It's a bar, it's a nightclub, it's a restaurant. Yes, it is all those things, but we were there for food. Which we ate. Lots. Meat combo, veggie combo, and chicken wings. No complaints really. We tried a meat dish I had never had before, and it was pretty amazingly spiced. Jack does not eat Ethiopian but as you can see, he enjoyed some of yet. He complains about injira but eats sourdough and naan. Jeez. What can you do with a teenager? Not sure, but I am going to eat Ethiopian after a day of schlepping him to B-ball AND he is coming. I would eat here again. And order less. Because two combos are ridiculous. One meat combo is enough for 2-3 people. Hungry people. Come. Eat. Not sure if there is dancing but worth checking out.

I have yet to try low quality Ethiopian food, and Fidel just continues the streak further! The veggie combo is the perfect dish to share with three people and offers the best sampler of the diversity of vegetarian dishes in Ethiopian cuisine. The portions are hefty with a large injera and 2 injeras provided on the side with the order. We also ordered the tea which had a delicate, low-key cinnamon flavor. The venue feels like a bar, restaurant and dance floor all combined in one.I wish this place was closer to Fremont so I could go every week. If you're in the area, this is a great place to try!

The veggie combo was very good. We ordered a chicken dish for $17 which had one drum stick and an egg. You can see the entirety of the lamb. A bunch of bones and injera. No meat on the lamb bones. No one in the restaurant was wearing a mask either, except for my husband .

This was a first time at this place . Average food due to manner it was prepared ,fast verse slow, cooking of lamb makes a huge difference the flavor and consistency. The sauce was good. The beef dish was acceptable ,flavor-fill a d above average .The honey wine was a nice flavor. Caught a friendly driver home and made the night good ending .

The other reviews are right about the weird vibe inside. Can't tell if it's a bar or a club or a restaurant. But the staff was super friendly (although no one was wearing a mask). Picked up and it was an easy process. I had never had Ethiopian food before - I liked it but will need to give it another couple shots before I can't tel if it's for me or not. We got a spicy lamb dish and a veggie combo. If you get the meat dish I suggest also getting a combo plate because otherwise it's just the meat. Amazing flavors and interested to explore the menu more!!!

It's a hidden gem, I could never see inside so I procrastinated coming- so worth doing it! Best veggie platter in the city! It has a dive vibe without being divey. Totally my kind of place.

Love their injera. If you something exotic, try injera with raw meat. It is okay to eat it raw like tartar. It's like eating tuna fish. It serves with knife so that you can adjust the size. Spicy sause that comes with is so good too.

This restaurant got the revamp that it truly needed. Such beautiful upgrade of decor, nice music and delicious food. They have a full bar and friendly staff. The tibs on the clay pot was a show stopper and my new favorite thing on the menu. If you do eat here, you will absolutely crave it again!

To be honest, this is a biased review. The owners are like family to me.This is my favorite Ethiopian restaurant. The food is amazing. I have most of the menu and I love it all. My go-to is the 50/50, a combo of two different entrees of your choice; I usually get Shiro (chickpeas curry/sauce), Gomen Besega (sauteed lamb and kale), which I call the "Taye Special". The food can be mild, but still flavorful. If you like spicy though, you won't be disappointed: ask for awaze (ah-wah-zey), mitmita (meet-meet-ah), or kochekocha (coach-coach-ah).Do yourself a favor and visit.

As a vegetarian I really appreciate this place. Got the veggie combo plate which was a huge portion of almost every vegetable you can think of. So so good. I think this place is pretty underrated
