Filippis Pizza Grotto Pacific Beach

We tried items off their new allergy menu (gluten free, non dairy, etc) I had the shrimp fillippi with rice noodles. It's was amazing!My husband and son went for the pastrami pizza and they said it was like eating a pastrami sandwich. My husband loves pastrami sandwiches and he loves it!

Service was slow. Maybe because the waiter was taking care of many tables by himself without help.Food: ordered a prime rib cooked medium. Checkout the picture. It was completely red as if it was taken out of the refrigerator and put on the plate. What save from a 1-star to 3-star was the pizza. We did like "the work" with anchovies and the antipasto salad.Portion is family style and can be shared with 2-3 people.

Ordered through GrubHub for delivery.Pizza was terrible! Dough was very yeasty tasting and pizza was undercooked. Brown on the bottom and cooked on the top, but the middle was cool and soggy. We both didn't finish our slices and threw the entire pizza away.I do NOT recommend this place!

French Dip sand. They also have Prime Rib now at very reasonable $$.Parking in back, clean, multi TV's and friendly staff.

Party of 16 was told we could seat you but won't get service because the kitchen is backed up. ToldThem we would order to go , and eat outside. They told us we could not eat outside with there tables. Been coming here for years and this will be the last Need to be TRAINED on customer service

The owner Robert and his wife (4th generation) are keeping the traditions going. This is a new menu item the white pizza. As a vegetarian it's hard to find pizza options that aren't just a veggie pizza so this changes the game. I love Filippis and always have. This location is my favorite because of the ambiance. If want a meal to make me happy and feel at home this is the spot. Ps we literally ate the white pizza and cannoli so fast that there was no photo evidence left

I have never been asked to leave my credit card or drivers license when ordering at an outside table before and if we weren't so hungry, we would have left before ordering. The hostess was argumentative and nasty and the food was only mediocre!Obviously we aren't going back.

Feels like Umbria. Best torpedo subs in America. I call and order for take away these days, but I did previously enjoy eating-in because of the low-key, authentic atmosphere and lovely service. Good portions of good food.

Very great food and excellent customer service.The manager was very polite and food was delicious.

Normal Crust is very thick, doughy, and heavy. Always order the Thin Crust. Rarely will they follow through with the Thin Crust when ordered. Much better pizza near by. The new menu is very good but skip the pizza.
