First off, When we walked in we were greeted by the kindest man ever!! He was so happy to be there and went over all the sandos with us. We let him know we were so excited to try it and he gave us a complimentary sando in addition to what we purchased! Which made our day!!!! He totally didn't have to do that. We drove an hour a while back and there was no sandos so this time we pre-ordered our sandos just to make sure! These sandos are an amazing value; super flavorful, and my new #1 craving! Thank you for the delicious recommendations and making our day! The restaurant is inside a market and they have tables you can sit at along with a picture wall. They also tons of other options on the menu that smelled and looked amazing.

Finally made it in for dinner and we were right behind a party of two. The employee took their orders and then said she would be right back to take ours. She popped back a few minutes later and we were now ready to order. We ordered:One Pork Katsu Sando - $13One Fruit and Cream Sando - Kiwi and strawberry - $6 One order of Furikake fries - $4She gave us a number and we sat down at the food court area they have going on. This space is shared with the other restaurant that is there. Waited about 15 minutes and the food slowly started coming out. The fries arrived first and omg let me tell ya.... these fries were the bombbb. They were hot, crispy, and very flavorful. Next came the pork katsu sando and it too was delicious. The pork itself was crispy and cooked well and the sauce and cabbage were a great addition to the sando. The fruit and cream sando was ok but nothing special. The cream wasn't sweet but the fruit was. The bread was also a bit too dry for our liking. Overall the worker was friendly and we had a good experience. The aesthetic is cool and I loved the Fat Boy theme. Will be back!

I really wanted to find a place in the Phoenix area that serves good onigiri. We've had the ones at H-Mart, but they just taste like a lot of rice with not enough filling inside. I came across Fatboy Sandos and was intrigued. This food stall is just on the right when you enter the AZ International Marketplace. In contrast to the bustling H-Mart food hall, the surrounding food hall here was dead. There is a display case that has a few pre-prepared things or you can order off the menu. The lady who took our order was very nice and there is someone in the back who prepares the food. I ordered a spam musubi from the display case and took it to a nearby table to try it while waiting for the shrimp sando that we ordered. The spam musubi is never as good cold; I should have just brought it home to warm it up or order one freshly made. The sando, however, was surprisingly good. The shrimp patty had a crunchy batter around it and was served on pillowy-soft bread.

A friend and I decided to try Fatboy Sandos for dinner on a casual weeknight. Fatboy Sandos is a fast casual restaurant located inside the AZ International Marketplace. Parking is plentiful and the shopping center and market are both very quiet and empty. We ordered the following to share:Japanese Egg Salad sando $13Ebi Katsu sando $14Furikake fries $4Spicy tuna onigiri $7Mango & cream sando $6Strawberry & cream sando $6Both the Japanese Egg Salad and Ebi Katsu (shrimp) sandwiches were tasty and protein-packed. I really enjoyed both, especially the ebi katsu. The bread was fluffy and light. The Furikake fries were exceptional and my personal favorite. The fries were seasoned well and paired perfectly with the optional garlic mayo dipping sauce. The Spicy Tuna Onigiri was my least favorite. I found it to be lacking in tuna and flavor. The fruit and cream sandwiches were a light, refreshing, and slightly sweet treat. We enjoyed our meal at the market, with ample seating available in the food court area. Service was fast and friendly. I look forward to returning for the Ebi Katsu and Furikake fries!

Went on a bit of a mini food adventure today! Made a stop here just to try a few items I've been wanting. I ordered togo since I was splitting with someone. Ordered one egg sando and two masubis. Service was great! The woman at the front was super nice. I initially grabbed the masubis from the refrigerator and she brought me ones that were more fresh and warm. Waited a bit since there was another order before me but it was less than 10 minutes. The sando ($13) was pretty big! Half was good enough for me. It was just okay though. Unfortunately, I felt it needed more seasoning. I could taste mustard in it but it needed something more. I sprinkled on onion and garlic powder, black pepper and a whole lot of sriracha. The masubi ($7) was tasty. Can' really go wrong with that. It just had a bit too much rice. If this was your only meal/snack then it would be perfect but the egg sandwich had already filled me up. Total was like $30 for 3 items! Bit pricy. Glad I gave jt a try though

Fatboy Sandos did not disappoint. All food was fresh. We ordered pork tonkatsu Sando and this was made fresh to order. Came out hot and delicious. The cabbage inside gave it a nice crunch and texture. The spicy tuna onigiri was yummy but it had lot of rice and only little bit of tuna filling. The fatboy onigiri was just like spam misubi with egg on top. This was absolutely delicious, probably my favorite. The fruit Sando was good too. It was perfect as a dessert to end the meal or as a snack. Enjoy! Highly recommend!!

Great small family business. I ordered food and ask for one of the katsu for the sauce to be on the side. However, they accidentally put it on top of the food and was so gracious enough to remake it for my husband. The food was delicious and flavorful. For checking in, they also offered me a free fruit sando. Would definitely recommend.

I just opened my eyes I'm still in Mesa but just for a few minutes I was in any city, prefecture or rural town in Japan. The Sandos we had were delicious, beautiful and filling. Just like Japans. The bread was perfect. Great texture on the Japanese egg salad itself. The Japanese potato salad was equally delicious as were the furikake fries which are seasoned nicely. Try both. Super personable service, the gentleman running the front has great communication skills and presence. Nicely done. The cook (chef) was also doing his job, very nice presentation of all the dishes we ordered, showing some pride and skill...thanks. Check there full menu it's more than just sandwiches. So this shop is inside AZ International Marketplace and the signage is on the weak side. So use your phone to get there.Last words...I'll close my eyes again and again.

I thought the pork katsu sando was okay. While the service was friendly, it's inside of a supermarket and the counter and seating area was clean but bland. Maybe if you already have a connection to the sandwiches and flavors, you'll like it better than I did.

After seeing all the rave reviews, I finally came to the international market to try this. It did not disappoint! The food was amazing ! It was so hard to choose what to get since everything sounded so good. I got the ebi shrimp katsu rice bowl spicy and the strawberry sandwich for dessert. Both were so fantastic! The seasonings and sauces on the bowl were fantastic. The breading on the katsu was perfectly crisp. The strawberry sandwich was made with the most delicious bread, the tastiest cream, and very fresh strawberries. The staff was very friendly, which made the experience even better. I will definitely be coming back and trying some other items !
