I went to finjan back in February this year and forgot to review it! I tried it for the first time with my friend and we loved it- the customer service was great, really nice people, and the drinks were delicious! We also got a dish of knafeh. I have never had knafeh up til this point, i've only seen internet videos of the dessert. It was deliciousss- sweet, crunchy, and a tiny bit salty from the cheese. I'm definitely craving it now that i'm writing about it. The only minir critique I have is that i thought the knafeh was a tad too sweet, but overall i would definitely eat it again. I appreciate that it's made to order too!! The baklava was delicious too, but i think the knafeh was the star As for drinks, we got a chai latte, orange vanilla latte, and a juice drink seltzer thing that i forgot the name of. The chai was genuinely one of the best chais I've had which idk if that's saying much bc I've only ever tried 2 other cafés's chais, but still, i would definitely order again. The chai latte was full of spice and flavor, but not too sweet unlike starbucks . The orange vanilla latte was pretty cozy and yummy too. I think the barista said the chai was still a work in progress at the time, but it tasted perfect to us!Ambiance: There was a good amount of people in there when we were there but most of the patrons were doing laptop work or studying since this is near Mesa college. So it was busy, yet quiet. Overall, it's been awhile since i've been there since I don't live super close to it, but i'm feeling like its time to visit again! Looking forward to try something new like seasonal drinks or maybe another chai latte.

Although a bit outside the golden triangle of Kearny Mesa, Finjan is definitely worth the trip. Its exterior--set in a nondescript beige shopping center set along a very busy Clairmont Mesa avenue--belies what is inside: a small but handsome cafe, light and airy. Arabic calligraphy in a cheerful light blue wraps around the service counter. The same writing decorates their unique espresso cups (Finjan is Arabic for coffee cup). It is a great space.Better still are the coffee offerings: they do superlative espresso drinks (often a bit stronger than what you get elsewhere) and make use of local roasting fave, James Roasting. They also offer Turkish coffees in the traditional way--something I only drink on occasion. They also offer a number of drinks more modern and to SoCal tastes, including various cold brews and sparkling espressos. Moreover, while limited, they offer cafe eats both traditional and modern. They offer an excellent baklava, some of the best I've had in SD. Knafeh is also on the menu, although I have not (yet!) tried it. Various "toasts" are on the menu, including crossovers like labneh and fava bean.My only real complaint is location. This is very much a destination spot. Although the owners also have a Middle Eastern restaurant next door, there is not much around here to draw one naturally to Finjan. A second location in perhaps Little Italy or North County coastal or even Kearny Mesa proper would be most welcome. Even so, if you are anywhere nearby, it's a must go.Bil izn.

I really wish you guys would open a second location downtown!! This coffee shop is by far my favorite small business coffee shop in SD. Their branding is on point. Their staff are extremely friendly, and most importantly.. THE COFFEE + FOOD and the variety. Loved the presentation of my coffee in a tall glass, these details matter!PLEASE EXPAND!

My second time here and I got the Vanilla Bean Latte. It was so good!! Not overly sweet and not bitter from the espresso. There was a nice creaminess to it and the taste went down smooth. Slightly small shop, around 6 tables inside and a couple outdoor seats. They have food options and baklava as well. The ice is so cute and definitely adds to the aesthetic of the drink. I would come here again for their latte!

I have always wanted to try the Turkish coffee and my friend recommended this place. Friendly service. Indoor and outdoor seating area. Everything I had was delicious. The pistachio baklava sweet tastey crunchy treat with my Turkish coffee. I also had a blueberry refresher. My friend had an iced coffee and labne toast, which we split! I highly recommend the toast. Actually everything I had I would recommend but the toast a must.

First time trying Turkish coffee and it was great! The staff was very kind and helped me with what to expect and what I should order. The pistachio baklava was the perfect pairing with it (although a little pricy at $4 for a small bite). It's cool seeing them make it too. Cute little cafe!

Finjan is a really neat coffee shop. They have seating both indoor and outdoor. Parking is plentiful in the private small parking lot. It was nice that they offered food as well. The latte I got came with two espresso shots, which was nice and strong. I can see myself coming back. I really enjoyed my honey cinnamon latte with oat milk and the labne toast!

Every time I'm in the area, this is my coffee go to! The coffee is strong and the flavors are always JUST RIGHT! I would also like to add that they use sphere ice cubes so my drink stays cold longer :)There is a lot of seating in this vibey little coffee shop, so there have always been a few people doing work when I have popped in. It doesn't take away to the restaurant's atmosphere, it actually proves how great it is being there hehe 10/10 coffee, 10/10 vibes :)

A really nice, fairly new coffee shop in Kearny Mesa. It's right next door to the restaurant Tahini, and I believe it's owned by the same people. The vanilla bean latte and Arab cold brew are both really tasty. The cinnamon and mint are great additions to the Arab cold brew that elevate it a bit. The blueberry mint refresher is pretty nice too, almost like a mocktail. The avocado toast isn't bad, but I always feel like avocado toast that's over $9 needs meat or something extra to justify the price. It was presented well and was fresh, but I'm not sure I'd order it again. The interior is pretty cool, and the seating is nice. There are plenty of high stools at a bar, and there are also numerous booths and a few tables outside. The staff is friendly, and the shop is very cleanly. It's definitely worth checking out, and is one of the better coffee shops in this part of Kearny Mesa.

The coffees were amazing. Very tasty although the pistachio latte was not sweet. Cappuccino was tasty. Their cups are very nice! Love the touch of Arabic on the cups and the wall!! They also have tea pots you can order instead of one cup of tea. So many items on the menu to try!Overall great drinks but food was meh The avocado toast had great toppings but the bread was extremely hard almost stale. We came back a second time just for knafeh but they were near closing time. So the cashier rushed us and did not cook the knafeh well. It was not sweet and undercooked and flavorless. We were really looking forward to it before but were disappointed.
