same hostess I asked for a drink menu when seated, but she never came back, so she really was no help at all.Our server was friendly, but rather slow at times, because she seemed to be the only server they had. For exp we asked for honey and sugar for our tea (something they brought with the tea the first time we went), and had to wait forever until the point our tea was no longer even hot. All that aside, the tea and food were great. Sandwich bites included duck, egg salad, smoked salmon, chicken salad and cucumber. Several different desserts such as eclaires, macaroons, and buscuits. You also got a tray of jelly, whipped cream and lemon curd. It was filling and we even had food leftover to take home. Great all around tea service and despite the hiccups, we will return.

Great service from Mark at the bar. The Steak Frites and Pork Belly were very good. I also really enjoyed the Jalapeño Business mocktail.

I was in desperate need for warmth and food and this was the nearest to me. I was legit about to lose one of my testicles of how cold I was. Being from cali yo boy ain't use to this type of weather. Anyways, found this restaurant near by while my cousins were doing some blade of glory action at the ice rink. I decided to check it out and have a drink. The chips were fire legit were homemade chips so definitely recommend that. As for the soup it was aight nothing wild. I'm glad the servers helped me out real quick and were friendly considering that I probably looked homeless and this close to catching hypothermia. I will have to come back if I ever do to give it a rating but yea good vibes in there. Nice bar with their house hazy being some good stuff. My dank review for this place 6.2/10

FireLake is one of those places that is hiding a bit in plain sight. It's in an area of Chicago called The New Eastside or River East. It's literally steps from Michigan Avenue, Millennium Park and the Chicago River, but you won't know it we there unless you walked right by it. It doesn't help that it's inside the Aqua Blu Raddison hotel. However, it's worth making a point to find it and eat here.I ate dinner there recently, and I enjoyed my experience. First, the food was very good. I ordered the pork belly, hog Mac n cheese, flat iron streak frites and the chocolate cake. I enjoy all of the food, but I especially liked the flat iron streak frites. It was cooked perfectly to my liking, medium rare, and had a great steak flavor. I also liked the pork belly a lot. The chocolate cake was nothing like I expected, but it was great. Rather a cake, it was really a chocolate mousse. This was a pleasant surprise. Second, I enjoyed the atmosphere. Although the food was high end, the atmosphere was laid back. It wasn't noisy at all, and I appreciated the TVs showing sports. Third, and lastly, the service was fast and friendly. In sum, this place is totally worth the short walk from Michigan Ave or Millennium Park.

Stopped in for warmth out of a perfect snowfall on a Saturday. The restaurant is upscale, dim-lit, and intimate. The dim lights create a lounge aesthetic I really adore. Perfect for date nights, business meetings, and memorable moments. Sat in this cute corner towards the rear, appropriate for our day date. The server was really nice, explained the menu well. He was very knowledgeable about the wines and cocktails. I ordered an Old Fashioned and their seasonal fennel apple soup (December). I loved the fennel tones but the apple was very strong. It overpowered my palette and made the dish too sweet. If I return, I think I would just order drinks and small appetizers. I would return for business more so than pleasure.

We were staying across the street and wanted a nearby place. The service was exemplary. The hostess let us walk in from the street so my friend didn't need to use the stairs. The drinks and food were outstanding. A highlight was the 2 pound pretzel (pictured). Our server Astrit accommodated our every request. What started as a dinner of convenience turned into a dinner to remember. Thanks Firelake!

Excellent service complemented by musical atmosphere, but the food was poor. Ordered the mezzes plate, which was nicely presented, but the epitome of bland. Htipiti was terrible. If you've ever been to a restaurant where the chef thinks guacamole can be made by crushing avocados,--adding nothing else--you know what I mean. Chef here needs to take a few lessons from the many excellent Mediterranean restaurants in Andersonville. Go to drink if you like atmosphere, but beware of the food.
