Finger Lickin Fried Thingzz

Excellent new shop opened this week in the former Empanada Factory space on S. Main St. This is the 2nd area shop for this concept; the original on Bragg Street in Raleigh. It's a simple menu - they have fried wings, shrimp and fish. And that's it! Platters served with fries, coleslaw and white bread. Your choice of 1, 2 or 3 meats. Everything is fresh outta the fryer - beautifully crisp and golden brown on the outside, moist, tender and flavorful on the inside. Shrimp is superb - not mushy, with a nice crunch to every one. Full sized wings (none of those flats and drums here), perfectly battered and fried crunchy. Portions are huge - 5 wings and at least 10 shrimp with the 2 meat order. More than I could finish, so the good news is I have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. The word is out. This place is P A C K E D. About 9 tables inside, all full. Takeout business going strong. A must try if soul food is what you crave. DELICIOUS!

Each time I attempt to try them, they are NOT OPEN. Bummer...even though it is during the hours they post to be open. I will update this review when/if I ever get to try them.

The Wake Forest location is definitely better than the Raleigh location.It's so sad that there's no consistency between locations. I feel that because the Raleigh location is in the "hood" they quality of the food is not up to par. I am pleased with the quality and the quantity of food in the WF location. Anything deep fried is normally yummy but this is pretty darn good. My only criticism is that it is over seasoned. Eating it hot no problem but as it sat it became too much for my taste buds. Deep fried and high sodium .... Went this Saturday night, where we waited an hour and a half for over fried shrimp and fish. Many people left before ordering or ended up waiting because the owner would not refund no ones money. Heard 10 people say that they would not be returning. If you notice, there are no bad reviews on their Facebook page. I posted our bad experience twice where both comments disappeared.

Terrible service, food was way overcooked. Waited hour and half ( lots of others did too) . Finally asked for update and miraculously it came out 2 minutes later. So overcooked it was inedible. Others asked for refunds and were denied. And all bad comments on FB are removed to make it look better. Owner was rude to customers and even yelled at an older lady(Mom?) who was running his register. Save your money.

I ordered my food online and arrived to location for pick up, where I still had to wait an additional 30 minutes. I sent my son inside to pick up food where they couldn't find my order, when he finally came outside I opened my tray I was disturbed at how undercooked the chicken was! I returned inside where I was told the chicken "was done" even though the skin was wet and slimy. I was told all chicken was cooked at a set time, lady at register pulled apart my chicken to convince me it was "done" and the inside of chicken was running with chicken juice. She offered to recook chicken at same time of 10/15 minutes, I agreed to recook and it came out much better but still not great. This is not the kind of fried chicken you would expect from a POC business :-/ but if you like wet and soggy chicken this is your go to.

well decided to check out Finger Lickin Fried Thingzz in wake forest since I was seeing so many ads for it. thinking it would be a great experience....When I initially arrived at this location there was a couple and their two daughters inside no one else. no one was at the counter so I began to wait for someone to come out front from the kitchen. 10 minutes now pass I am still waiting to place an order, at this time an older gentleman walked in to wait as well, I told him I'd already been waiting 10 minutes with nothing from them. he pounds on the counter hoping that would alert them they have customers. we wait maybe another 5 minutes that is when I said fuck it and walked behind the counter and pounded on the kitchen door. this is when one of the employees opens the door and looks at us like we were disturbing them and asked what we wanted. I said anyone going to bother taking our order. that is when one of the staff members got off their asses and walked out front to "help" us. I decided to try the three meats fish shrimp and wings since I was here and waited for so long. food took another 10-15 minutes to come out. so at this point, I've already ranked SERVICE at a -5 out of 10. The food was mediocre at best. sure the portion filled the to-go container they serve everyone in only because 90% of it was french fries. The shrimp portion may be 8 pieces, fish 2 pieces overcooked and rubbery. the wings were the only decent thing from the whole meal mainly cause it's hard to screw wings up. for paying almost $30 for a meal you would expect better service and at least decent food. would I recommend this place to anyone.. maybe just the people I hate so they get to deal with the hassle and headache of anyone else I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Wait was perceived to be 1:15 got all the trays in about 45 mins. The food was well seasoned and portions were great. Only reason I give 4 stars is because the fries were trash... they were barely done, tasteless and bland. I'll be back for the meats though.

The wings and fries plate was Fresh and good flavor. The chicken was just a Tad salty for my taste but I would definitely try again just to see if I was bugging.LOL There was a wait for my online order but only a few minutes and not a problem. Next I'll be trying the Raleigh location

The first time we came here, the person said that they did not have our food ready and we ordered at 5:21pm and asked again for our food at 6:22pm and it was not ready. The lady that greeted us was rude and said that we would not have our food for another 15 minutes. They said they do not give refunds. Customer service is horrible. I hope that they get more staff and get better customer service. It is unfortunate that you can take someone's money and not provide food in a reasonable time. People came after us and got food. Number one problems1.) No refunds2.) Bad customer service
