I've always wanted to go to Federales, but as a suburbanite, it's not always convenient to go downtown, so I was excited to see this location open. We didn't have reservations, but they were able to seat us indoors pretty quickly. The decor inside and outside is impressive. Everything about this spot was awesome! We found parking right outside the restaurant on a Saturday. The food was delicious, the drinks were refreshing, even the music was popping. The seasoned tortillas and salsa were so addicting! My husband thought the music was too loud, but I loved it, lol. I definitely want to go back to try the brunch menu and the lamb quesabirrias.

I met my friend and her child at Federales and at first we weren't sure it was going to be the right place--it seemed like a party place, loud music and whatnot. But they had some spaces further back in the outdoor space and that's where we wanted to sit anyway. And they had booster seats, too, so definitely kid friendly. The salsa is delicious. I wish I could get it just to have at home. It had a little heat and some texture; I think I prefer chunky salsa. I got the taquitos and they were really good. We also got some guacamole, a favorite with the kiddos, and the Brussels sprouts, a favorite with me. (Haha.) Margaritas were great--and they didn't skimp on the alcohol. All the food was great, but it was too pricey for me to probably come back very often.

My lovely wife and I have wandered past Federales before, and it struck us as a fun place to check out one of these days. This location is on Milwaukee and Sacramento, with its corner offering significant space for a lively outdoor patio. Thanks to a can't-beat-that promotion where weekend brunch food items are priced half-off (11AM to 1PM) through August, we stopped in on a warm Saturday to try out Federales Logan Square. We actually made a reservation for noon yesterday, but we were seated immediately though we arrived a few minutes early. We chose to sit indoors next to the cool mural on the wall, as it was quite warm outside. Service was good throughout our meal, starting with ice water and a tasty serving of complimentary chips and salsa. Our friendly server was well aware of the half-off brunch food deal, so there was no need to haggle over promotional pricing. I went "dessert first" and ordered the Flan French Toast, with a generous dollop of whipped cream. It was certainly sweet enough, and it tasted like a yummy combination of desserts - flan, creme brulee, bread pudding. It's definitely a unique spin on French Toast. My love ordered the Chilaquiles with the red salsa on the side, and the salsa was quite zingy so that was a good move for her. She enjoyed a glass of iced coffee as her "dessert" item.

I fully enjoyed dropping by during their 50%-off brunch special this month. Prices are not bad even without the half-off promo. The vibe is very upbeat, and while the brunch menu does not feature too many options, they have a nice selection. Our server could not have been more lovely and attentive. We loved the Chicago-themed mural!I went with the chilaquiles, and, out of caution, I had them put the sauce on the side because I'm a total spice wimp. I did not use much of it, as it is rather spicy to me. But even eating the dish in a non-traditional way, I liked it a lot. We received complimentary chips and salsa. Chips were warm, and the veggies in the salsa were just so great. They tasted fresh and were crisp. Sadly, being the spice wimp I am, I couldn't eat a lot of it, but I sure wanted to because I have never tasted a better complimentary salsa when it comes to the quality of the vegetables. I ordered the iced coffee for "dessert," and it was such a great blend. It's only $3, but it's not a large glass. I thought the price was fair for how great it tasted. The weather at noon when we arrived was pretty warm, and I was a little nervous about it being hot in there, given the open-concept situation. However, there was a nice breeze, and the temp in the space was absolutely comfortable.

The food was pretty good. I was obsessed with the chips and the seasoning on it, the Taquitos were delish, and I thought the Brussels sprouts were really good too. We shared a burrito and I was too full on chips to eat my half but had it the next day and it was very good. We had some good drinks too.Mom POV: I didn't see a changing station anywhere but they did seem very cool with us bringing in our baby and stroller on a Sunday early afternoon.

It's a place for a good time. Loud and fun overall which was great for the sunny day we had. Nice service. Attentive and quick and the payment through QR code makes things so much quicker. The food is ok. I love the chips and salsa they bring in the beginning but I have had multiple items here, and some, such as the Pazole, lack flavor. The tacos were great but you'd expect more flavors from something like the pazole. It looks great though so I give them credit for their presentation.

My boyfriend and I came here and had an amazing time, we ordered about 4 tacos including the octopus (AMAZING) the vegan chorizo, fried cod and vegan carne asada! Although he had been there before we had a blast throwing our ice shot glasses at the bell, but the best part was the churros the Executive Chef dropped by our table after we connected about some really good hot sauce! The EC mentioned they just recently changed the recipe for the churros and BOY WAS A DEED DONE! AMAZING! As this is my first time in the chi...chefs kiss

The atmosphere was great. No seat was a bad spot. Got seated inside and plenty of natural sunlight from their exposed ceiling to go around. The food was delicious. A little on the smaller portion but made me want more.

Unfortunately this restaurant adds a Covid fee on the bill. They call it something else but these random 3% fees are left over from Covid and at this point, are just a way to scam customers. They should not be on the bill. This place isn't cheap so I don't really get it and I hate to take it out of the waitstaff's tip. The food was good although overpriced. The drinks were very good, but were really small. Loved the outdoor seating
